BACKGROUND Three-dimensional organoid culture systems have been established as a robust tool for elucidating mechanisms and performing drug efficacy testing.The use of gastric organoid models holds significant promise for advancing personalized medicine research.However,a comprehensive bibliometric review of this burgeoning field has not yet been published.AIM To analyze and understand the development,impact,and direction of gastric organoid research using bibliometric methods using data from the Web of Science Core Collection(WoSCC)database.METHODS This analysis encompassed literature pertaining to gastric organoids published between 2010 and 2023,as indexed in the WoSCC.CiteSpace and VOSviewer were used to depict network maps illustrating collaborations among authors,institutions and keywords related to gastric organoid.Citation,co-citation,and burst analysis methodologies were applied to assess the impact and progress of research.RESULTS A total of 656 relevant studies were evaluated.The majority of research was published in gastroenterology-focused journals.Globally,Yana Zavros,Hans Clevers,james M Wells,Sina Bartfeld,and Chen Zheng were the 5 most productive authors,while Hans Clevers,Huch Meritxell,Johan H van Es,Marc Van de Wetering,and Sato Toshiro were the foremost influential scientists in this area.Institutions from the University Medical Center Utrecht,Netherlands Institute for Developmental Biology(Utrecht),and University of Cincinnati(Cincinnati,OH,United States)made the most significant contributions.Currently,gastric organoids are used mainly in studies investigating gastric cancer(GC),Helicobacter pylori-infective gastritis,with a focus on the mechanisms of GC,and drug screening tests.CONCLUSION Key focus areas of research using gastric organoids include unraveling disease mechanisms and enhancing drug screening techniques.Major contributions from renowned academic institutions highlight this field’s dynamic growth.

Plants produce a range of carbohydrates to meet their growth and developmental needs. Protein reversible phosphorylation plays key roles in coordinating multiple metabolic pathways and integrating diverse internal and external cues. Understanding such regulatory metabolism will provide novel resources for breeding and crop management by modulating metabolic pathways for control of growth and stress response. In this review, we summarize the complex, multifaceted functions of protein phosphorylation and their connections to plant metabolism. We focus particularly on carbohydrate metabolic pathways that are controlled by key kinases and discuss how they are linked to downstream changes in physiology, important agronomic traits and crop quality.

成功设计了一款天文应用的640×512短波红外焦平面读出电路。由于红外天文观测具有极低背景辐射、光子通量低的特点,为了实现探测器的高信噪比,需要降低器件的暗电流和电路噪声。电路采用有效的功耗管理策略,在保证电路正常工作的前提下尽可能地降低电路功耗以减小电路辉光对器件暗电流的影响。同时,研究非破坏性读出的数字功能,实现了超长的积分时间和信号的多帧累积,并作为一种斜坡采样的策略有效地降低读出噪声。短波HgCdTe焦平面的测试结果符合理论设计预期,开启电路非破坏性读出功能,设置6 000 s的积分时间,当电路功耗调低至14.04 mW时暗电流为0.9 e-·pixel^(-1)·s^(-1)。读出噪声在两档增益下分别为50 e-(10 fF)和27 e-(5 fF),非线性度低于0.1%。

Functional Divergence between Subgenomes anc Gene Pairs after Whole Genome Duplications

Gene loss following whole genome duplication （WGD） is often biased, with one subgenome retaining more ancestral genes and the other sustaining more gene deletions. While bias toward the greater expression of gene copies on one subgenome can explain bias in gene loss, this raises the question to what drives differences in gene expression levels between subgenomes. Differences in chromatin modifications and epigenetic markers between subgenomes in several model species are now being identified, providing an explanation for bias in gene expression between subgenomes. WGDs can be classified into duplications with higher, biased gene loss and bias in gene expression between subgenomes versus those with lower, unbiased rates of gene loss and an absence of detectable bias between subgenomes; however, the origi- nally proposed link between these two classes and whether WGD results from an allo- or autopolyploid event is inconsistent with recent data from the allopolyploid Capsella bursa-pastoris. The gene balance hypothesis can explain bias in the functional categories of genes retained following WGD, the difference in gene loss rates between unbiased and biased WGDs, and how plant genomes have avoided being overrun with genes encoding dose-sensitive subunits of multiprotein complexes. Comparisons of gene expression patterns between retained transcription factor pairs in maize suggest the high degree of retention for WGD-derived pairs of transcription factors may instead be explained by the older duplication-degeneration-complementation model.

Linking natural genetic variation to trait variation can help determine the functional roles ofdifferent genes.Variations of one or several traits are often assessed separately.High-throughput phenotyping and data mining can capture dozens or hundreds of traits from the same individuals.Here,we test the association between markers within a gene and many traits simultaneously.This genome–phenome wide association study(GPWAS)is both a multi-marker and multi-trait test.Genes identified using GPWAS with 260 phenotypic traits in maize were enriched for genes independently linked to phenotypic variation.Traits associated with classical mutants were consistent with reported phenotypes for mutant alleles.Genes linked to phenomic variation in maize using GPWAS shared molecular,population genetic,and evolutionary features with classical mutants in maize.Genes linked to phenomic variation in Arabidopsis using GPWAS are significantly enriched in genes with known loss-of-function phenotypes.GPWAS may be an effective strategy to identify genes in which loss-of-function alleles produce mutant phenotypes.The shared signatures present in classical mutants and genes identified using GPWAS may be markers for genes with a role in specifying plant phenotypes generally or pleiotropy specifically.

An experimental study on pile scour mitigating measures under waves and currents

An experimental study has been carried out to investigate effects of four flow-altering scour countermeasures placed around a foundation pile under currents only as well as under coexisting waves and currents. The countermeasures are sacrificial piles, downstream bed sill, sleeve and slot in the pile. Their arrangements follow the suggested optimal configurations, with some of them slightly modified. In terms of the evolution of scour depth and bed topography around the pile, the scour countermeasures are evaluated, subjected to steady currents with or without irregular waves. A comparison between maximum scour depth with the countermeasures and one without the countermeasures demonstrates the efficiency of countermeasures. All the tested scour measures reduce the scour depth by 17.6%–42.6% under the action of currents only and 5.8%–24.0% under the combined action of both currents and waves. The results also show that it takes a shorter time for the scour depth to reach its equilibrium with the measures under either coexisting currents and waves or currents only than ones without the measures.
