Excessive construction activities generate huge quantities of waste that are disposed of in nearby sites,leading to environmental *** the concrete fractions of construction wastes for their utilization as aggregates has been predominant among industrialists and researchers in recent ***,the smearance of cement mortar on the recycled aggregates affects the concrete *** treatments were developed to remove the weak cement mortar or seal the micro-pores on the adhered cement mortar of recycled *** paper investigates the comparative efficiency of acid and carbonation treatment on recycled coarse aggregate(RCA)properties and its behaviour on recycled aggregate concrete(RAC).The RCA was treated with HCl acid at 0.1 mol/L,0.5 mol/L,and 0.8 mol/L and CO_(2) at 0.1 bar,0.2 bar,and 0.4 bar and tested for their physical properties,and the concrete mixtures with treated recycled aggregates were tested for fresh and hardened *** could be observed that the properties of RAC were affected owing to the smearance of weak mortar,whereas for the concrete with carbonated(RACc)and chemically treated aggregates(RACa),the concrete properties tended to *** strength of RAC was 28.59%less than that of normal aggregate concrete(NAC),whereas the strength of RACc and RACa was enhanced by 16.44%and 9.7%compared to that of RAC at 28 *** water absorption of RAC was 47.51%more than that of NAC,whereas the water absorption of RACa and RACc was 28.67%and 33.75%lesser than ***-soaking the RCA with acids removes the adhered mortar due to its acidic *** contrast,in carbonation,the CO_(2) reacts with the Ca(OH)_(2) on the cement mortar to form CaCO_(3),filling the micro-cracks in the cement mortar on the RCA.

The present work investigates copper slag as a substitute for river sand in high-strength *** concrete mixtures were manufactured with 10%,30%,50%,70%,and 100%of copper slag to evaluate the mechanical and durability *** experimental results indicate that replacing copper slag above 50%affects the performance characteristics of the concrete due to its high angularity and lower water absorption *** strength of concrete with 50%copper slag is improved by 5.6%,whereas the strength of concrete with 100%copper slag is reduced by 2.75%at 28 ***,increased curing to 90days improves the strength of the former by 7.16%and reduces the latter by only 0.23%.The water absorption,porosity,and rapid chloride penetration of the concrete mixtures with 100%copper slag are increased by 10.44%,13.20%,and 19.56%compared to control ***-structural investigations through SEM infer higher replacement of copper results in higher void formation due to its reduced water absorption.

Purpose-Doppler-Bearing Tracking(DBT)is commonly used in target tracking applications for the underwater environment using the Hull-Mounted Sensor(HMS).It is an important and challenging problem in an underwater ***/methodology/approach-The system nonlinearity in an underwater environment increases due to several reasons such as the type of measurements taken,the speeds of target and observer,environmental conditions,number of sensors considered for measurements and so *** of nonlinearity(DoNL)for these problems are analyzed using a proposed measure of nonlinearity(MoNL)for state ***-In this research,the authors analyzed MoNL for state estimation and computed the conditional MoNL(normalized)using different filtering algorithms where measurements are obtained from a single sensor array(***).MoNL is implemented to find out the system nonlinearity for different filtering algorithms and identified how much nonlinear the system is,that is,to measure nonlinearity of a ***/value-Algorithms are evaluated for various scenarios with different angles on the target bow(ATB)in Monte-Carlo *** of root mean squared(RMS)errors in position and velocity is carried out to assess the state estimation accuracy using MATLAB.

There has been an immense endeavor to mitigate global warming in spite of which it has only been worse. This paper presents the design and imple- mentation of a low power and eco-friendly refrigeration system using the thermoelectric effect. The conventional refrigerators make use of complex mechanisms which involves synchronous operation of various units, namely the compressor, condensers, expansion valves, evaporator, refi＇igerant and so on. But a thermoelectric refrigerator exploits the principle of the Peltier effect, thus avoiding the utilization of these complex components. This even helps curb the release of harmful chlorofluorocarbons （CFCs） into the atmosphere which contributes to the increase in global temperature. Moreover, the temperature can be controlled and set to required values with the help of a microcontroller. Hence, this can be used both for domestic and commercial purposes. The unit does not eject any harmful gases. Therefore, the heat expelled from the unit can be tapped for heating utilities, making the use of this device versatile in its application. Thus this proposal aims not only at reducing the air pollutants by not contributing to it but also at reducing the power consumption.

In this paper, a multi-view gait based human recognition system using the fusion of two kinds of features is *** use cross wavelet transform to extract dynamic feature and bipartite graph model to extract static feature which are coefficients of quadrature mirror filter(QMF)-graph wavelet filter bank. Feature fusion is done after normalization. For normalization of features, min-max rule is used and mean-variance method is used to find weights for normalized features. Euclidean distance between each feature vector and center of the cluster which is obtained by k-means clustering is used as similarity measure in Bayesian framework. Experiments performed on widely used CASIA B gait database show that, the fusion of these two feature sets preserve discriminant information. We report 99.90 % average recognition rate.

This paper presents exact free vibration analysis of stress free (or rigidly fixed), thermally insulated (or isothermal), transradially isotropic thermoelastic hollow sphere in context of generalized (non-classical) theory of thermoelasticity. The basic governing equations of linear generalized thermoelastic transradially isotropic hollow sphere have been uncoupled and simplified with the help of potential functions by using the Helmholtz decomposition theorem. Upon using it the coupled system of equations reduced to ordinary differential equations in radial coordinate. Matrix Frobenius method of extended series has been used to investigate the motion along the radial coordinate. The secular equations for the existence of possible modes of vibrations in the considered sphere are derived. The special cases of spheroidal (S-mode) and toroidal (T-mode) vibrations of a hollow sphere have also been deduced and discussed. The toroidal motion gets decoupled from the spheroidal one and remains independent of the both, thermal variations and thermal relaxation time. In order to illustrate the analytic results, the numerical solution of the secular equation which governs spheroidal motion (S-modes) is carried out to compute lowest frequencies of vibrational modes in case of classical (CT) and non-classical (LS, GL) theories of thermoelasticity with the help of MATLAB programming for the generalized hollow sphere of helium and magnesium materials. The computer simulated results have been presented graphically showing lowest frequency and dissipation factor. The analysis may find applications in engineering industries where spherical structures are in frequent use.

This article examines the capability of Gaussian process regression(GPR)for prediction of effective stress parameter(χ)of unsaturated *** method proceeds by parameterising a covariance function,and then infers the parameters given the data *** variables of GPR are net confining pressure(σ_(3)),saturated volumetric water content(θ_(s)),residual water content(θ_(r)),bubbling pressure(h_(b)),suction(s)and fitting parameter(l).A comparative study has been carried out between the developed GPR and Artificial Neural Network(ANN)models.A sensitivity analysis has been done to determine the effect of each input parameter onχ.The developed GPR gives the variance of predictedχ.The results show that the developed GPR is reliable model for prediction ofχof unsaturated soil.

The propagation of acoustic waves in a homogeneous isotropic semiconducting layer sandwiched between two homogeneous transversely isotropic piezoelectric halfspaces has been investigated. The mathematical model of the problem is depicted by a set of partial differential equations of motion, Gauss equation in piezoelectric material and electron diffusion equation in semiconductor along with the boundary conditions to be satisfied at the piezoelectric-semiconductor interfaces. The secular equations describing the symmetric and asymmetric modes of wave propagation have been derived in compact form after obtaining the analytical expressions for various field quantities that govern the wave motion. The complex secular equation has been solved numerically using functional interaction method along with irreducible cardano method. The computer simulated results are obtained with the help of MATLAB software for 6 mm cadmium selenide (CdSe) piezoelectric material and n-type silicon (Si) semiconductor in respect of dispersion curve, attenuation and specific loss factor of energy dissipation for symmetric (sym) and asymmetric (asym) modes of wave propagation. The study may find applications in non-destructive testing, resonators, waveguides etc.

This paper concentrates on the study of the three-dimensional free vibrations in a homogenous isotropic, viscothermoelastic hollow sphere whose surfaces are subjected to stress free, thermally insulated or isothermal boundary conditions. The use of governing partial differential equations is solved into a coupled system of ordinary differential equations. The equation for toroidal motion gets decoupled from rest of the motion and remains unaffected due to thermal variations. Matrix Fr?benious method of extended power series is employed to obtain the solution. The secular equations for the existence of various types of possible modes of vibrations in the considered hollow sphere are derived in the com- pact form. The special cases of spheroidal and toroidal modes of vibrations of a hollow sphere have also been deduced and discussed. In order to explore the characteristics of vibrations the secular equations are further solved by using fixed point iteration numerical technique with the help of MATLAB software tools. The computer simulated results have been presented graphically for copper material.
