The optimal stem cell tran.plan.ation.(SCT) con.ition.n. therapy for relapsed/refractory n.n.Hodgkin.lymphoma (n.L) is n.t clearly defin.d. In.a retrospective an.lysis, we examin.d 25 patien.s with “high risk” relapsed/refractory n.L who received busulfan. cyclophosphamide, an. etoposide (Bu/Cy/VP16) con.ition.n. with autologous or allogen.ic SCT. The majority of patien.s had aggressive histology an. 52% had primary refractory n.L. Furthermore, 48% of patien.s had chemotherapy-resistan. disease at the time of SCT. Fifty-six percen. of patien.s un.erwen. allogen.ic SCT, while 44% had autologous SCT. The median.en.raftmen. time for n.utrophils an. platelets was 13.5 an. 14 days, respectively. The 100-day treatmen.-related mortality (TRM) was 16%, while the 2-year n.n.relapse mortality (n.M) rate was also 16%. At a median.follow-up of 15 mon.hs, the estimated 2-year disease-free survival (DFS) rate was 64% (95% con.iden.e in.erval (CI): 36%-82%) an. the estimated 2-year overall survival (OS) was 69% (95% CI: 40%-86%). Furthermore, the 2-year disease-specific survival (DSS) rate was 73% (95% CI: 40%-90%). Usin. Cox proportion.l hazard modelin., the In.ern.tion.l Progn.stic In.ex at time of relapse predicted DFS an. OS. Altogether, Bu/Cy/VP16 was associated with early TRM;however, late toxicities (in.ludin. n.M) were un.ommon.resultin. in.relatively good survival rates in.a high-risk relapsed/refractory n.L population.

The data on.soil physicochemical an.lysis was subjected to a on.-way an.lysis of varian.e in.SAS 9.4 an. the mean.was separated by Tukey’s HSD test at p n.ed from 4.20 to 4.91;an. 4.53 to 5.28 in.Pissa an. Damara respectively. Accordin. to the treatmen.s, a low pH value is observed in.T3 (4.13) in.the Pissa. Combin.d use of cow man.re an. the min.ral fertilizer resulted in.higher Mg K an. n.in.the Pissa region.an. higher soil pH in.Damara. The use of sole n.K (T3) gave a higher soil carbon.an. Cn.ratio. In.the Pissa region.the CEC, Cu, Fe, an. Zn.were higher in.the treatmen.s with min.ral fertilizer compared to the con.rol. Con.lusively, the use of min.ral fertilizer an. cow man.re can.be used with optimum rates to improve soil physico-chemical properties on.a sustain.ble basis.

Although B lymphocytes might exacerbate asthma symptoms through the production.of IgE, these cells might also be importan. in.the protective respon.e again.t in.aled fun.i. Through cytokin. release an. T-cell in.eraction., these lymphocytes might also in.luen.e the developmen. an. main.en.n.e of airway wall fibrosis. JH-/- mice lack the JHgen. for the heavy chain.compon.n. of an.ibodies, which is critical for B-cell fun.tion.an. survival. These an.mals have facilitated the elucidation.of the role of B iymphocytes in.a n.mber of immun. respon.es; however, JH-/- mice have n.t been.used to study fun.al allergy. In.this study, we examin.d the role of B lymphocytes usin. an.Aspergillus fumigatus murin. fun.al aeroallergen.model that mimics human.airway disease that is triggered by en.iron.en.al fun.al exposure. We compared disease progression.in.sen.itized wild-type BALB/c an. JH-/- mice that were exposed to repeated fun.al exposure an. foun. n. differen.es in.airway hyperrespon.iven.ss, overall pulmon.ry in.lammation.or collagen.deposition.aroun. the large airways. However, the levels of the Th2-type cytokin.s IL-4 an. IL-13 were sign.fican.ly atten.ated in.the airways of JH-/- mice relative to the BALB/c con.rols. By con.rast, levels of the in.lammatory cytokin.s IL-17A an.
