Properties of a Scale of Self-Care Behaviors Facing COVID-19:An Exploratory Ana.ysis in a Sample of University Students in Huanuco,Peru

The general objective of this article was to construct and describe the psychometric properties of a scale of selfcare behaviors against *** was a descriptive,cross-sectional,psychometric validation study of a scale created to measure self-care behaviors in relation to COVID-19 in a total sample of 333 probabilistically *** validity was evaluated by a review of 10 experts and quantitative validity by means of exploratory factor ana.ysis using the principal components *** consistency was measured with Cronbach’s alpha twice and the test-retest was evaluated by calculating the intraclass *** final scale consisted of 29 *** Kaiser-Meyer-Olkin test of adequa.y yielded a value of 0.926,and the Bartlett’s test of sphericity X^(2)=4611 with a p-valuey the three retained factors with a total of 29 items was 50.03%.The Cronbach’s alpha internal consistency evaluation yielded an initial value of 0.923 and,in a second evaluation,showed a value of *** addition,the intraclass coefficient in the test-retest yielded a value of *** instrument created and validated possessed the necessa.y conditions as a useful and reliable tool for measuring self-care behaviors in relation to COVID-19 in a population of university students and it is important that it can be applied in other regions of the world.

The general objective of this article is to show the relationship that exists in the COVID-19 pandemic,the mental health of people and the propensity for work-related accidents in *** results are shown that detail how COVID-19 has generated and is generating mental alterations in people such as post-traumatic stress dis-order,PTSD for its acronym in ***,data are presented that report the inﬂuence of mental health as a precursor to workplace accidents in different industries,with which it can be concluded that COVID-19 needs a comprehensive approach in companies to prevent it from negatively impacting workers and they end up acci-dent during their daily *** concrete actions are proposed to promote and avoid in companies so that workers can be better managed in times of a COVID-19 pandemic.

Beyond authorship: Ana.yzing contributions in PLOS ONE and the challenges of appropriate attribution

Virtual Transmission Solution Based on Battery Energy Storage Systems to Boost Transmission Capacity

The increasing penetration of variable renewable energy(VRE)generation along with the decommissioning of conventional power plants in Chile,has raised several operational challenges in the Chilean National Power Grid(NPG),including transmission congestion and VRE *** mitigate these limitations,an innovative virtual transmission solution based on battery energy storage systems(BESSs),known as grid booster(GB),has been proposed to increase the capacity of the main 500 kV corridor of the *** paper ana.yzes the dynamic performance of the GB using a wide-area electromagnetic transient(EMT)model of the *** GB project,composed of two 500 MVA BESS units at each extreme of the 500 kV corridor,allows increasing the transmission capacity for 15 min during N-1 contingencies,overcoming transmission limitations under normal operation conditions while maintaining system stability during *** dynamic behavior of the GB is also ana.yzed to control power flow as well as voltage *** results show that the GB is an effective solution to allow greater penetration of VRE generation while maintaining system stability in the NPG.

Grouping tree species to estimate basal area increment in temperate multispecies forests in Durango,Mexico

Multispecies forests have received increased scientific attention,driven by the hypothesis that biodiversity improves ecological ***,a greater species diversity presents challenges for forest management and *** study aims to develop basal area growth models for tree species *** ana.ysis is based on a dataset of 423 permanent plots(2,500 m^(2))located in temperate forests in Durango,***,we define tree species cohorts based on individual and neighborhood-based variables using a combination of principal component and cluster ***,we estimate the basal area increment of each cohort through the generalized additive model to describe the effect of tree size,competition,stand density and site *** principal component and cluster ana.yses assign a total of 37 tree species to eight cohorts that differed primarily with regard to the distribution of tree size and vertical position within the *** generalized additive models provide satisfactory estimates of tree growth for the species cohorts,explaining between 19 and 53 percent of the total variation of basal area increment,and highlight the following results:i)most cohorts show a"rise-and-fall"effect of tree size on tree growth;ii)surprisingly,the competition index"basal area of larger trees"had showed a positive effect in four of the eight cohorts;iii)stand density had a negative effect on basal area increment,though the effect was minor in medium-and high-density stands,and iv)basal area growth was positively correlated with site quality except for an oak *** developed species cohorts and growth models provide insight into their particular ecological features and growth patterns that may support the development of sustainable management strategies for temperate multispecies forests.

Social services are a protection system that seeks to assist people throughout their *** is essential for enabling us to respond to the problems that society is currently facing and to adapt to our changing *** paper validates an instrument based on the Public Innovation Hexagon(PIH),for measuring the degree to which an innovation culture is being implemented in the Spanish social services system.A sample group of social services professionals were asked to complete a questionnaire based on the variables that make up the PIH *** our initial validation of the PIH model,we reduced the 42 initial items to 32,while maintaining the initial six *** objective was to eliminate redundant items and ensure that the resulting end model was more solid and *** new improved model(PIHn)that we created achieved greater consistency with a smaller number of items while maintaining the initial six dimensions.

Designing for well-Being: Using facial micro-expression ana.ysis and EEG biosensor to evaluate human responses to 2D biophilically-driven geometries

This research explores the capacity of emerging technologies to enhance well-being. It involves the generation of 2D biophilically-driven geometries to represent human-response-oriented built environments and conducts inter and intra-individual ana.yses to assess human responses using a range of technologies within the realms of facial micro-expression ana.ysis and EEG biosensor use. The outcomes of this ana.ysis allow for the grading of these geometries in terms of emotional valences, meditation levels, and subjective preferences. These graded geometries can subsequently be employed in specific architectural contexts, such as interior decor, wallpapers, furniture surfaces, or other architectural and interior components. It is an interdisciplina.y effort that underscores the importance of incorporating emerging technological means with human-response-oriented design approaches to foster built environments that promote well-being.
