Gastric cancer(GC)is a pervasive global malignancy with high mortality rates due to distant metastasis[1].GC metastasis can occur via hematogenous route,peri-toneal route,and specifically through ovarian spread in females[2].Among these,peritoneal metastasis is the most prevalent and challenging condition to treat[3].The Cancer Genome Atlas(TCGA)has uncovered four molec-ular subtypes of GC:microsatellite instability,Epstein-Barr virus-related,chromosomal instability,and genomically stable[4].

Rechargeable lithium batteries are attractive power sources for electronic devices and are being aggressively developed for vehicular use. Nevertheless, problems with their safety and reliability must be solved for the large-scale use of lithium batteries in transportation and grid-storage applications. In this study, a unique hybrid solid-state electrolyte composed of an ionic liquid electrolyte (LiTFSI/Pyr14TFSI) and BaTiO3 nanosize ceramic particles was prepared without a polymer. The electrolyte exhibited high thermal stability, a wide electrochemical window, good ionic conductivity of 1.3 × 10−3 S·cm−1 at 30 °C, and a remarkably high lithium-ion transference number of 0.35. The solid-state LiFePO4 cell exhibited the best electrochemical properties among the reported solid-state batteries, along with a reasonable rate capability. Li/LiCoO2 cells prepared using this nanocomposite solid electrolyte exhibited high performance at both room temperature and a high temperature, confirming their potential as lithium batteries with enhanced safety and a wide range of operating temperatures.

Developing efficient separation materials for recovering metal resources from aqueous environments is crucial for the sustainable water–food–energy nexus,which addresses the interdependence between energy production,water production,and energy *** material-based separation processes have demonstrated outstanding ***,electric energy and chemicals are used to frequently replace the separation materials used in such processes owing to their short life *** study presents a methodology for designing the self-regenerable fiber(SRF)according to the types of metals through a self-regeneration *** SRF can semi-permanently recover the metal resources from water through a repetitive adsorption–crystallization–detachment process of metal ions on its *** ionic metal resources are adsorbed and crystallized with the counter-anions on the SRF ***,the metal crystals are self-detached from the SRF surface by the collision between the crystals and curvature and non-sticky surface of the ***,a module containing the SRF maintains its metal recovery capability even during continuous injection of the metal solution without its *** findings highlight the significance of interfacial engineering and further guide the rational design of energy/environmentally friendly resource recovery modules.

Preparation of human decellularized peripheral nerve allograft using amphoteric detergent and nuclease

Animal studies have shown that amphoteric detergent and nuclease(DNase I and ribonuclease A) is the most reliable decellularization method of the peripheral nerve. However, the optimal combination of chemical reagents for decellularization of human nerve allograft needs further investigation. To find the optimal protocol to remove the immunogenic cellular components of the nerve tissue and preserve the basal lamina and extracellular matrix and whether the optimal protocol can be applied to larger-diameter human peripheral nerves, in this study, we decellularized the median and sural nerves from the cadavers with two different methods: nonionic and anionic detergents(Triton X-100 and sodium deoxycholate) and amphoteric detergent and nuclease(3-[(3-cholamidopropyl)dimethylammonio]-1-propanesulfonate(CHAPS), deoxyribonuclease I, and ribonuclease A). All cellular components were successfully removed from the median and sural nerves by amphoteric detergent and nuclease. Not all cellular components were removed from the median nerve by nonionic and anionic detergent. Both median and sural nerves treated with amphoteric detergent and nuclease maintained a completely intact extracellular matrix. Treatment with nonionic and anionic detergent decreased collagen content in both median and sural nerves, while the amphoteric detergent and nuclease treatment did not reduce collagen content. In addition, a contact cytotoxicity assay revealed that the nerves decellularized by amphoteric detergent and nuclease was biocompatible. Strength failure testing demonstrated that the biomechanical properties of nerves decellularized with amphoteric detergent and nuclease were comparable to those of fresh controls. Decellularization with amphoteric detergent and nuclease better remove cellular components and better preserve extracellular matrix than decellularization with nonionic and anionic detergents, even in large-diameter human peripheral nerves. A novel fabrication process for micro patterns with curvature was introduced. The curved structures were made by compensating rectangular micro structures with liquid photoresist layer. Because of the surface tension of the liquid in micro scale, various shapes of meniscus can he made on the micro channels. The micro channels were made on the silicon suhstrate in advance, and then the liquid layer was coated on the micro channels. From the nature of liquid behavior, the curved patterns with smooth surface are obtained, which cannot be made easily with the conventional mechanical machining, as well as with the microfabrication processes, such as wet and dry etching. With this principle, it is expected that the smooth and curved surfaces can be made by simple processes and the results can be applied widely, such as optical patterns.

The alpha-case formation reactions between Ti and investment molds （Al-2O-3,ZrSiO-4,ZrO-2,CaO stabilized ZrO-2） were evaluated in a plasma arc melting *** of thermodynamic approaches,there were distinct alpha-case *** reaction products were characterized by electron probe micro-analysis and transmission electron ***α-case generation between Ti and Al-2O-3 mold was not able to be explained by the conventionalα-case formation mechanism,which is known to be formed by the interstitials,especially oxygen dissolved from mold ***,from our experimental results and thermodynamic calculations,it was confirmed that theα-case is formed not only by an interstitial element but also by substitutional metallic elements dissolved from mold *** newly establishedα-case formation mechanism will surely lead to a variety of significant applications of theα-case controlled Ti casting.

AIM:To investigate M2 isoform of pyruvate kinase(PKM2) expression in gastric cancers and evaluate its potential as a prognostic biomarker and an anticancer ***:All tissue samples were derived from gastric cancer patients underwent curative gastrectomy as a primary *** and pathological information were obtained from the medical *** expression microarray data from 60 cancer and 19 noncancer gastric tissues were analyzed to evaluate the expression level of PKM2 *** microarrays were constructed from 368 gastric cancer *** was used to measure PKM2 expression and PKM2 positivity of cancer was determined by proportion of PKM2-positive tumor cells and staining *** between PKM2 expression and the clinicopathological factors was evaluated and the correlation between PKM2 and cancer prognosis was ***:PKM2 mRNA levels were increased more than 2-fold in primary gastric cancers compared to adjacent normal tissues from the same patients(log transformed expression level:7.6 ± 0.65 vs 6.3 ± 0.51,P < 0.001).Moreover,differentiated type cancers had significantly higher PKM2 mRNA compared to undifferentiated type cancers(log transformed expression level:7.8 ± 0.70 vs 6.7 ± 0.71,P < 0.001).PKM2 protein was mainly localized in the cytoplasm of primary cancer cells and detected in 144 of 368(39.1%) human gastric cancer ***2 expression was not related with stage(P = 0.811),but strongly correlated with gastric cancer differentiation(P < 0.001).Differentiated type cancers expressed more PKM2 protein than did the undifferentiated *** differentiated adenocarcinoma showed 63.6% PKM2-positive cells;in contrast,signet-ring cell cancers showed only 17.7% PKM2-positive ***,PKM2 expression was correlated with shorter overall survival(P < 0.05) independent of stage only in signet-ring cell ***:PKM2 expression might be an adverse prognostic factor for signet-rin
