A new on-line fault detection and isolation （FDI） scheme proposed for engines using an adaptive neural network classifier is evaluated for a wide range of operational modes to check the robustness of the scheme in this paper. The neural classifier is adaptive to cope with the significant parameter uncertainty, disturbances, and environment changes. The developed scheme is capable of diagnosing faults in on-line mode and the FDI for the closed-loop system with can be directly implemented in an on-board crankshaft speed feedback is investigated by diagnosis system （hardware）. The robustness of testing it for a wide range of operational modes including robustness against fixed and sinusoidal throttle angle inputs, change in load, change in an engine parameter, and all these changes occurring at the same time. The evaluations are performed using a mean value engine model （MVEM）, which is a widely used benchmark model for engine control system and FDI system design. The simulation results confirm the robustness of the proposed method for various uncertainties and disturbances.

A simple nitrobenzyl-umbelliferone （NCOU1） was synthesised containing a nitroreductase （NTR） trigger moiety. The presence of NTR, resulted in the fragmentation of the parent molecule and release of the highly emissive fluorophore umbelliferone via an NTR-catalyzed reduction of the nitro group. In the presence of the NTR enzyme, NCOU1 gave rise to a 5-fold increase in fluorescence intensity at 455 nm and was selective for NTR over other reductive enzymes. These results indicate that NCOU1 can be used as a simple assay for the detection of NTR.

＜正＞Neuropathic pain following nerve injury in humans may spread to areas far beyond the territory of the injured nerve（"Extraterritorial pain"） and contralaterally（"Mirror image pain"）,and in extreme cases occupy large body parts. Certain trigeminal pain syndromes are more prevalent in women than *** aims of this study are 1) to produce a model of trigeminal neuropathic pain in mice of the A/J,C57BL/6J（’B6’） and DBA/2J inbred strains;2) to compare the pain spread in this model in male and female mice,in order to recommend the recombinant inbred（RI） mice lines,which provide a powerful assay to identify Quantitative Trait Loci（QTLs） for chronic pain *** hundred and twenty adult male and female mice of A/J,DBA/2J,B6 strains were divided into 12 groups（n = 10 mice per strain,gender,sham and nerve- injury groups）.The tactile allodynia-like behavior was determined as the average response score to 3 separate poking trials with a stiff Von Frey hair applied to the ears,the plantar surface of the forepaws and hindpaws bilaterally,and the middle part of the tail on days -8 and -2（preoperatively）,and days 1,3,8,13 and 20 postoperatively（TO’）.Heat hyperlagesia was determined from the frequency of withdrawal responses to 5 noxious heat stimuli delivered from an infrared diode laser to the same loci as the tactile allodynia test except for the forepaws on days -10 and -3（preoperatively）,and days 7,14,21,35 and 49 *** males,we found that unilateral ION-X produced significant tactile allodynia in the contralateral ear of A/J *** tactile allodynia was found in other loci of them and in any loci in other ***-X did not produce significant heat hyperalgesia in any tested loci of all three mice ***,heat hyperalgesia was demonstrated in the contralateral ear of female A/J mice and in the tail of female A/J and DBA/2J mice,on d 14 and d 21 *** transection of the infra-orbital nerve produces in mice tactile allodynia and heat hyper

Background: Antibiotics are frequently prescribed for upper acute respiratory tract infections (ARI) in the emergency department. To reduce inappropriate overprescribing, it is necessary to understand factors influencing physicians’ decisions to prescribe antibiotics. Objective: Analyze the judgment policies of emergency physicians to determine factors predicting antibiotic use. Design: Paper case vignette study. Participants: 104 emergency physicians from Wisconsin. Measurements: We used judgment analysis to derive the policies of 104 emergency physicians from their responses to 20 case vignettes. We designed the cases such that each physician’s use of clinical findings and patient factors could be inferred from the decisions they made about each case. Findings were compared to primary care practitioners (PCPs) in Colorado responding to the same paper cases to examine differences in factors influencing prescribing among the two groups. Results: The emergency physicians said they would prescribe an antibiotic (yes/no) in 51.4% of cases compared with 44.5% in the Colorado study. The majority of emergency physicians gave the greatest weight to duration of illness (51%), followed by temperature (20%) and cough (12%). Conclusions: These emergency physicians prescribed antibiotics more frequently than the Colorado PCPs. There was little difference in how clinical findings were weighted, suggesting this was not the source of the higher prescription rate among the emergency physicians. The considerable emphasis on duration of illness suggests that this would be a productive area for educational efforts to reduce antibiotic prescribing for ARI in the emergency department.

We have synthesized three bis (thienyl) quinoxalinesilver(I) complexes;however, unlike analogous silver(I) complexes of pyridylquinoxaline that utilize (N, N) bidentate behavior from the quinoxaline and pyridyl ring nitrogens, the bis(thienyl) quinoxaline ligands did not utilize the bonding potential of the thienyl rings to give (N, S) bonding modes. PES spectra modeling of these ligands indicates that the preferential metal bonding via only the quinoxaline nitrogen atoms is due to the N-rich, but S-poor, characters of the frontier orbitals.

Burnout in the emergency department: Randomized controlled trial of an attention-based training program

Background: Burnout(encompassing emotional exhaustion, depersonalization and personal accomplishment) in healthcare professionals is a major issue worldwide. Emergency medicine physicians are particularly affected, potentially impacting on quality of care and attrition from the ***: The aim of this study was to apply an attention-based training(ABT) program to reduce burnout among emergency multidisciplinary team(MDT) members from a large urban ***, setting, participants and interventions: Emergency MDT members were randomized to either a notreatment control or an intervention group. Intervention group participants engaged in a four session(4 h/session) ABT program over 7 weeks with a practice target of 20 min twice-daily. Practice adherence was measured using a smart phone application together with a wearable Charge 2 *** outcome measures: The primary outcome was a change in burnout, comprising emotional exhaustion, depersonalization and personal achievement. The secondary outcomes were changes in other psychological and biometric ***: The ABT program resulted in a significant reduction(P < 0.05; T1 [one week before intervention]vs T3 [follow-up at two months after intervention]) in burnout, specifically, emotional exhaustion, with an effect size(probability of superiority) of 59%. Similar reductions were observed for stress(P < 0.05) and anxiety(P < 0.05). Furthermore, ABT group participants demonstrated significant improvements in heart rate variability, resting heart rate, sleep as well as an increase in pro-inflammatory cytokine ***: This study describes a positive impact of ABT on emergency department staff burnout compared to a no-treatment control group.
