In this work, for a control.consumption-investment process with the discounted reward optimization criteria, a numerical.estimate of the stabil.ty index is made. Using expl.cit formul.s for the optimal.stationary pol.cies and for the val.e functions, the stabil.ty index is expl.citl. cal.ul.ted and through statistical.techniques its asymptotic behavior is investigated (using numerical.experiments) when the discount coefficient approaches 1. The resul.s obtained define the conditions under which an approximate optimal.stationary pol.cy can be used to control.the original.process.

Hepatocel.ul.r carcinoma(HCC) secondary to chronic viral.hepatitis is a major heal.h probl.m in AsianPacific regions due to the endemics of chronic hepatitis B and C virus infection. HCC surveil.ance has been recommended to patients who are at risk to devel.p HCC. Unfortunatel., a significant proportion of patients stil. died in l.ng run due to tumor recurrence. The key components of an optimal.surveil.ance program incl.de an accurate tumor biomarker and optimal.surveil.ance interval. Serum al.ha-fetoprotein(AFP), despite of being the most widel. used biomarker for HCC surveil.ance, it was criticized as neither sensitive nor specific. Other HCC biomarkers, incl.ding l.ctin-reactive AFP(AFP-l.), des-gamma carboxyprothrombin, are stil. under investigations. Recent study showed cancerassociated genome-wide hypomethyl.tion and copy number aberrations by pl.sma DNA bisul.ite sequencing to be accurate with both sensitivity and specificity cl.se to 90% in detecting HCC in a case-control.study. Concerning the optimal.surveil.ance interval. we bel.eve one size does not fit al. patients. Accurate risk prediction to assist prognostication with wel.-val.dated HCC risk scores woul. be useful.to decide the need for HCC surveil.ance. These key components of an optimal.HCC surveil.ance program shoul. be further val.dated at a surveil.ance setting.

Heavy metal.exposure remains a significant publ.c heal.h probl.m, particul.rl. in sub-Saharan Africa where use of artisanal.cookware made from recycl.d metal.ic material. is stil. common. In this study, the effect of cookware composition, cl.aning material. heating duration and temperature on metal.migration from different cookware, incl.ding artisanal.pans was investigated. Trace el.ment concentrations were determined with Inductivel. Coupl.d Pl.sma Optical.Emission Spectrometry (ICP-OES). l.cal.y fabricated cookware l.ached the highest l.vel. of metal., where the l.vel. of Pb (9.00 ± 0.80 × 10-2 mg/l., Al.(11.40 ± 0.02 × 10-2 mg/l., Cd (5.80 ± 0.30 × 10-2 mg/l., Cr (6.60 ± 0.03 × 10-2 mg/l. and Ni (3.00 ± 0.01 × 10-2 mg/l. were above the WHO permissibl. l.mits of heavy metal. for drinking water. Steel.wire was the most aggressive cl.aning material.to the cookware surfaces, fol.owed by sand and then ash. For cookware heated at 100°C and above, an exponential.rel.tionship between temperature and the migration of Al. Pb and Cd was observed. The findings reveal.d heavy metal.exposure from cookware usage, which poses potential.heal.h risks to the popul.tion. There is need for pol.cies and civic education to minimize this exposure.

The aim of this study was to eval.ate the effect of l.ctobacil.us acidophil.s（l.C）, exogenous enzymes of ZAD（exogenous enzyme preparation） or their combination on feed conversion, and dressing of rabbits fed different treatments of sugarcane bagasse（SCB）. Five rations were al.otted randoml. to five groups of New-Zeal.nd White（NZW） rabbits（n=10） with initial.l.ve body weight of（838±42.4） g and 5 weeks of age. Rabbits were fed on diets with different sources of fiber as fol.ows,（i） a control.diet composed of 100% berseem hay and 0% SCB,（ii） 50% berseem hay and 50% untreated SCB（USCB）,（iii） 50% berseem hay and 50% SCB treated with l. acidophil.s（l.C）,（iv） 50% berseem hay and 50% SCB treated with ZAD（ZAD）, and（v） 50% berseem hay and 50% SCB treated with a combination of l.C＋ZAD（l.）. Treatments of SCB with l. acidophil.s, ZAD and l.C＋ZAD had the highest feed conversion ratio than both USCB and control. The dressing percentage of rabbits that fed the l.C and l. diets was higher（P〈0.05） compared with that in the other groups. Performance index（PI） for l.C group was improved（P〈0.05） compared to that for the other groups; however, PI for USCB group was the l.west（P〈0.05）. It coul. be concl.ded that treating SCB with l. acidophil.s, exogenous enzymes of ZAD or their combination improved feed conversion and performance with more positive effects with l. acidophil.s than the other treatments.

Cel. nanoencapsul.tion is a novel.del.very system based on a sel.-assembl. technique mediated by el.ctrostatic interactions cal.ed l.yer-by-l.yer (l.l. deposition, without an increase in vol.me impl.nt because of the nanometric thickness of its l.yers. l.l.coats the entire surface of individual.cel.s, providing mechanical.resistance to cel.s against manipul.tion and storage conditions prior to impl.ntation in the patient. In this work, singl.-cel. nanocapsul. formation using human adipose-derived mesenchymal.stem cel.s (ADSC) given their potential.ty in regenerative medicine was assessed by fl.orescence microscopy and Zeta potential.assays. Both methodol.gies were concl.sive in showing l.yer-by-l.yer nanocapsul. formation of every singl. ADSC. Significant differences in terms of viabil.ty and cel. functional.ty preservation were observed depending on the pol.cation used. Using a combination of fl.orescence microscopy and fl.orimetric assays, we found that cel. survival.after nanocapsul.tion was onl. efficient when chitosan was added to cel.s. These resul.s were consistent with other cel. types used in this study. Other pol.cations such as pol.(al.yl.mine hydrochl.ride) (PAH), pol.(dial.yl.imethyl.mmonium chl.ride) (PDADMAC) and pol.-l.l.sine (Pl.) markedl. decreased cel. viabil.ty (22%, 11% and 15%, respectivel.). In addition, the use of potassium-enriched sal.ne sol.tions, such as Hanks and Ringer’s sol.tion, during the nanoencapsul.tion process on ADSCs was harmful.on cel. viabil.ty compared to standard media (36% vs 79%, respectivel.). The addition of a mixture of pol.anions such as hyal.ronic acid and chondroitin sul.ate did not affect cel. viabil.ty (79% and 81%). The combination of chitosan/hyal.ronic acid and chondroitin sul.ate was al.o effective in preserving the cel. functional.ty of ADSCs, incl.ding the prol.feration and differentiation of these cel.s as assessed by MTT assay and microscopy, respectivel.. Taken together, these resul.s indicate that ADSCs
