Multifunctional,flexible,and robust thin films capable of operating in demanding harsh temperature environments are crucial for various cutting-edge *** study presents a multifunctional Janus film integrating highly-crystalline Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x) MXene and mechanically-robust carbon nanotube(CNT)film through strong hydrogen *** hybrid film not only exhibits high electrical conductivity(4250 S cm^(-1)),but also demonstrates robust mechanical strength and durability in both extremely low and high temperature environments,showing exceptional resistance to thermal *** hybrid Janus film of 15μm thickness reveals remarkable multifunctionality,including efficient electromagnetic shielding effectiveness of 72 dB in X band frequency range,excellent infrared(IR)shielding capability with an average emissivity of 0.09(a minimal value of 0.02),superior thermal camouflage performance over a wide temperature range(−1 to 300℃)achieving a notable reduction in the radiated temperature by 243℃ against a background temperature of 300℃,and outstanding IR detection capability characterized by a 44%increase in resistance when exposed to 250 W IR *** multifunctional MXene/CNT Janus film offers a feasible solution for electromagnetic shielding and IR shielding/detection under challenging conditions.

Improvement of Renewable Bioenergy Production in Microbial Fuel Cells with Saponin Supplementation

Microbial fuel cell (MFC) is one of renewable biofuel production technology that directly converts biomass to electricity. Cellulosic biomass is particularly attractive renewable resources for its low cost and abundance and neutral carbon balance. However, methanogenesis remains as a major factor limiting MFC performance. The current study reports that saponin addition at 0.05% w/v dose to anolyte in MFCs inhibited methanogenesis and improves power generation and cellulose fermentation. Mediator-less two chamber H-type MFCs were prepared using rumen fluid as anode inocula at 20% v/v of anolyte to convert finely ground pine tree (Avicel) at 2%, w/v to electricity. Saponin was added to the anode of MFC at 0.005% or 0.05% v/v dosage for treatment. MFC power and current across an external resistor were measured daily for 10d. On d10, collected gases from anode compartment were measured for total gas volume and analyzed for gas composition on gas chromatography. Global Genomic Variations of Pathogenic Bacteria <i>Salmonella</i>Reading

US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) estimates food-borne pathogenic Salmonella bacteria cause about 1.35 million infections, 26,500 hospitalizations, and 420 deaths in the U.S. every year. Outbreaks of multidrug-resistant Salmonella Reading linked mainly to raw turkey products and alfalfa sprouts have accounted for human illness including mortality. Therefore, we downloaded and compared genome sequences of 897 Salmonella Reading isolated from 27 resources in 11 countries at 21 year-points from the National Center for Biotechnology Information database. Isolates were clustered into 10 clades which consisted of 3 major and 7 minor or single node clades. Although 3 major clades included both Europe and American isolates, one clade consisted of 605 North American isolates out of 614 isolates. Evolutionary distance is more related to the continent than the source of isolation. The host source, continent (North America and Europe) and phylogenetic clade were related to the prevalence of isolates encoding Antimicrobial Resistance Genes (ARGs). Prevalence of prophages was greater in bovine and swine isolates than poultry and human isolates and the least prevalence was found in human isolates. Between continents, the prevalence of phage was greater in North Ame- rican isolates than European. The diversity of virulence factors in swine isolates differed from poultry isolate while no difference was found among continents. In conclusion, evolutionary distance is related to isolation host source rather than the continent, and genome features were distinguished by host and cluster. Our genomic analysis implies that Salmonella Reading evolved independently to environments within its lineages.

＜正＞ BACKGROUND Voglibose is an alpha- glucosidase inhibitor. Due to negligible oral absorption, measuring drug concentration in the blood is impractical. So we proposed a pharmacodynamic assessment method to reflect drug effect, and this study aimed to validate this *** A placebo - controlled, selective two - period clinical study was conducted in 20 healthy male subjects. Period Ⅰ: On day 1. subjects received a placebo and a sucrose - rich fluid meal 20 min after dosing. Blood samples were taken during 3 hours. On day 2. subjects received 0.3 mg voglibose instead of *** Ⅱ: 9 subjects in whom effects of drug were observed in Period Ⅰ participated in a multiple dose study （placebo: 8. 11 pm on day - 1. and 9 am on day 1 / voglibose: 2. 8. 11 pm on day 1. and 9 am on day 2）. RESULTS The average percent decreases of AUEClh （area under the serum glucose level- time curve to 1h） and Gmax （maximum serum glucose level） were 19.6% （P＜0.001） and 22.2% （P＜0.001）. respectively. CONCLUSIONS Significant drug effects of voglibose were revealed after multiple doses. Changes of AUEClh and Gmax compared to placebo may be alternative parameters to AUC and Cmax for an equivalence study.

＜正＞ CKD-501 is a novel peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor α/γ dual agonist for the treatment of diabetes mellitus. This study aimed to investigate safety, tolerability, and pharmacokinetics of CKD-501 in healthy volunteers. A randomized, placebo-controlled, double-blind, parallel-group, dose-rising study was performed. Thirty-six healthy male subjects received single oral doses ranging from 0.5-8 mg CKD- 501 or placebo. In the multipledose study, 24 subjects received 1-4 mg once daily for 7 days. Serial blood and urine samples were collected. No serious adverse events （AEs） were observed and AEs reported were all of mild severity. In the single-dose study, mean Cmax and AUCinf increased linearly up to the 8 mg dose *** and t1/2 ranged from 0.5-4 h and 7.8-9.8 h. respectively. Less than 1 % CKD-501 was excreted in urine. After multiple dosing, accumulation index was around 1.2. Mean apparent clearance, Tmax and t1/2 in steady state were independent of dose and time. Single oral doses up to 8 mg CKD- 501 and multiple doses up to 4 mg were safe and well tolerated. Mean Cmax and AUCinf were dose proportional and there was no remarkable accumulation after multiple dosing.

Increased incidence of indeterminate pancreatic cysts and changes of management pattern: Evidence from nationwide data

Background:Pancreatic cysts are ***,most studies are based on data collected from individual *** present study aimed to evaluate the changes of management patterns for pancreatic cystic lesions(PCLs)by analyzing large epidemiologic ***:Between January 2007 and December 2018,information regarding pancreatic cystic lesions was acquired from the nationwide Health Insurance Review and Assessment Service database in ***:The final number of patients with pancreatic cysts was 165277 among the total claims for reimbursement of 855983 associated with PCLs over 12 *** total number of claims were increased from 19453 in 2007 to 155842 in 2018 and the prevalence increased from 0.04%to 0.23%.For 12 years,2874(1.7%)had pancreatic cancer and 8212(5.0%)underwent surgery,and 36 had surgery for twice(total 8248 pancreatectomy).After ruling out claims from the first 3 years of washout period,the incidence increased from 9891 to 24651 and the crude incidence rate of PCLs expanded from 19.96 per 100000 to 47.77 per *** to specific neoplasm codes(D136 or D377),the use of pancreatic cyst code(K862)has been remarkably increased and the most common since *** annual number of pancreatectomies increased from 518 to 861 between 2007 and 2012,and decreased to 596 until *** percentage of pancreatic cancer in patients who received pancreatectomy increased from 5.6%in 2007 to 11.7%in ***:The incidence of PCLs is rapidly *** PCLs,indeterminate cyst is increasing outstandingly.A trend of decreasing in the number of resections and increasing cancer rates among resected cysts may be attributed to the updated international guidelines.

Robotic versus laparoscopic distal pancreatectomy for pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma: A propensity score-matched analysis

Background: Minimally invasive surgery is becoming increasingly popular in the field of pancreatic surgery. However, there are few studies of robotic distal pancreatectomy(RDP) for pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma(PDAC). This study aimed to investigate the efficacy and feasibility of RDP for PDAC. Methods: Patients who underwent RDP or laparoscopic distal pancreatectomy(LDP) for PDAC between January 2015 and September 2020 were reviewed. Propensity score matching analyses were performed. Results: Of the 335 patients included in the study, 24 underwent RDP and 311 underwent LDP. A total of 21 RDP patients were matched 1:1 with LDP patients. RDP was associated with longer operative time(209.7 vs. 163.2 min;P = 0.003), lower open conversion rate(0% vs. 4.8%;P < 0.001), higher cost(15 722 vs. 12 699 dollars;P = 0.003), and a higher rate of achievement of an R0 resection margin(90.5% vs. 61.9%;P = 0.042). However, postoperative pancreatic fistula grade B or C showed no significant intergroup difference(9.5% vs. 9.5%). The median disease-free survival(34.5 vs. 17.3 months;P = 0.588) and overall survival(37.7 vs. 21.9 months;P = 0.171) were comparable between the groups. Conclusions: RDP is associated with longer operative time, a higher cost of surgery, and a higher likelihood of achieving R0 margins than LDP.

BACKGROUND Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma(PDAC)is a serious disease with a poor *** a minority of patients undergo surgery due to the advanced stage of the disease,and patients with early-stage disease,who are expected to have a better prognosis,often experience ***,it is important to identify the risk factors for early recurrence and to develop an adequate treatment *** To evaluate the predictive factors associated with the early recurrence of earlystage *** This study enrolled 407 patients with stage I PDAC undergoing upfront surgical resection between January 2000 and April *** recurrence was defined as a diagnosis of recurrence within 6 mo of *** optimal cutoff values were determined by receiver operating characteristic(ROC)*** and multivariate analyses were performed to identify the risk factors for early *** Of the 407 patients,98 patients(24.1%)experienced early disease recurrence:26(26.5%)local and 72(73.5%)distant *** total,253(62.2%)patients received adjuvant *** ROC curve analysis,the optimal cutoff values for early recurrence were 70 U/mL and 2.85 cm for carbohydrate antigen 19-9(CA 19-9)levels and tumor size,*** the 181 patients with CA 19-9 level>70 U/mL,59(32.6%)had early recurrence,compared to 39(17.4%)of 226 patients with CA 19-9 level≤70 U/mL(P70 U/mL(P=0.006),tumor size>2.85 cm(P=0.004),poor differentiation(P=0.008),and non-adjuvant chemotherapy(P=0.025)were significant risk factors for early recurrence in early-stage *** Elevated CA 19-9 level(cutoff value>70 U/mL)can be a reliable predictive factor for early recurrence in early-stage *** adjuvant chemotherapy can prevent early recurrence,it should be recommended for patients susceptible to early recurrence.
