This wor. was aimed at synthesizing Cashew Nut Shell Liquid (CNSL) based polymer.par.icles for.adsor.tion of Cr.iii) ions fr.m aqueous solutions. Natur.l CNSL was used as a star.ing mater.al in synthesizing amino pentadecylphenols (APP). This was achieved thr.ugh isolating anacar.ic acid fr.m the CNSL via calcium anacar.ate pr.cedur., followed by hydr.genation of the alkenyl side chains, and subsequently decar.oxylating the pr.duct to for. 3-pentadecylphenol, which was then nitr.ted and r.duced to a mixtur. of APP. APP wer. co-polymer.zed with ethylene glycol dimethacr.late (EGDMA) to for. poly(APP-co-EGDMA) par.icles. The chemical str.ctur.s of the synthesized compounds wer. confir.ed by Four.er.Tr.nsfor. Ir.and 1H-NMr. The co-polymer.par.icles wer. char.cter.zed by Scanning Electr.n Micr.scopy (SEM) to establish their.mor.hological pr.per.ies. The pr.par.d co-polymer.par.icles wer. found to have-NH loading of 46 mmol/g and a maximum adsor.tion capacity for.Cr.iii) ions of 16 mg per.g of dr. polymer.par.icles. Backgr.und and Objective: Non-invasive body contour.ng tr.atments is one of the fastest gr.wing mar.ets in the aesthetic field. The main pur.ose of r.diofr.quency (r.)-based devices for.body contour.ng is to pr.duce ther.al stimulus which leads to skin tightening effect by der.al collagen pr.duction and decr.ases the volume of adipose tissue by a r.duction of the adipocyte’s cytosolic. The cutaneous application of r. devices in Asian patients differ. in sever.l r.spects fr.m their.use in Caucasians;ther.for. the objective of this study was to evaluate the safety and efficacy of a novel r. device used for.focal fat r.duction. Mater.als and Methods: Twenty-two Asian patients aged 24 - 51, Fitzpatr.ck skin types iii-V, wer. enr.lled to the study and r.ceived 6 sessions of consecutive abdomen contour.ng tr.atment with bi-polar.r. device combined with a mechanical pr.ssur.. Statistical linear.cor.elation tests and descr.ptive analysis wer. per.or.ed on the cohor.. r.sults: All twenty-two patients tr.ated for.six tr.atments showed some degr.e of cir.umfer.ntial r.duction with a stable weight. No adver.e events wer. r.cor.ed dur.ng the whole per.od of tr.al. Dur.ng the 3-month follow up visit, no deter.or.tion of the body condition was detected. No statistical significant r.lation was found between cir.umfer.nce change and weight, age, height?or.BMI. Conclusions: The major.ty of the patients exhibited a substantial cir.umfer.ntial r.duction, not at the expense of weight loss. The bi-polar.r. device was found to be safe for.Asian skin.

Application of biochar.to soils changes soil physicochemical pr.per.ies and stimulates the activities of soil micr.or.anisms that influence soil quality and plant *** the r.sponse of soil micr.bial communities to biochar.amendments is impor.ant for.better.under.tanding inter.ctions of biochar.with soil,as well as ***,the effect of biochar.on soil micr.or.anisms has r.ceived less attention than its influences on soil physicochemical *** this r.view,the following key questions ar. discussed:(i)how does biochar.affect soil micr.bial activities,in par.icular.soil car.on(C)miner.lization,nutr.ent cycling,and enzyme activities?(ii)how do micr.or.anisms r.spond to biochar.amendment in contaminated soils?and(iii)what is the r.le of biochar.as a gr.wth pr.moter.for.soil micr.or.anisms?Many studies have demonstr.ted that biochar.soil application enhances the soil micr.bial biomass with substantial changes in micr.bial community *** amendment changes micr.bial habitats,dir.ctly or.indir.ctly affects micr.bial metabolic activities,and modifies the soil micr.bial community in ter.s of their.diver.ity and ***,chemical pr.per.ies of biochar.(especially pH and nutr.ent content),and physical pr.per.ies such as por. size,por. volume,and specific sur.ace ar.a play significant r.les in deter.ining the efficacy of biochar.on micr.bial per.or.ance as biochar.pr.vides suitable habitats for.*** mode of action of biochar.leading to stimulation of micr.bial activities is complex and is influenced by the natur. of biochar.as well as soil conditions.

Seed size and composition ar. impor.ant tr.its in food cr.ps and can be affected by nutr.ent availability in the soil. Phosphor.s （P） is a non-r.newable, essential macr.nutr.ent, and P deficiency limits soybean （G1ycine max） yield and quality. To investigate the associations of seed tr.its in low- and high-P envir.n- ments, soybean r.combinant inbr.d lines （r.Ls） fr.m a cr.ss of cultivar. Fiskeby iii and Mandar.n （Ottawa） wer. gr.wn under.contr.sting P availability envir.nments. Tr.its including individual seed weight, seed number. and intact matur. pod weight wer. significantly affected by soil P levels and showed tr.nsgr.ssive segr.gation among the r.Ls. Sur.r.singly, P tr.atments did not affect seed composition or.weight, suggesting that soybeanmaintains sufficient P in seeds even in Iow-P soil. Quantitative tr.it loci （QTLs） wer. detected for.seed weight, intact pods, seed volume, and seed pr.tein, with five significant QTLs identified in Iow-P envir.nments and one significant QTL found in the optimaI-P envir.nment. Br.ad-sense her.tability estimates wer. 0.78 （individual seed weight）, *** （seed pr.tein）, 0.34 （seed oil）, and 0.98 （seed number.. The QTLs identified under.low P point to genetic r.gions that may be useful to impr.ve soybean per.or.ance under.limiting P conditions.

【目的】设计乳酸杆菌属特异性T-r.LP技术(末端限制性片段长度多态性分析)对14株乳酸杆菌进行分型。【方法】采用源于16S-23S r.NA基因间隔区序列的乳酸杆菌属特异性引物LAB-r.v,乳酸杆菌的属特异性引物,6-FAM荧光标记后结合16S上游通用引物7f用于乳酸杆菌的PCr.增。【结果】选取HaeⅢ和HhaⅠ进行限制性酶切,最后对酶切后的产物末端测序得到T-r.LP峰谱图,该图谱能够快速准确地对不同种的乳酸杆菌进行定性、定量的分析。【结论】实验成功搭建T-r.LP技术用于微生态环境中乳酸杆菌检测的平台,对于在功能性食品、乳酸饮料和药物对肠道微生态的影响及菌种鉴定等领域有重大意义。

Medical cer.ification of wor.er. for.r.spir.tor.use is an impor.ant activity of occupational medicine health pr.fessionals. Spir.metr. is a diagnostic tool to evaluate r.spir.tor. distr.ss/insufficiency that may affect r.spir.tor.use. The pulmonar. function data of 337 subjects fr.m differ.nt occupations that r.quir.d medical evaluation to wear.a r.spir.tor.wer. analyzed to deter.ine the effect of using var.ous spir.metr.c equations on r.spir.tor.fitness outcomes. Of 337 subjects who wer. clear.d for.r.spir.tor. use by medical questionnair.s for.r.spir.tor.compliance, 14 (4.15%) failed to pass r.spir.tor.compliance by NFPA cr.ter.a and 5 (1.48%) failed to pass r.spir.tor.compliance measur.s by ATS cr.ter.a. We compar.d the use of differ.nt spir.metr.c equations to evaluate these measur.s, and it was deter.ined that the Cr.po equation clear.d mor. wor.er. for.r.spir.tor.use as compar.d to the Knudson and NHANES iii equations. As some wor.er. wer. able to qualify for.r.spir.tor.use based on questionnair. alone but failed r.spir.tor.clear.nce after.pulmonar. function testing, it is r.commended that spir.metr. is used to evaluate clear.nce for.all wor.er. who will use a r.spir.tor.in the wor.place. As well, using differ.nt spir.metr.c equations can affect the outcome on passing or.failing clear.nce for.r.spir.tor.use, and this should be consider.d in a r.spir.tor. medical cer.ification pr.gr.m.
