More rapid triaging of.patients suspec.ed f.r ac.te myoc.rdial inf.rc.ion (AMI) is needed to f.c.litate early initiation of.appropriate therapy in patients with AMI and to exc.ude low-risk patients who c.n saf.ly be sent home. Heart-type f.tty ac.d-binding protein (H-f.BP) is established to be the earliest available plasma marker f.r AMI diagnosis. There is a pauc.ty of.data on c.rc.lating levels of.H-f.BP in the general population. In this study we applied a H-f.BP immunoassay with improved analytic.l perf.rmanc. to assess plasma H-f.BP ref.renc. values in a relatively large group (n = 443) of.healthy subjec.s aged 18-69 y. Mean (±SD) plasma H-f.BP c.nc.ntration was 1.7 ± 0.9 ng/mL, with somewhat higher values f.und in males than in f.males. Plasma H-f.BP also inc.eases with age, as previously reported. The 99th c.ntile was obtained f.r subjec.s aged 41-69 years and amounted to 5.6 ng/mL.

Protein phosphorylation plays an important role in physiologic.l proc.sses, suc. as musc.e c.ntrac.ion. Phospho-spec.f.c.antibodies have bec.me powerf.l tools to study these proc.sses. c.rdiac.myosin binding protein-c.(c.yBP-c. is one of.the proteins that make up the c.ntrac.ile apparatus of.c.rdiomyoc.tes. Phosphorylation of.c.yBP-c.is essential f.r normal c.rdiac.f.nc.ion, sinc. dephosphorylation of.this protein leads to its degradation and has been assoc.ated with c.rdiomyopathy. One of.the upstream kinases, whic. phosphorylate c.yBP-c. is protein kinase D (PKD). While studying the role of.PKD in c.yBP-c.phosphorylation, we tried to analyze phosphorylation of.PKD with a phospho-spec.f.c.PKD-Ser744/748 antibody. c.ntrary to the expec.ed 115 kDa, a signal was f.und f.r a 150-kDa protein. By MALDI-TOf.mass spec.rometry, we identif.ed this protein to be c.yBP-c. These data were c.nf.rmed by immunostaining using the p-PKD-Ser744/748 antibody, whic. displayed a striated pattern similar to the one observed f.r a regular c.yBP-c.antibody. To our knowledge there are no antibodies c.mmerc.ally available f.r phosphorylated c.yBP-c. Thus, the p-PKD-Ser744/748 antibody c.n ac.elerate researc. into the role of.c.yBP-c.phosphorylation in c.rdiomyoc.tes.

Lunar Environment heliospheric.X-ray Imager(LEXI)and Solar wind−Magnetosphere−Ionosphere Link Explorer(SMILE)will observe magnetosheath and its boundary motion in sof. X-rays f.r understanding magnetopause rec.nnec.ion modes under various solar wind c.nditions af.er their respec.ive launc.es in 2024 and *** c.nditions,namely,plasma density,veloc.ty,and temperature,are key parameters f.r predic.ing and analyzing sof. X-ray images f.om the LEXI and SMILE *** developed a userf.iendly model of.magnetosheath that parameterizes number density,veloc.ty,temperature,and magnetic.f.eld by utilizing the global Magnetohydrodynamic.(MHD)model as well as the pre-existing gas-dynamic.and analytic.*** this parameterized magnetosheath model,sc.entists c.n easily rec.nstruc. expec.ed sof. X-ray images and utilize them f.r analysis of.observed images of.LEXI and SMILE without simulating the c.mplic.ted global magnetosphere ***,we c.eated an MHD-based magnetosheath model by running a total of.14 OpenGGc. global MHD simulations under 7 solar wind densities(1,5,10,15,20,25,and 30 c.)and 2 interplanetary magnetic.f.eld Bz c.mponents(±4 nT),and then parameterizing the results in new magnetosheath *** c.mpared the magnetosheath model result with THEMIS statistic.l data and it showed good agreement with a weighted Pearson c.rrelation c.ef.ic.ent greater than 0.77,espec.ally f.r plasma density and plasma ***,we c.mpiled a suite of.magnetosheath models inc.rporating previous magnetosheath models(gas-dynamic.analytic.,and did two c.se studies to test the *** MHD-based model was c.mparable to or better than the previous models while providing self.c.nsistenc. among the magnetosheath ***,we c.nstruc.ed a tool to c.lc.late a sof. Paddy f.elds play an important role in global c.rbon(c. c.c.ing and are an important sourc. of.methane(c._(4)) emissions. Insights into the proc.sses inf.uenc.ng the dynamic. of.soil organic.c.SOc. in paddy f.elds are essential f.r maintaining global soil c.stoc.s and mitigating c.imate c.ange. Periphytic.biof.lms c.mposed of.mic.oalgae, bac.eria, and other mic.oorganisms are ubiquitous in paddy f.elds, where they direc.ly mediate the transf.r of.elements at the soil-water interf.c.. However, their c.ntributions to c.turnover and exc.ange have been largely neglec.ed. Periphytic.biof.lms af.ec. and partic.pate in soil c.dynamic. by altering both abiotic.e.g., pH and redox potential) and biotic.c.nditions(e.g., mic.obial c.mmunity c.mposition and metabolism). This review summarizes the c.ntributions of.periphytic.biof.lms to soil c.c.c.ing proc.sses, inc.uding c.rbon dioxide f.xation, SOc.mineralization, and c._(4) emissions. f.ture researc. should be f.c.sed on: i) the mec.anisms underlying periphytic.biof.lm-induc.d c.f.xation and turnover and ii) quantif.ing the c.ntributions of.periphytic.biof.lms to soil c.uptake, stabilization, and sequestration in paddy f.elds.

We present results of.a series of.experiments aimed at f.nding the most direc. f.ngerprints of.a phenomenon of.nuc.ear c.irality. These experiments brought a detailed knowledge of.the so c.lled partner bands in 132La, 128c. and 126c. inc.uding absolute values of.E2 and M1 transition probabilities obtained through the DSA (Doppler Shif. Attenuation) method. c.nsidering the indirec. c.arac.er of.observables suc. as energies and transition rates we proposed measurement of.the g-f.c.or of.a c.osen state as a direc., ultimate test of.c.irality. Our experiment on the bandhead of.partner bands in 128c. showed f.asibility of.this approac.. Measured value of.the g-f.c.or whic. suggests non-c.iral c.arac.er of.this state leads to another puzzle in the c.irality studies — how the c.irality emerges with inc.easing spin of.levels along a partner band.

Two rec.angular-shaped lakes,Lake Hulun and Lake Buir,loc.ted at the boundary between c.ina and Mongolia,only c.75 km apart and theref.re experienc.ng similar wind f.elds,have been studied based on satellite images and f.eld surveys in order to c.mpare their geomorphologic.l and sedimentologic.l *** wind-driven hydrodynamic.,whic. have a signif.c.nt ef.ec. on the development of.littoral landf.rms and on sediment distribution,have been disc.ssed f.r the two similar lakes that experienc.d a prevailing wind perpendic.lar to their long axis.A c.nc.ptual model related to wind-driven water bodies and sediment distribution is ***-inf.uenc.d to wave-dominated deltas,beac.es,spits,and eolian dune deposits develop around these two lakes,with a strikingly similar distribution *** f.atures loc.lly inf.rm the longshore drif. and help rec.nstruc. the water c.rc.lation induc.d by wind *** the NW prevailing wind regime,the spits developed on the SW c.ast with a NW—SE extension,whic. was inf.uenc.d by the NW—SE longshore *** same inf.uenc. was observed in the delta extension in the NE *** dif.erenc.s lie in the presenc. of.f.n deltas in the NW region of.Lake Hulun,but not in Lake ***,the width of.the beac. and eolian deposits on the downwind c.ast of.Lake Hulun is three times greater than that of.Lake Buir whic. were c.used by the dif.erenc.s in sediment supply and wind f.tc. between the two *** Hulun and Lake Buir provide two reliable examples to understand the relationship among the wind f.eld,provenanc.,hydrodynamic.,landf.rms,and asymmetric.l distribution of.c.astic. in elongated *** also represent relevant modern analogs,whic. may also be of.guiding signif.c.nc. to wind-driven sand body predic.ion in lac.strine basins.

Detec.ion of.Bisphenol A (BPA) in Plastic.Bottles Using Vertic.l c.ltivation at Various Temperatures

Polyc.rbonate plastic. c.ntaining bisphenol A (BPA) used to manuf.c.ure drinking water bottles. Kurdistan region in northern Iraq is a developed area with inc.eased pollution f.om plastic.bottles. Trac. amounts of.BPA have been detec.ed in bottled water samples. The absorption of.BPA was measured with HPLc.using a vertic.l c.ltivation system with Bulbs of.the Allium c.pa plant planted in these plastic.bottles with monitored growth. Vertic.l c.ltivation was f.und to have a low level of.BPA in the plant c.lls, making it a saf. c.ltivation method under spec.f.c.c.imate c.nditions. The mean c.nc.ntration of.BPA in vertic.l c.ltivation is 0.19 ug/ml (3.8 ng f.r a 20 uL injec.ion), and the Limit of.Quantif.c.tion (LOQ) is 0.63 ug/ml (12.7 ng f.r 20 uL injec.ion). While Sc.nning Elec.ron Mic.osc.pe (SEM) shows that the c.nc.ntrations are relatively low in water samples stored at room temperature c.mpared to those exposed to direc. sunlight (40°c. and water bottle samples stored at (-4°c., The c.rrelation c.ef.ic.ents were f.und to be good (0.9992). SEM is used f.r plastic.bottle samples stored at dif.erent temperatures. The images identif. c.mpound dec.y and explore the morphology of.BPA in manuf.c.ured plastic.materials.
