An unusual cause of optic neuritis:rickettsiosis disease

Optic neuritis(ON) may be associated to a range of autoimmune or infectious *** report herein a case of ON induced by Rickettsia conorii.A 53-year-old woman presented with a recent decrease in visual acuity and *** was diagnosed on the basis of ophthalmologic examination and flash visual evoked *** investigation made in our department eliminated first autoimmune disorders(vasculitis and connective tissue diseases).Rickettsial optic neuritis was confirmed by detection of specific antibodies in serum and the negativity of other serologic *** association between corticosteroids and cyclines was prescribed with improvement of visual acuity.

Since 3D mesh security has become intellectual property,3D watermarking algorithms have continued to appear to secure 3D meshes shared by remote users and saved in distant multimedia *** novelty of our approach is that it uses a new Clifford-multiwavelet transform to insert copyright data in a multiresolution domain,allowing us to greatly expand the size of the *** that,our method does two rounds of insertion,each applying a different type of Clifford-wavelet *** being placed into the Clifford-multiwavelet coefficients,the watermark,which is a mixture of the mesh description,source mesh signature(produced using SHA512),and a logo encrypted using the RSA(Ronald Shamir Adleman)technique,is encoded using *** the Least Significant Bit method steps,data embedding involves modulation and insertion ***,the watermarked mesh is reconstructed using the inverse Cliffordmultiwavelet *** to the utilization of a hybrid insertion domain,our technique has demonstrated a very high insertion rate while retaining mesh *** mesh is watermarked,and the extracted data is acquired in *** approach is also resistant to the most common types of *** findings reveal that the current approach improves on previous efforts.

Robust Adaptive Control for Mobile Manipulators

This paper addresses the trajectory tracking control of a nonholonomic wheeled mobile manipulator with parameter uncertainties and disturbances. The proposed algorithm adopts a robust adaptive control strategy where parametric uncertainties are compensated by adaptive update techniques and the disturbances are suppressed. A kinematic controller is first designed to make the robot follow a desired end-effector and platform trajectories in task space coordinates simultaneously. Then, an adaptive control scheme is proposed, which ensures that the trajectories are accurately tracked even in the presence of external disturbances and uncertainties. The system stability and the convergence of tracking errors to zero are rigorously proven using Lyapunov theory. Simulations results are given to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed robust adaptive control law in comparison with a sliding mode controller.

BACKGROUND Diagnosis of coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)-related neurological events in the pediatric population is *** clinical picture of children with altered neurological state and inborn errors of metabolism,in addition to the frequency of asymptomatic COVID-19 cases,pose the main challenges for *** approaches to the onset post-COVID 19 subacute encephalopathy are still troublesome as seronegative autoimmune encephalitis(AIE)is *** SUMMARY A 27-mo-old boy was admitted for stormy refractory seizure of polymorphic semiology and altered mental status followed by various neuropsychiatric features that were suggestive of *** magnetic resonance imaging and cerebrospinal fluid analysis were *** the immunological assessment,including viral serologies,antinuclear antibodies,autoimmune antibodies(NMDA,AMPA,CASPR2,LG11,GABARB,Hu,Yo,Ri,CV2,PNMA2,SOX1,Titin,amphiphysin,Recoverin),nor the metabolic assessment for lactate and pyruvate showed significant *** positive history of COVID-19 infection and the findings of characteristic repetitive extreme delta brush played a key role in the diagnosis of COVID-19-related AIE.A remarkable improvement in the state of the child was noted after two pulse doses of intravenous Veinoglobulin and high dose of intravenous *** Diagnostic biomarkers for AIE might aid effective treatment.

Twenty-five patients with alopecia totalis (AT) or alopecia universalis and 124 patientswith alopecia areata (AA) were treated with photochemotherapy, combining topical 8-methoxypsoralen (8-MOP) with UV irradiation of the scalp at a phototoxic dose. The mean energy required was 15 J/cm2 for AA and 42 J/cm2 for AT. Ninety-four patients had multiple bald patches and 12 with AT had complete or > 50% hair regrowth. Positive treatment results did not seem to depend on the age of onset or the duration of the disease. Few side-effects of topical psoralens plus UVA (PUVA) treatment were noted, except a for few days of slight erythema caused by the high dose of UV.
