The collaborative effort of an international research team from the Early Career Psychiatrists section of the World Psychiatry Association has brought about an easy-to-use,quick and stepwise mental health care toolkit for the identification and appropriate referral of those in need of mental health care during the *** simple guide can be applied in the general outpatient setting and is catered for all healthcare professionals,regardless of their expertise within the mental health field with minimal *** is our hope that by incorporating this toolkit into our daily clinical care during the pandemic for high-risk patients and patients with non-specific complaints,we will be able to bridge the mental health gap present in our society.

We present the structural,morphological and photocatalytic properties of stretchable composites made with carbon nanotubes (CNTs),silicon rubber and Ni@TiO_(2):W nanoparticles(TiWNi NPs) with average size of 37±2 *** images showed that the TiWNi NPs decorated the surface of the CNT fibers,which are oriented in a preferential *** NPs presented a mixture of anatase/rutile phases with cubic *** performance of the TiWNi powders and stretchable composites was evaluated for the photocatalytic degradation of diclofenac (DCF) anti-inflammatory drug under ultraviolet-visible *** results revealed that the maximum DCF degradation percentages were 34.6%,91.9%,97.1%,98.5%and 100%for the CNT composite (stretched at 0%),TiWNi powders,CNT+TiWNi(stretched at 0%),CNT+TiWNi (stretched at 50%) and CNT+TiWNi (stretched at 100%),***,stretching the CNT+TiWNi composites was a good strategy to enhance the DCF degradation percentage from 97.1%to 100%,since stretching created additional defects (oxygen vacancies) that acted as electron sink,delaying the electron-hole recombination,and favors the DCF ***/absorbance measurements confirmed the presence of such ***,the reactive oxygen species (ROS) were determined by the scavenger’s experiments and found that the main ROS were the·OH and O_(2)-radicals,which attacked the DCF molecules,causing their *** results of this investigation confirmed that the stretchable CNT/TiWNi-based composites are a viable alternative to remove pharmaceutical contaminants from water and can be manually separated from the decontaminated water,which is unviable using photocatalytic powders.

New discriminant-function-based multidimensional discrimination of mid-ocean ridge and oceanic plateau

From a compilation of geochemical data for the discrimination of the tectonic settings of mid-ocean ridge(mOR;3730 samples)and oceanic plateau(OP;3656 samples),we present two new discriminant functions and diagrams obtained from censored multivariate discordant outlier-free *** different sets of data(original concentrations as well as isometric log-ratio transformed(ilr)variables;all 10 major(m)elements as well as all 10 major and 6 trace elements mT)were used to evaluate the quality of discrimination from linear discriminant analysis(LDA)and canonical *** selected multidimensional models ilrm(9 ilr transformed variables of multi-normally distributed 10 major elements)and ilrmT(15 ilr transformed variables of multi-normally distributed combined 10 major and 6 trace elements),considered as the best or most representative(total of5650 samples for ilrm and 2858 for ilrmT),provided percent success values,respectively,of 80.9%for the mOR and 81.1%for the OP(ilrm)and 88.5%for the mOR and 90.1%for the OP(ilrmT).Both processes(log-ratio transformation and multi-normality)rendered the percent success values similar for both groups(mOR and OP).The respective discriminant functions were successfully used for four tests from known tectonic settings and four application cases(two for ophiolites and two for Precambrian rocks),documenting thus the utility of the new discrimination procedure for the mOR and OP tectonic ***,we showed that our multidimensional procedure is robust against analytical errors or uncertainties,as well as post-emplacement compositional changes caused by element mobility from both low or high temperature *** robustness against the gain or loss of a single element at a time was also documented,from which the ilrmT model was evaluated as more robust than the ilrm model.A new online computer program mOROPdisc was written in Java Framework ZK,which is freely available for use at our web portal http://***

Preparation and characterization of phosphate-modified mesoporous TiO2 incorporated in a silica matrix and their photocatalytic properties in the photodegradation of Congo red

This study describes the development of mesostructured TiO2 photo- catalysts modified with PO4^3- to improve its specific surface area and reduce the recombination rate of the electron-hole pairs. The mesoporous photocatalyst was successfully incorporated into a high specific surface area silica matrix by the hydrolysis reaction of tetraethyl orthosilicate （TEOS）. Pluronic 123 and phosphoric acid were used as the directing agent for the structure of the mesoporous TiO2 and as a source of phosphorus, respectively, TiO2, P/TiO2, TiO2-SiO2 and P/TiO2-SiO2 materials were characterized by BET, XRD, TEm-EDS, FTIR and UV-vis DRS measurements. The photoactivity of TiO2-SiO2 nanocomposites containing 15 wt.% photocatalystJsilica was evaluated in the degradation reaction of anionic dyes with UV radiation. The proposed nanomaterials showed high potential for applications in the remediation of wastewater, being able to reuse in several cycles of reaction, maintaining its photoactivity and stability. The separation and recovery time of the material is reduced between cycles since no centrifugation or filtration processes are required after the photooxidation reaction.

First isolation and identification of H1N1 swine influenza viruses in Colombian pig farms

The pig industry in Colombia has grown 30% in the last decade achieving high levels of technology and efficiency;in spite of that, respiratory diseases remain a constraint. Since 1970, serological evidence and histological findings suggested the role of swine influenza virus (SIV) as part of the porcine respiratory disease complex;nevertheless, elusive and molecular typing isolates are missing. This study was aimed at isolating SIV from intensive pig farms and to achieve molecular characterization to determine strains circulating in the field. In order to accomplish this goal, 242 samples were taken from nasal swabs, 25 from bronchial washes and 8 from lung tissue. Samples were collected during a period of three years, between 2008 and 2010 and were originated from 78 farms of the three main pig production regions of the country. The samples were transported in BHI broth with 2% antibiotic and antimycotic solution and stored at –70?C until processed. The swabs were inoculated in 9 - 11 days old embryo chicken eggs and in mDCK (madin Darby Canine Kidney) cell cultures with the addition of trypsin. The isolates were identified by the HA (hemoagglutination) test and by RT-PCR targeting the HA (hemagglutinin), NA (Neuraminidase) and m (matrix) genes. Full length sequence of the HA and NA glycoproteins from four selected virus isolates was conducted (macrogen?. USA). As a result, fifteen SIV isolates from nine farms distributed in the three regions were obtained. Twelve of the isolates are related to the swine origin H1N1 virus that caused the 2009 influenza pandemic. The remaining three viruses were related to classical swine influenza viruses.

Age, maximum Cup Depth, Central Corneal Thickness, Disc Area and mean Defect in Patients with Open Angle Glaucoma and Ocular Hypertension

Purpose: The main objective was to analyze the relationship between maximum cup depth (mCD), mean defect (mD), central corneal thickness (CCT), age and disc area, in patients with ocular hypertension (OHT) and primary open angle glaucoma (POAG). methods: Cross-sectional study of patients diagnosed with OHT and POAG. Visual fields were obtained using an Octopus 300 analyzer, TOP strategy. mCD and disc area were obtained using a Heidelberg Retina Tomograph. Results: The study sample comprised 234 eyes of 143 patients, 91 women and 52 men, mean age 63.55 years (SD 10.49). mean values were: mCD 0.52 mm (SD 0.27), mD 2.78 dB (SD 5.02), CCT 543.5 μm (SD 36.63), IOP 16.73 mmHg (SD 2.93), and disc area 2.01 mm2 (SD 0.39). A significant correlation was observed between mCD and age in patients under 60 years, between mCD and disc area, and between mD and disc area. Conclusions: Our study showed a correlation between mCD and age which was significant in patients under 60 years of age, between mCD and disc area and between mD and disc area, suggesting that the larger the disc area, the greater the mCD and the mD in patients with OHT and POAG.

Use of <i>Rosmarinus officinalis</i>as Green Corrosion Inhibitor for Carbon Steel in Acid medium

The use of Rosmarinus officinalis as a corrosion inhibitor for 1018 carbon steel in 0.5 m H2SO4 has been evaluated by using weight loss, potentiodynamic polarization curves and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy techniques at 25°. Inhibitor concentrations were included within the range between 0 and 1000 ppm C using three extract solvents, namely acetone, hexane and methanol. Results have shown that Rosmarinus officinalis is a good corrosion inhibitor with its efficiency increasing with the concentration. The best efficiency was obtained with the hexanic extract. The passivating film properties of the steel were improved by the presence of flavonoids in the extract.

Effect of beverages with different protein profiles on postprandial blood glucose response in overweight and obese men

Positive postprandial blood glucose responses have been related to low glycemic index (GI) and low glycemic load (GL) diets. The objective was to determine the effect of protein profile on glycemic response of low glycinin soymilk (high in β-conglycinin) (LGS) and conventional soymilk (S) in overweight and obese men. Twenty-four subjects, 23 - 45 years old, average BmI of 29 (26 - 38) with triglycerides mg/dL consumed 250 mL of LGS, S with identical macronutrient content, with bovine milk (m) as reference. Fasting blood samples were followed by samples at 15, 30, 45, 60, 90, and 120 min after the milk consumption. One-day diet record, anthropometrics, and a demographic interview were completed. LGS and S presented a GI of (average ± standard deviation) 41.0 ± 29.9 and 40.4 ± 37.2, respectively. m showed a GI of 29.2 ± 25.3, however, treatment effect was not significant (P = 0.338). Similarly, GL for LGS (4.52 ± 3.29), S (4.44 ± 4.09) and m (2.33 ± 1.01) were not significantly different (P = 0.107). Postprandial glucose concentration curves for LGS, S and m presented the same tendency throughout 120 min (P = 0.331). Fasting blood glucose correlated with GI (r = -0.553;P = 0.032) and GL (r = -0.567;P = 0.028). LGS, S and m are low GI products and postprandial glycemic responses were not different. The high content of the protein β-conglycinin in LGS did not have an effect in postprandial blood glucose response in over-weight and obese men.

In the mexican tropics the guava trees can grow and produce in any season, so they can be har-vested out of the period of high competition marketing (Summer). It?studied the growth kinetics of leaves and fruits of guava trees at the dry tropical conditions of the State of Guerrero, in guava trees of four years old and was evaluated a non-destructive method for measuring leaf area from November to may. 100 sheets of 10 randomly selected trees were cut. It was found that leaf length X the width X 0.72581647 (conversion factor) gave an estimated leaf area which?was significantly correlated with that obtained by the integrator of leaf area. Both in length and width the leaf growth kinetics were sigmoid with three growth stages: In Stage I (15 days) leaves grew 21.2% and 21.5%;in Stage II (26 days) grew 73.6% and 68%;and in Stage III (30 days). They Increased 5.2% and 10.5% in the primary and secondary sprouts. The fruit growth in its equatorial and polar diameters corresponded to a double sigmoid kinetics. In Stage I (61 days) it reached 1.9 and 2.3 cm;in Stage II (62 - 102 days) it reached 3.09 and 3.62 cm;and in Stage III (103 to 126 days) it reached 4.63 and 5.13 cm, as well the physiological maturity of fruit.
