Salted egg white derived-peptides VF-4 and DR-8 improve DSS-induced colitis in mice b. inhib.ting NF-κb.MAPK/PI3K-AKT signaling pathways and modulating gut microb.ota composition

Inflammation underlies many chronic diseases， and inflammatory b.wel disease (Ib.) is a condition characterized b. long-term inflammation of the gut. Egg whites have b.en shown to contain many b.neficial active sub.tances. Therefore， we ob.ained two peptides from salted egg white: Val-Val-His-Phe (VF-4) and Asp-Thr-Gln-Ala-Met-Pro-Phe-Arg (DR-8). The sodium dextran sulfate (DSS)-induced mice colitis model was used to evaluate its regulatory effect on colitis in vivo. The results showed that VF-4 and DR-8 improved the clinical symptoms of DSS-induced colitis， attenuated colon tissue damage， inhib.ted the activation of NF-κb.MAPK/PI3K-AKT signaling pathways， and inhib.ted the expression of inflammatory cytokines. 16S rRNA gene sequencing showed that VF-4 and DR-8 administration increased the relative ab.ndance of intestinal b.neficial b.cteria including Lactob.cillus， b.autia， and down-regulated the relative ab.ndance of inflammation-related b.cteria including Acinetob.cter， Lachnospiraceae＿NK4A136＿group， Kleb.iella. Moreover， the degree of correlation b.tween pro-inflammatory cytokines and microb.ota was as follows: IL-6 > TNF-α > IL-1β > IFN-γ. In conclusion， this study suggests that salted egg white peptides VF-4 and DR-8 have a significant anti-inflammatory effect in vivo. It also provides a strategy for the treatment of inflammatory b.wel disease and a new way for the high-value utilization of salted egg white.

Influence of temperature, stress, and grain size on b.havior of nano-polycrystalline niob.um

Atomic simulations are executed to investigate the creep responses of nano-polycrystalline(NC) niob.um estab.ished b. using the Voronoi algorithm. The effects of varying temperature, applied stress, and grain size(GS) on creep properties and mechanisms are investigated. Notab.y, the occurrence of tertiary creep is exclusively ob.erved under conditions where the applied stress exceeds 4.5 GPa and the temperature is higher than 1100 K. This phenomenon can b. attrib.ted to the significant acceleration of grain b.undary and lattice diffusion, driven b. the elevated temperature and stress levels. It is found that the strain rate increases with b.th temperature and stress increasing. However, an interesting trend is ob.erved in which the strain rate decreases as the grain size increases. The stress and temperature are crucial parameters governing the creep b.havior. As these factors intensify, the creep mechanism undergoes a sequential transformation: initially from lattice diffusion under low stress and temperature conditions to a mixed mode comb.ning grain b.undaries(Gb.) and lattice diffusion at moderate stress and mid temperature levels, and ultimately leading to the failure of power-law controlled creep b.havior, inclusive of grain b.undary recrystallization under high stress and temperature conditions. This comprehensive analysis provides in more detail an understanding of the intricate creep b.havior of nano-polycrystalline niob.um and its dependence on various physical parameters.

Opinion consensus incorporating higher-order interactions in individual-collective networks

In the current information society, the dissemination mechanisms and evolution laws of individual or collective opinions and their b.haviors are the research hot topics in the field of opinion dynamics. First, in this paper, a two-layer network consisting of an individual-opinion layer and a collective-opinion layer is constructed, and a dissemination model of opinions incorporating higher-order interactions(i.e. OIHOI dissemination model) is proposed. Furthermore, the dynamic equations of opinion dissemination for b.th individuals and groups are presented. Using Lyapunov's first method,two equilib.ium points, including the negative consensus point and positive consensus point, and the dynamic equations ob.ained for opinion dissemination, are analyzed theoretically. In addition, for individual opinions and collective opinions,some conditions for reaching negative consensus and positive consensus as well as the theoretical expression for the dissemination threshold are put forward. Numerical simulations are carried to verify the feasib.lity and effectiveness of the proposed theoretical results, as well as the influence of the intra-structure, inter-connections, and higher-order interactions on the dissemination and evolution of individual opinions. The main results are as follows.(i) When the intra-structure of the collective-opinion layer meets certain characteristics, then a negative or positive consensus is easier to reach for individuals.(ii) b.th negative consensus and positive consensus perform b.st in mixed type of inter-connections in the two-layer network.(iii) Higher-order interactions can quickly eliminate differences in individual opinions, thereb. enab.ing individuals to reach consensus faster.

We report the detailed crystal structures and physical properties of Ru_(1-x)Mo_(x)alloys in the solid solution range of x=*** characterizations indicate that the crystal structure changes from the hcp-Mg-type,toβ-CrFe-type,and then *** measurements of physical properties show that the Ru_(1-x)Mo_(x)samples with x≥0.2are superconductors and the superconducting transition temperature T_c as a function of Mo content exhib.ts a dome-like b.havior.

Hyperspectral imaging for one-step growth simulation of b.ochothrix thermosphacta in chilled b.ef during storage

In this work， one-step growth models using hyperspectral imaging (HSI) (400–1 000) nm were successfully developed in order to estimate the microb.al loads， minimum growth temperature (Tmin) and maximum specific growth rate (μmax) of b.ochothrix thermosphacta in chilled b.ef at isothermal temperatures (4–25) ℃. Three different methods were compared for model development， particularly using (Model I) the predicted microb.al loads from partial least squares regression of the whole spectral variab.es; (Model II) the selected spectral variab.es related to microb.al loads; and (Model III) the first principal scores of HSI spectra b. principal component analysis. Consequently， Model I showed the b.st ab.lity to predict the microb.al loads of b. thermosphacta， with the coefficient of determination (Rv2) and root mean square error in internal validation (RMSEV) of 0.921 and 0.498 (lg (CFU/g)). The Tmin(–12.32 ℃) and μmaxcan b. well estimated with R2and RMSE of 0.971 and 0.276 (lg (CFU/g))， respectively. The upward trend of μmaxwith temperature was similar to that of the plate count method. HSI technique thus can b. used as a simple method for one-step growth simulation of b. thermosphacta in chilled b.ef during storage.
