Background:Return to play(RTP)in elite rugby is managed using a 6-stage graduated RTP protocol,which can result in clearance to play within 1 week of.*** aimed to explore how symptom,cognitive,and balance presentation and evolution during concussion screens 2 h(head injury assessment(HIA2)and 48 h(HIA3)af.er injury were associated with time to RTP)to identif. whether a more conservative graduated RTP may be ***:A retrospective cohort study was conducted in 380 concussed rugby players f.om elite men’s rugby over 3 consecutive *** were classif.ed as shorter or longer returns,depending on whether RTP occurred within 7 days(allowing them to be considered to play the match 1 week af.er injury)or longer than 8 days,***,cognitive,and balance perf.rmance during screens was assessed relative to baseline(normal or abnormal)and to the preceding screen(improving or worsening).Associations between sub-test abnormalities and RTP time were explored using odds ratios(OR,longer ***).Median day absence was compared between players with abnormal or worsening results and those whose results were normal or ***:Abnormal symptom results during screens 2 h and 48 h af.er concussion were associated with longer return time(HIA2:OR=2.21,95%conf.dence interval(95%CI):1.39-3.50;HIA3:OR=3.30,95%CI:1.89-5.75).Worsening symptom number or severity f.om the time of.injury to 2 h and 48 h post-injury was associated with longer return(HIA2:OR=2.49,95%CI:1.36-4.58;HIA3:OR=3.34,95%CI:1.10-10.15).Median days absence was greater in players with abnormal symptom results at both HIA2 and *** and balance perf.rmance were not associated with longer return and did not af.ect median days ***:Symptom presentation and evolution within 48 h of.concussion were associated with longer RTP *** may guide a more conservative approach to RTP,while still adhering to individualized concussion management principles.

Strengthening Active Aging through Older People’s Association and Economic Activity of.the Older People in Nepal

Aging is a natural lif.long process ending in death. Many older people are living in poverty. Older people are generally considered dependent on others as they grow older. The purpose of.this article is to explore the entrepreneurship activities of.Nepalese older adults. Data f.r this study were collected f.om the project Help Age International (HAI) implemented in Nepal. Qualitative data observations and interviews were used to collect data. The f.ndings of.this study show the f.rmation of.the Older People’s Association (OPA) has supported many older people to participate outside the home in various social activities. Moreover, regular deposits through OPAs of.er little help. OPAs support older people in their need of.f.nancial support to implement minor entrepreneurship. Older people who received support were pleased and were actively involved in their activities and also regularly deposited money in them. Subsequently, older people’s participation in social activities has increased and also helped to lower elderly abuse, loneliness, and depression. Local governments should promote such activities which will help with healthy aging.

Between Quantum Mechanics and General Relativity

The origin of.elementary particle mass is considered as a f.nction of.n-valued graviton quanta. To develop this concept we begin in a cold region of.“empty space” comprised of.only microscopic gravitons oscillating at angular f.equency ω. f.om opposite directions enters a pair of.stray protons. Upon colliding, heat and energy are released. Customarily, this phase and what f.llows af.erward would be described by Quantum Chromodynamics (QCD). Instead, we argue f.r an intermediary step. One in which neighboring gravitons absorb discrete amounts of.plane-wave energy. Captured by the graviton, the planewave becomes a standing wave, whereupon its electromagnetic energy densities are converted into gravitational quanta. Immediately thereaf.er an elementary particle is f.rmed and emitted, having both mass and spin. f.om absorption to conversion to emission occurs in less than 3.7 × 10−16 s. During this basic unit of.hybrid time, general relativity and quantum physics unite into a common set of.physical laws. As additional stray protons collide the process continues. Over eons, vast regions of.spacetime become populated with low-mass particles. These we recognize to be dark matter by its ef.ects on large scale structures in the universe. Its counterpart, dark energy, arises when the conversion of.gravitational quanta to particle emission is interrupted. This causes the gravitational quanta to be ejected. It is recognized by its large scale ef.ects on the universe.

Alarm calls are emitted by Richardson＇s ground squirrels Urocitellus richardsonii in response to avian and terrestrial predators. Conspecif.cs detecting these calls respond with increased vigilance, promoting predator detection and evasion, but in doing so, lose time f.om f.raging. That loss can be minimized if.alarm call recipients discriminate among signalers, and weight their response accordingly. f.r juvenile ground squirrels, we predicted that the trade-of. between f.raging and vigilance could be optimized via selective response to alarm calls emitted by their own dam, and/or neighboring colony members over calls broad- cast by less f.miliar conspecif.cs. Alarm calls of.adult f.male Richardson＇s ground squirrels were elicited in the f.eld using a predator model and recorded on digital audio tape. f.ee-living f.cal juveniles were subjected to playbacks of.a call of.their mother, and on a separate occasion a call f.om either another adult f.male f.om their own colony, or an adult f.male f.om another colony. Neither immediate postural responses and escape behavior, nor the duration of.vigilance manif.sted by juveniles dif.ered with exposure to alarm calls of.the three adult f.male signaler types. Thus, juveniles did not respond pref.rentially to alarm calls emitted by their mothers or colony members, likely ref.ecting the high cost of.ignoring alarm signals where receivers have had limited opportunity to establish past signaler reliability [Current Zoology 58 （5）： 773-780, 2012].
