Open burning of municipal solid waste(MSW)is a common practice in *** of compounds of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon(PAHs)in ambient air and ash residues from burning of these wastes pose a great danger to the *** study investigated the contribution of open burning of MSW to the levels of PAHs in ambient air and ash residues from the burning *** samples were obtained from six sampling locations at a MSW burning *** foam passive samplers were used in collecting ambient air *** of PAHs was carried out using GC-MS operated in selected ion monitoring *** trend of ambient concentration of PAHs was;ΣPAHs AS-A(4.023)>AS-B(3.798)>AS-D(3.468)>AS-C(3.288),while average concentration of PAHs in the ash was 6.12 mg/*** of PAHs in ash samples ranged from 5.69-6.34 mg/*** component analysis(PCA)showed that most of the PAHs in the ambient were from MSW *** results obtained suggest that concerted effort of the government and the relevant stakeholders is required to safeguard the environment and humans from PAH pollution from open burning of MSW.

One of the promising and emerging enhanced oil recovery techniques in both sandstones and carbonates is engineered water injection(EWI).However,few studies discussed the field-scale applications of this technique in heterogeneous carbonate *** paper is an extension of our previous work of the EWI technology at *** research numerically investigates heterogeneity effect on EWI technique in carbonates at field-scale using five-spot *** synthetic five-spot sector models were considered including homogeneous,heterogeneous with permeability channeling,and heterogeneous with gravity *** results showed that EWI improves both volumetric and displacement sweep efficiencies compared to conventional formation water injection(FWI)for all models ***,tracer method is recommended for better estimation of volumetric sweep efficiency as opposed to fractional flow ***,secondary EWI outperforms other techniques including secondary FW and tertiary *** addition,the observed delay in tertiary EWI can be reduced by increasing well injection pressure and sulfate concentration in the engineered *** optimum sulfate concentration of 25,000 ppm is recommended for achieving the highest oil recovery by *** study gives more insight into understanding the performance of the EWI technique at *** for boosting the performance of this technique have been discussed,which assure more certainty and lower risk.

This paper proposes optimization models of crude oil distillation column for both limited and unlimited feed stock and market value of known products prices. The feed to the crude distillation column was assumed to be crude oil containing naphtha gas, kerosene, petrol and diesel as the light-light key, light key, heavy key and heavy-heavy key respectively. The models determined maximum concentrations of heavy key in the distillate and light key in the bottom for limited feed stock and market condition. Both were impurities in their respective positions of the column. The limiting constraints were sales specification concentration of light key in the distillate [ ], heavy key in the bottom [ ] and an operating loading constraint of flooding above the feed tray. For unlimited feed stock and market condition, the optimization models determined the optimum separation [ and ] and feed flow rate that would give maximum profit with minimum purity sales specification constraints of light key in the distillate and heavy key in the bottom as stated above. The feed loading was limited by the reboiler capacity. However, there is need to simulate the optimization models for an existing crude oil distillation column of a refinery in order to validate the models.

Finding an accurate method for estimating permeability aside from well logs has been a difficult task for many *** most commonly used methods targeted towards regression technique to understand the correlation between pore throat radii,porosity and permeability are Winland and Pittman equation *** these methods are very common among petrophysicists,they do not give a good prediction in certain ***,this paper investigates the relationship among porosity,permeability,and pore throat radii using three methods such as multiple regression analysis,artificial neural network(ANN),and adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system(ANFIS)for application in transition zone permeability ***,a comprehensive mercury injection capillary pressure(MICP)test was conducted using 228 transition zone carbonate core samples from a field located in the Middle-East *** regression analysis was later performed to estimate the permeability using pore throat and porosity *** the ANN,a two-layer feed-forward neural network with sigmoid hidden neurons and a linear output neuron was *** technique involves training,validation,and testing of input/output ***,for the ANFIS method,a hybrid optimization consisting of least-square and backpropagation gradient descent methods with a subtractive clustering technique was *** ANFIS combines both the artificial neural network and fuzzy logic inference system(FIS)for the training,validation,and testing of input/output *** results show that the best correlation for the multiple regression technique is achieved for pore throat radii with 35%mercury saturation(R35).However,for both the ANN and ANFIS techniques,pore throat radii with 55%mercury saturation(R55)gives the best *** the ANN and ANFIS are later found to be more effective and efficient and thus recommended as compared with the multiple regression technique commonly used in the industry.

The technique of Enhanced Gas Recovery by CO_(2) injection(CO_(2)-EGR)into shale reservoirs has brought increasing attention in the recent ***_(2)-EGR is a complex geophysical process that is controlled by several parameters of shale properties and engineering ***,more challenges arise when simulating and predicting CO_(2)/CH4 displacement within the complex pore systems of ***,the petroleum industry is in need of developing a cost-effective tool/approach to evaluate the potential of applying CO_(2) injection to shale *** recent years,machine learning applications have gained enormous interest due to their high-speed performance in handling complex data and efficiently solving practical ***,this work proposes a solution by developing a supervised machine learning(ML)based model to preliminary evaluate CO_(2)-EGR *** used for this work was drawn across a wide range of simulation sensitivity studies and experimental *** this work,linear regression and artificial neural networks(ANNs)implementations were considered for predicting the incremental enhanced *** on the model performance in training and validation sets,our accuracy comparison showed that(ANNs)algorithms gave 15%higher accuracy in predicting the enhanced CH4 compared to the linear regression *** ensure the model is more generalizable,the size of hidden layers of ANNs was adjusted to improve the generalization ability of ANNs *** ANNs models presented,ANNs of 100 hidden layer size gave the best predictive performance with the coefficient of determination(R2)of 0.78 compared to the linear regression model with R2 of *** developed MLbased model presents a powerful,reliable and cost-effective tool which can accurately predict the incremental enhanced CH4 by CO_(2) injection in shale gas reservoirs.

Physical and mechanical characteristics of composite briquette from coal and pretreated wood fines

Melina wood torrefied at 260℃ for 60 min was agglomerated with lean grade coal fines into composite briquettes using pitch as *** biomass(3%-20%)and coal fines(80%-97%)were blended together to produce the composite briquettes under a hydraulic press(28 MPa).The briquettes were cured at 300℃.Density,water resistance,drop to fracture,impact resistance,and cold crushing strength were evaluated for the composite *** proximate,ultimate,and calorific value analyses were carried out according to different ASTM *** studies were carried out using scanning electron microscope and electron probe microanalyzer equipped with energy dispersive *** Transform Infrared Spectrophotometer(FTIR)was used to obtain the functional groups in the raw materials and *** density of the composite briquettes ranged from 0.92 to 1.31 g/cm^(3) after *** with95%).The highest cold crushing strength of 4 MPa was obtained for briquettes produced from 97%coal fines and 3%torrefied *** highest drop to fracture(54 times/2 m)and impact resistance index(1350)were obtained for the sample produced from 97%coal and 3%torrefied *** fixed and elemental carbons of the briquettes showed a mild improvement compared to the raw *** peaks from FTIR spectra for the briquettes shows the presence of aromatic C=C bonds and phenolic OH *** composite briquettes with up to 20%torrefied biomass can all be useful as fuel for various applications.

Natural Radionuclides Content in Granites from Operational Quarry Sites

Natural radionuclides content in granite from eight functional quarries in Osun State, Southwestern Nigeria was assessed. Eighty granite samples comprise?¾?inches.?½?inch and stone-dust were collected from Wolid, Slava, Ayofe, Espro, Ife/Modakeke, Krystal Vountein, Clario and Omidiran quarries in the State. Measurement was done using a high purity germanium (HPGe) detector. The statistical analysis was carried out using Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) software to determine if granite size has an impact on the activity concentrations. The results revealed that the mean activity concentrations of 238U (12.64 ± 1.89 Bq·kg -1) and 232Th (16.93 ± 2.46 Bq·kg -1) were highest in?¾?inch granite and lowest in stone-dust (5.01 ± 0.77 and 8.97 ± 1.37 Bq·kg -1 respectively), whereas 40K is highest in the ¾?inches (266.19 ± 35.53 Bq·kg -1) and lowest in?½?inches (151.85 ± 25.09 Bq·kg -1) granite. Espro has the highest (23.75 ± 3.74 Bq·kg -1) while Wolid has the lowest (4.11 ± 0.73 Bq·kg -1) 238U activity concentration and Slava has lowest for 232Th (8.21 ± 1.12 Bq·kg -1) and 40K (109.54 ± 11.06 Bq·kg -1). The radiological hazard parameters such as absorbed dose, annual effective dose radium equivalent, gamma index, external index, and internal index, were calculated to assess the radiation hazards associated with granite samples. The results obtained are lower than the recommended limits. The results were compared with the published data of other countries. Although, all the calculated radiation hazard indices were lower than the permissible limits. Therefore, people working in the quarries, granite end-users and the general public are safe from radiological health risks from the quarries, since there is no significant health hazard. The research will give reliable information on activity concentrations of natural radionuclides in granite rocks, contribute to a better understanding of radioactivity distribution in granite, and develop

Over the past decades,China has become the education hub for many international students due to its internalization policies,education standards,economic advantage and the technological ***,due to the impact of COVID-19 pandemic which also affected the educational sector,the closure of boarder necessitated the transition from in-person teaching to virtual teaching for international students unable to come to China due to *** paper focuses first on the concept of internationalization,internationalization mechanism of China and the management model of international students and second on the current situation of international students within and without *** source of the data for this study consists of previous literature and survey data collected using an online *** findings of this study reveal that international students experienced minor difficulties in transitioning and adapting to online classes,although the level of satisfaction of the students is *** on the findings of the study it can be concluded that the Chinese internationalization agenda and corporations can be further enhanced by establishing online programs for international students,which will require rigorous adjustment of the curriculum to accommodate more people around the globe among other considerations.

交通运输是一个基础行业,对政治、经济发展以及货物和人员的安全高效运输至关重要。在各种运输方式中,铁路在国民经济发展的过程中扮演着非常关键的角色,其具有低能耗、高运输能力、安全可靠、环保的特点,并且可以适应气候条件。它既是实现经济发展的战略手段,也是各国青睐的大规模运输方式。随着经济增长,路网的货运需求也随之增大,单位车厢需要承载更多的货物来提高铁路系统的效率,以实现更快的运输。从本质上讲,高效的交通系统推动了各国的商业和经济活动。本文首先对尼日利亚阿布贾至阿贾库塔铁路进行了可行性研究,然后对所选区间进行了数字化铁路线路设计,最后利用了Object ARX2020开发了线路平面计算和绘图插件,实现了一键绘图、拖动修改图形并将线路设计数据保存至Access数据库等功能,可进行方案优化。随着尼日利亚的人口增长和经济活动的日益频繁,缺乏有效的交通系统来满足日益增长的需求,这影响了社会和商业活动,道路基础设施不堪重负,易引发交通事故,造成交通堵塞,人们的出行也随之增加。因此,有必要对尼日利亚铁路进行扩建。目前,尼日利亚既有铁路全长3744公里,呈H型路网分布,其中窄轨的单线铁路有3557公里。尼日利亚铁路主要由东北至西南的2条干线和7条支线组成。东部干线从哈科特港到迈杜古里,长约1443公里,西部干线从拉各斯到卡诺,长约1136公里。主要干线之间有联络线。为了满足尼日利亚日益增长的交通基础设施需求,制定了一个二十五年实现路网现代化的战略计划;该计划于2012年再次修订并获批,旨在修复既有铁路,并将其过渡成高运力的标准轨,然后通过新的路网连接36个主要州和经济枢纽。尼日利亚交通基础设施不完善一直是其工业发展和出口的主要经济瓶颈,因为高昂的运输成本降低了本国商品的竞争力。新的枢纽也会将投资和移民吸引到以前欠发达的地区。拉各斯-卡诺西部走廊的开发不仅有利于提高尼日利亚北部的运输效率,还会比公路运输更加安全。联邦政府会在交通领域实施25年战略计划,这是社会经济转型的关键。该战略计划包括修复全部的既有窄轨铁路、建设新的标准轨铁路并在全国进行运营和维护,这需要很多资源,其中大部分预计将通过私营部门投资获得,该计划会让尼日利亚人民拥有一个可与全球相媲美的现代化交通系统。该战略计划的唯一目的是连接36个州和阿布贾FCT,并通过铁路连接该国机场和河港码头,从而减轻尼日利亚公路路网的压力,目前公路运输仍承担着80%以上的客运和货运。如果缺乏一条功能齐全的铁路,会极大地减小公路路网的使用寿命,并对国家财政产生了负面影响。铁路系统的缺失或与其他辖区的运输方式的连接不当,会导致尼日利亚运输成本急剧增加。拟议的铁路系统会促进尼日利亚联邦共和国和尼日尔共和国之间的社会经济活动。交通基础设施的完善会持续促进尼日利亚的可持续发展。可行性分析报告显示,在尼日利亚的阿布贾至阿贾库塔铁路与其他线路相连后,它将成为该国最重要的线路之一,具有很大潜力,能够显著加强核心路网,带动沿线地区的经济增长,促进民族团结,减少贫困,并通过提供就业、教育和医疗服务来促进繁荣,同时将商品和服务带入市场,推动经济增长。Abuja到Ajakuta地区人口密集,沿线商业活动频繁,每日估计客流量达一万人次,运行时间为4-5个小时。拟建线路旨在将运行时间减少30%。在众多铁路相关专业中,铁路线路的设计与规划是铁路建设总揽全局的核心工作。在对设计区段进行可行性分析后,初步确定铁路线路的走向是至关重要的,它不仅对铁路建设的工程投资、实施的难易程度和运营的安全与效率、乘坐的舒适性具有决定性作用,并且对铁路沿线的政治、经济、文化以及环境等因素都会产生长久而深远的影响。它是铁路设计中最重要的部分,从本质上讲,铁路线路设计与规划就是在一个高维耦合且动态变化的环境中去寻找一些安全、经济、环保、舒适综合最优的线路方案。传统方法决策一条符合设计标准且满足各类约束条件的铁路线路方案需要耗费大量的人力成本和时间成本,设计人员在实际设计过程中还可能忽略潜在的可行方案,选线设计仍面临着诸多挑战,迫切需要借助先进的技术来提高设计的效率和质量。近年来,随着地理信息系统、计算机辅助设计软件的快速发展和新兴勘察技术的不断涌现,勘察和设计的技术已进入现代化的新阶段。可在很大程度上缩短选线的设计周期,大大减轻设计人员的工作负担,对于提高铁路选线设计的工作质量和效率具有重要的科研与工程意义。本项目正处于前期规划阶段,尚无精准的测绘地理信息数据,这是铁路线路方案设计与评价的必要基础。对此的研究充分利用公共的地理信息资源,综合运用91卫图、Global Mapper、Auto CAD等信息化工具生成了选线设计必须的地理环境数据。首先通过91卫图软件定位起终点,从91卫图软件下载地形数据时,选择坐标定位用于添加终点站的坐标。输入Abaji的坐标然后保

The behavior of objects in motion is described by the equations of motion, which are basic concepts in mathematical physics. These equations are useful in explaining how forces and torques cause body components to move around a joint when applied to joint movement, especially in biomechanics. In the orthopedic industries, biomechanics is widely used to develop orthopaedic implants for a range of body joints, dental parts, external fixations, exoskeletons, and other medical uses. In this case, the motion of a phenomenon is described using a nonlinear differential model. One of the most effective approaches for describing the qualitative behavior of a dynamical system is the introduction of Lyapunov methods. Stability analysis and boundedness of solutions of a nonlinear differential equation model, particularly in the context of knee joint movement, entails analyzing how minor perturbations (like changes in force, position, or velocity) influence the behavior of the joint and remain within a finite range over time, respectively. The goal is to determine whether the system returns to a steady state (stable) or becomes unstable when subjected to these small changes. The effect of viscous damping, external input, and angular motions at different times in seconds are all controlled to govern the shank knee movement surrounding the knee joint. Numerical simulations with Matlab and Mathematica are drawn to demonstrate the effectiveness of the shank knee motion around the knee joint.
