Threshold of climate extremes that impact vegetation productivity over the Tibetan Plateau

Vegetation growth is adversely impacted by multiple climate extremes related to the water and thermal stress over the Tibetan Plateau(TP).however,it remains unknown at which stress level these climate extremes can trigger the abrupt shifts of vegetation response to climate extremes and result in the maximum vegetation response across *** fill this knowledge gap,we combined the hydrometeorological data and the satellite-derived vegetation index to detect two critical thresholds that determine the response of vegetation productivity to droughts,high-temperature extremes,and low-temperature extremes,respectively,during *** results show that the response of vegetation productivity to droughts rapidly increases once crossing -1.41±0.6 standard deviation(σ)below the normal conditions of soil *** crossing-2.98σ±0.9σ,vegetation productivity is maximum damaged by ***-temperature extremes,which have the two thresholds of 1.34σ±0.4σand 2.31σ±0.4σover TP,are suggested to trigger the strong response of vegetation productivity at a milder stress level than low-temperature extremes(two thresholds:-1.44σ±0.5σand-2.53σ±0.8σ).Moreover,we found the compounded effects of soil moisture deficit in reducing the threshold values of both high-and low-temperature *** on the derived thresholds of climate extremes that impact vegetation productivity,earth System Models project that southwestern TP and part of the northeastern TP will become the hotspots with a high exposure risk to climate extremes by *** study deciphers the high-impact extreme climates using two important thresholds across TP,which advances the understanding of the vegetation response to different climate extremes and provides a paradigm for assessing the impacts of climate extremes on regional ecosystems.

Coupling Analysis of Multiple Machine learning Models for human Activity Recognition

Artificial intelligence(AI)technology has become integral in the realm of medicine and healthcare,particularly in human activity recognition(hAR)applications such as fitness and rehabilitation *** study introduces a robust coupling analysis framework that integrates four AI-enabled models,combining both machine learning(Ml)and deep learning(Dl)approaches to evaluate their effectiveness in *** analytical dataset comprises 561 features sourced from the UCI-hAR database,forming the foundation for training the ***,the MheAlTh database is employed to replicate the modeling process for comparative purposes,while inclusion of the WISDM database,renowned for its challenging features,supports the framework’s resilience and *** Ml-based models employ the methodologies including adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system(ANFIS),support vector machine(SVM),and random forest(RF),for data *** contrast,a Dl-based model utilizes one-dimensional convolution neural network(1dCNN)to automate feature ***,the recursive feature elimination(RFe)algorithm,which drives an Ml-based estimator to eliminate low-participation features,helps identify the optimal features for enhancing model *** best accuracies of the ANFIS,SVM,RF,and 1dCNN models with meticulous featuring process achieve around 90%,96%,91%,and 93%,*** analysis using the MheAlTh dataset showcases the 1dCNN model’s remarkable perfect accuracy(100%),while the RF,SVM,and ANFIS models equipped with selected features achieve accuracies of 99.8%,99.7%,and 96.5%,***,when applied to the WISDM dataset,the Dl-based and Ml-based models attain accuracies of 91.4%and 87.3%,respectively,aligning with prior research *** conclusion,the proposed framework yields hAR models with commendable performance metrics,exhibiting its suitability for integration into the healthcare services system through AI-driven applications.

A Normalizing Flow-Based Bidirectional Mapping Residual Network for Unsupervised Defect Detection

Unsupervised methods based on density representation have shown their abilities in anomaly detection,but detection performance still needs to be ***,approaches using normalizing flows can accurately evaluate sample distributions,mapping normal features to the normal distribution and anomalous features outside ***,this paper proposes a Normalizing Flow-based Bidirectional Mapping Residual Network(NF-BMR).It utilizes pre-trained Convolutional Neural Networks(CNN)and normalizing flows to construct discriminative source and target domain feature ***,to better learn feature information in both domain spaces,we propose the Bidirectional Mapping Residual Network(BMR),which maps sample features to these two spaces for anomaly *** two detection spaces effectively complement each other’s deficiencies and provide a comprehensive feature evaluation from two perspectives,which leads to the improvement of detection *** experimental results on the MVTec AD and DAGM datasets against the Bidirectional Pre-trained Feature Mapping Network(B-PFM)and other state-of-the-art methods demonstrate that the proposed approach achieves superior *** the MVTec AD dataset,NF-BMR achieves an average AUROC of 98.7%for all 15 ***,it achieves 100%optimal detection performance in five *** the DAGM dataset,the average AUROC across ten categories is 98.7%,which is very close to supervised methods.

efficient portable wearable sweat sensors allow the long-term monitoring of changes in the status of biomarkers in sweat,which can be useful in diagnosis,medication,and nutritional *** this study,we designed and tested a wireless,battery-free,flexible,self-pumping sweat-sensing system that simultaneously tracks levodopa and vitamin C levels in human sweat and detects body *** system includes a microfluidic chip with a self-driven pump and anti-reflux valve,a flexible wireless circuit board,and a purpose-designed smartphone *** microfluidic chip is used for the efficient collection of sweat and the drainage of excess *** dual electrochemical sensing electrodes in the chip are modified with functional materials and appropriate enzymatic reagents,achieving excellent selectivity and *** sensitivities of the levodopa sensor and the vitamin C sensor are 0.0073 and 0.0018μA·μM^(-1),respectively,and the detection correlation coefficients of both exceed *** sensors have a wide linear detection range of 0–100 and 0–1000μM,respectively,and low detection limits of 0.28 and 17.9μM,*** flexible wireless circuit board is equipped with the functions of wireless charging,electrical signal capture and processing,and wireless *** data recorded from each sensor are displayed on a smartphone via a self-developed app.A series of experimental results confirmed the reliability of the sweat-sensing system in noninvasively monitoring important biomarkers in the human body and its potential utility in the comprehensive assessment of biological health.

Comparative evaluation of commercial Douchi by different molds:biogenic amines,non-volatile and volatile compounds

Obstructive sleep apnea(OSA)is a serious type of sleep disorder that can lead to cardiometabolic and neurocognitive *** utilized smart device-based photoplethysmography technology to collect sleep data from the Chinese population from 2019 to *** lag nonlinear models combined with a generalized nonlinear model or a linear mixed effects model were used to investigate the shortterm associations between daily temperature and indicators of OSA *** included a total of 6,232,056 d of sleep monitoring data from 51,842 participants with moderate to severe risk of OSA from 313 Chinese *** relationships between ambient temperature and OSA exacerbation,apneahypopnea index(AhI),and minimum oxygen saturation(MinSpO_(2))were almost linear and present only on the same *** temperatures were associated with a greater risk of OSA exacerbation,with an 8.4%(95%confidence interval(CI):7.6%–9.3%)increase per 10℃increase in temperature.A 10℃increase in daily temperature corresponded to an AhI increase of 0.70 events/h(95%CI:0.65–0.76)and a MinSpO_(2)decrease of 0.18%(95%CI:0.16%–0.19%).exposure to elevated temperatures during the night can also lead to adverse *** effects of higher temperatures on OSA severity were stronger among men,participants with a body mass index24 kg/m2,those aged 45 years and older,individuals with a history of hypertension and diabetes,and during the cold *** large-scale,nationwide,longitudinal study provides robust evidence suggesting that higher ambient temperatures may immediately worsen OSA.

A Gel-Based Solidification Technology for large Fracture Plugging

Fault fractures usually have large openings and considerable extension. Accordingly, cross-linked gel materials aregenerally considered more suitable plugging agents than water-based gels because the latter often undergo contaminationvia formation water, which prevents them from being effective over long times. hence, in this study, aset of oil-based composite gels based on waste grease and epoxy resin has been developed. These materials havebeen observed to possess high compressive strength and resistance to the aforementioned contamination, therebyleading to notable increase in plugging success rate. The compressive strength, thickening time, and resistance toformation water pollution of these gels have been evaluated indoors. The results show that the compressivestrength of the gel can reach 11 MPa;additionally, the related gelation time can be controlled to be more than3 h, thereby providing a safe construction time;Invasion of formation water has a small effect on the gel strengthand does not shorten the thickening time. All considered performance indicators of the oil-based gel confirm itssuitability as a plugging agent for fault fractures.

Design and experiment of anti-adhesion rototiller based on staggered double-roller scraping

In order to solve the serious problem of soil adhering blade roller in the middle and lower reaches of Yangtze River,the anti-adhesion rototiller based on staggered double-roller scraping(ARSDS)was designed by mechanical scraping *** volume equation for scraping the soil adhesion part with staggered rotary blades was *** mechanical conditions for separation of soil adhesion part from blade roller were clarified,and the contact time between rotary blade and soil during rotary tillage was *** this way,the key parameters affecting soil adhering on and separating from the blade roller were determined,which were rotational speed,cutting pitch and tillage *** spatial and temporal trajectory changes for the sidelong section edge of staggered rotary blades were analyzed,so that the rotary blade arrangement was *** the discrete element method,selecting the soil adhesion mass on the staggered blade rollers as the response value established prediction model by Box-Behnken design *** example,taking the tillage depth of 14 cm for wheat cultivation in the middle and lower reaches of Yangtze River,the optimal combination of parameters was determined to be 230 r/min and 10 cm for rotational speed and cutting pitch,*** this time,the soil adhesion mass was 4566.67 *** the meantime,the process of soil particles adhering staggered blade rollers and rotary blades scraping off the adhering soil were *** experiments have shown that the operation quality of ARSDS met the requirements of rototiller performance *** the rice stubble field of high water moisture,the soil adhesion mass was 13.455 kg and 38.215 kg for ARSDS and conventional rototiller,respectively,which indicated that ARSDS effectively reducing soil adhesion *** research results can provide technical support for the design of rototiller reducing soil adhesion in the agricultural areas of the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River.
