Recently,flexible pressure sensors have gained substantial research interest in bioelectronics because they can monitor the conditions of various organs,enable early diagnosis of diseases,and provide precise medical treatment by applying them to various parts of the *** particular,inorganic materials,metal and carbon-based materials are broadly used in novel structured pressure sensors from wearable devices to implantable *** the excellent electronic properties,distinctive morphologies,and remarkable mechanical and chemical stability of these materials,it is expected that these flexible pressure sensors can be the basis for new methods for human *** article covers an extensive review of the inorganic,metal and carbon-based flexible pressure sensor design strategies and sensing mechanisms studied in recent years for diverse applications such as tactile sensors,arterial pulse sensors,intracranial pressure sensors,intraocular pressure sensors,and bladder pressure *** section provides an overview by introducing the recent progress in flexible pressure sensors.

First Record of the Blue-banded Sea Krait(Laticauda laticaudata,Reptilia:Squamata:Elapidae:Laticaudinae)on Jeju Island,South Korea

We report the first recorded capture of a blue-banded sea snake（Laticauda laticaudata Linnaeus, 1758, Jobeuntti Kun Badabam in Korean） in South Korea based on one male specimen collected from Marado-ri, Seogwiposi, Jeju-do on 20 October 2016. The morphological features of the lateral nostrils, the much wider ventrals than adjacent dorsals, the horizontally undivided rostral, the two prefrontals, and the uniform black bands on the body indicate that the specimen is L. laticaudata. An analysis of the partial mitochondrial cytochrome b gene sequence indicated that the specimen fits well into the known L. laticaudata phylogenetic group, which confirms that the sea krait is L. laticaudata. Including this report, five species of sea snakes（L. laticaudata, L. semifasciata, Hydrophis platurus, H. cyanocinctus, and H. melanocephalus） have now been reported in Korean waters.

Challenges in the understanding of three-dimensional(3D)brain networks by simultaneously recording both surface and intracortical areas of brain signals remain due to the difficulties of constructing mechanical design and spatial limitations of the implanted ***,we present a foldable and flexible 3D neural prosthetic that facilitates the 3D mapping of complex neural circuits with high spatiotemporal dynamics from the intracortical to cortical *** device is the tool to map the 3D neural transmission through sophisticatedly designed four flexible penetrating shanks and surface electrode arrays in one integrated *** demonstrate the potential possibilities of identifying correlations of neural activities from the intracortical area to cortical regions through continuous monitoring of electrophysiological *** also exploited the structural properties of the device to record synchronized signals of single spikes evoked by unidirectional total whisker *** platform offers opportunities to clarify unpredictable 3D neural pathways and provides a next-generation neural interface.

The functionalities and diverse metastable phases of multiferroic BiFeO_(3)(BFO)thin films depend on the misfit *** mixed phase-induced strain relaxation in multiphase BFO thin films is well known,it is unclear whether a singlecrystalline BFO thin film can accommodate misfit strain without the involvement of its ***,understanding the strain relaxation behavior is key to elucidating the lattice strain–property *** this study,a correlative strain analysis based on dark-field inline electron holography(DIH)and quantitative scanning transmission electron microscopy(STEM)was performed to reveal the structural mechanism for strain accommodation of a single-crystalline BFO thin *** nanoscale DIH strain analysis results indicated a random combination of multiple strain states that acted as a primary strain relief,forming irregularly strained *** STEM-based bond length measurement of the corresponding strained nanodomains revealed a unique strain accommodation behavior achieved by a statistical combination of multiple modes of distorted structures on the unit-cell *** globally integrated strain for each nanodomain was estimated to be close to􀀀1.5%,irrespective of the nanoscale strain states,which was consistent with the fully strained BFO film on the SrTiO_(3) *** functional theory calculations suggested that strain accommodation by the combination of metastable phases was energetically favored compared to single-phase-mediated *** discovery allows a comprehensive understanding of strain accommodation behavior in ferroelectric oxide films,such as BFO,with various low-symmetry polymorphs.
