MIMO-WiMAX system incorporated with diverse transformation for 5G applications

Wireless systems and standards are now progressing toward the implementation of fifth generation (5G) to combat with an expected and explosive growth of demands of wireless services in future. Consequently, wireless interoperability for microwave access (WiMAX) with orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) technology at its physical layer is being utilized for the uplink and downlink transmission to afford the high spectral efficiency in fading environments. However, the 5G implementation requires additional improvements to meet the futuristic stress. This work proposes an innovative solution that combines WiMAX system with multiple input multiple output (MIMO) technology to meet the required elevated data rates as desired by the growing application needs of 5G. MIMO is capable to fulfil the vision of 5G to realize a huge number of base stations equipped with a large number of terminals to be served in the same time-frequency resource without severe inter-user interference. Furthermore, the proposed system is demon- strated incorporation with discrete wavelet transform (DWT), and fractional Fourier transforms (FrFTs) in the physical layer of the WiMAX system. The evaluated outcomes exemplify a considerable improvement in bit error rate (BER) performance in contrast with the earlier reported work.

Energy levels and emission line wavelengths of high-Z materials are useful for impurity diagnostics due to their potential application in the next generation fusion *** this purpose,we have calculated the fine structural energies of the 67 levels belonging to the 1s 2,1s2l,1s3l,1s4l,1s5l,and 1s6l configurations of Kr XXXV using GRASP（general purpose relativistic atomic structure package） ***,we have reported the transition probabilities,oscillator strengths,line strengths,and transition wavelengths for some electric dipole（E1） transitions among these *** predict new energy levels and radiative rates,which have not been reported experimentally or theoretically,forming the basis for future experimental work.

Disseminated cysticercosis presenting with bilateral proptosis: A case report

In the second episode of encephalopathy, the patient ***: Disseminated ***: Corticosteroids(Initially intravenous dexamethasone 0.4 mg/kg/day for 2 weeks, followed by oral prednisolone 1.0 mg/kg/day).Outcomes: The patient died of cysticercosis encephalitis approximately 2 months ***: Disseminated cysticercosis in our case presented only with proptosis as he had very heavy infestation of the brain and eyes. Heavy larval infestation in a patient with disseminated cysticercosis can be life-threatening.

Impact of geographical and seasonal temperature on sperm parameters in Indian men who were partners in subfertile couples-A retrospective analysis

Objective:To evaluate the impact of seasonal and geographical temperature on sperm parameters in Indian men who were partners in subfertile ***:A retrospective review of the records of semen analysis from January 2009 to December 2017 that was performed as part of primary evaluation of infertile couple was *** values of various semen parameters were compared between seasons using one-way analysis of variance test followed by Bonferroni pair wise post-hoc comparison *** Pearson correlation coefficient was applied to measure the correlation between age,sperm parameters and annual temperature/*** logistic regression analysis was further carried out to identify significant variables contributing to normal progressive motility of ***:A total of 3433 reports of semen samples were *** was no significant seasonal variation in the mean volume,concentration,and total motility levels(P>0.05)except the mean values of progressive motility(P<0.001).The mean values of progressive motility during pre-monsoon were significantly higher compared to the corresponding values during monsoon and autumn seasons(P<0.01).In all the seasons,total motility had significant positive correlation with sperm concentration and progressive motility(P<0.05).Pre-monsoon emerged as the significant favourable season to get normal progressive motility level(OR 1.32,95%CI 1.04-1.68)compared to *** chances of getting normal progressive motility reduced due to longer abstinence period(OR 0.87,95%CI 0.80-0.93).When the temperature was more than 28℃,the likelihood of getting normal progressive motility decreased(OR 0.70,95%CI 0.51-0.95).Conclusions:The progressive motility of sperms significantly decreases from pre-monsoon to autumn with recovery towards winter,which substantiates the effect of rising temperature on the progressive motility of *** is clinically important to counsel infertile patients,so that they can plan their treat

BACKGROUND: Primary biliary cirrhosis (PBC) is a rare cause of chronic liver disease in India. We analyzed the clinical, biochemical, serological and histological features of patients with PBC for over a 10-year period. METHODS: PBC was diagnosed by the presence of raised level of serum alkaline phosphatase (ALP), anti-mitochondrial antibody (AMA) positivity (1:40 dilution), and/or diagnostic liver histology. RESULTS:Fifteen female patients with mean age of 46.5±11 years were studied. Pruritis (80%) followed by jaundice (67%), skin changes (pigmentation, coarsening, xanthelesma and vitiligo) (67%) and fatigue (60%) were common symptoms. The mean duration of the symptoms was 3.5± 5.4 years (3 months to 20 years). Dryness of eyes was observed in only 2 patients. Hepatomegaly was noted in 87% of the patients and ascites at presentation in 40%. Mean levels of bilirubin and albumin at the time of diagnosis were 3.4±3.3 mg/dl and 3.5±0.8 g/dl, respectively. The level of serum ALP ranged from 54 to 2400 IU/L, with a median being 552 IU/L (2×ULN). In all the 15 patients with AMA positive, 8(53%) were also positive for either anti-nuclear or anti-smooth muscle antibodies. Two patients presented with persistently elevated SAP after an acute hepatitic illness. Liver biopsy was available in 13 patients, diagnostic of PBC Ⅱ & Ⅲ(8) and with evidence of cirrhosis (5). Associated autoimmune disorders were observed in 5 patients (33%). The mean time for follow-up was 26±21 months (1 to 87 months). In 4 deaths, 3 were due to liver related causes. CONCLUSION: PBC is a rare cause of chronic liver disease in India. PBC in India, unlike in the West, presents late, often with features of cirrhosis and decompensation.

Aggression and Conduct Disorder in Young Children. A Case Report

Childhood Onset Conduct Disorder [CD] is a condition characterized by at least one symptom of conduct disorder (based on Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders criteria—Fifth Edition) prior to 10 years of age. Children affected exhibit disruptive behaviors, usually negative, hostile, and defiant behavior similar to Oppositional Defiant Disorder [ODD]. As the child gets older they begin to display more characteristic of Conduct Disorder (lying, fighting, and stealing, vindictive behavior). These children are also likely to have comorbidities including Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), learning disabilities, poor academic achievement, and substance abuse. Distinguishing early between symptoms of Conduct Disorder versus other differential diagnoses is essential in effective treatment. Early intervention with these children leads to a better prognosis and likelihood of functioning in society. This case illustrates the difficulty of diagnosing a young child with Childhood Onset Conduct Disorder.

Predictors of cerebrospinal fluid GeneXpert MTB/RIF positivity in patients with tuberculous meningitis:A prospective cohort study

Objective:To identify the clinical,laboratory,and radiological markers that could predict a positive GeneXpert result in patients suspected of tuberculous ***:In this prospective,observational study,patients with tuberculous meningitis were systematically *** clinical,laboratory[including cerebrospinal fluid(CSF)microscopy,culture,and GeneXpert],and neuroimaging factors were *** participants were administered anti-tuberculous treatment and corticosteroids.A six-month follow-up was done to evaluate the ***:Of the 116 patients studied,54(46.6%)tested positive for GeneXpert,while 62(53.4%)were *** cranial nerve involvement(OR 3.71,95%CI 1.052-13.09,P=0.04)and the presence of basal exudates on neuroimaging(OR 5.22,95%CI 2.03-13.42,P=0.001)emerged as independent predictive factors for a positive GeneXpert result.A positive CSF GeneXpert result(P=0.002)and drug resistance(P=0.004)were significantly linked to adverse ***,a high score on the Medical Research Council stageⅢ(OR 5.64,95%CI 1.18-26.87,P=0.03)and elevated CSF cell counts(OR 1.002,95%CI 1.00-1.001,P=0.03)were identified as independent predictors of poor ***:Third cranial nerve involvement and the presence of basal exudates were significant indicators of a positive GeneXpert *** stageⅢdisability and elevated CSF cell counts predicted poor outcomes.
