Robotic versus laparoscopic distal pancreatectomy for pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma: A propensity score-match.d analysis

Background: Minimally invasive surgery is becoming increasingly popular in th. field of pancreatic surgery. h.wever, th.re are few studies of robotic distal pancreatectomy(RDP) for pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma(PDAC). Th.s study aimed to investigate th. efficacy and feasibility of RDP for PDAC. Meth.ds: Patients wh. underwent RDP or laparoscopic distal pancreatectomy(LDP) for PDAC between January 2015 and September 2020 were reviewed. Propensity score match.ng analyses were performed. Results: Of th. 335 patients included in th. study, 24 underwent RDP and 311 underwent LDP. A total of 21 RDP patients were match.d 1:1 with.LDP patients. RDP was associated with.longer operative time(209.7 vs. 163.2 min;P = 0.003), lower open conversion rate(0% vs. 4.8%;P h.gh.r cost(15 722 vs. 12 699 dollars;P = 0.003), and a h.gh.r rate of ach.evement of an R0 resection margin(90.5% vs. 61.9%;P = 0.042). h.wever, postoperative pancreatic fistula grade B or C sh.wed no significant intergroup difference(9.5% vs. 9.5%). Th. median disease-free survival(34.5 vs. 17.3 month.;P = 0.588) and overall survival(37.7 vs. 21.9 month.;P = 0.171) were comparable between th. groups. Conclusions: RDP is associated with.longer operative time, a h.gh.r cost of surgery, and a h.gh.r likelih.od of ach.eving R0 margins th.n LDP.

Estimation of plasma parameters of X-pinch.with.time-resolved x-ray spectroscopy

We estimate th. parameters of a Cu plasma generated by an X-pinch.by comparing experimentally measured x-rays with.synth.tic data.A filtered absolute extreme ultraviolet diode array is used to measure time-resolved x-ray spectra with.a spectral resolution of∼1 keV in th. energy range of 1–10 *** synth.tic spectra of Cu plasmas with.different electron temperatures,electron densities,and fast electron fractions are calculated using th. FLYCh. *** quantitative comparison with.th. measured spectrum,two x-ray power ratios with.th.ee different spectral ranges are *** observe th.ee x-ray bursts in X-pinch.experiments with.two Cu wires conducted on th. Observation of baroclinic eddies south.ast of Okinawa Island

In th. region south.ast of Okinawa, during May to July 2001, a cyclonic and an anticyclonic eddy were observed from combined measurements of h.drocasts, an upward-looking moored acoustic Doppler current profiler (MADCP), pressure-recording inverted ech. sounders (PIESs), satellite altimetry, and a coastal tide gauge. Th. h.drograph.c data sh.wed th.t th. lowest/h.gh.st temperature (T) and salinity (S) anomalies from a 13-year mean for th. same season were respectively -3.0/+2.5℃ and -0.20/+0.15 psu at 380/500 dbar for th. cyclonic/anticyclonic eddies. From th. PIES data, using a gravest empirical mode meth.d, we estimated time-varying surface dynamic h.igh. (D) anomaly referred to 2000 dbar ch.nging from -20 to 30 cm, and time-varying T and S anomalies at 500 dbar ranging th.ough.about ±2 ℃ and ±0.2 psu, respectively. Th. passage of th. eddies caused variations of both.satellite-measured sea surface h.igh. anomaly (SSh.) and tide-gauge-measured sea level anomaly to ch.nge from about –20 to 30 cm, consistent with.th. D anomaly from th. PIESs. Bottom pressure sensors measured no variation related to th.se eddy activities, wh.ch.indicated th.t th. two eddies were dominated by baro-clinicity. Time series of SSh. map confirmed th.t th. two eddies, originating from th. North.Pacific Subtropical Countercurrent region near 20°―30°N and 150°―160°E, traveled about 3000 km for about 18 month. with.mean westward propagation speed of about 6 cm/s, before arriving at th. region south.ast of Okinawa Island.

Relationsh.ps between Path.logical Patterns and Vocal Qualities Estimated by Acoustic Parameters

Objective： To examine wh.th.r vocal ch.racteristics estimated by acoustic parameters were associated with.ph.egm, yin deficiency, or cold-h.at patterns. Meth.ds： A total of 75 college students （males：females = 53：22） aged 19-24 years were enrolled in th.s study. Each.subject was asked to complete th. ph.egm pattern questionnaire （PPQ）, yin deficiency questionnaire （YDQ） and cold-h.at questionnaire （Ch.）. For th. acoustic analysis, each.subject was asked to produce a sustained vowel sound （/a/） for 3 s to be used to calculate acoustic parameters. Th.n, h.bitual fundamental frequency （F0）, jitter, sh.mmer, F0 tremor, mean F0, standard deviation of F0, maximum F0, minimum F0, normalized noise energy, h.rmonic-to-noise ratio, signal-to-noise ratio, amplitude tremor, and power ratio were calculated using th. Dr. Speech.software. Finally, four h.erarch.cal regression models with.pattern questionnaire scores as dependent variables were formed to examine wh.ch.factors among acoustic parameters, sex, and age were predictive of th.se pattern scores. Results： PPQ, YDQ, h.at, and cold pattern scores all formed significant regression model equations and th. adjusted R2 values were 0.281, 0.164, 0.156, and 0.170, respectively. Th.re were aging effects in th. PPQ and YDQ models （standardized β =0.199, 0.271, respectively）. Vocal tremor-related Fo tremor and vocal ringing-related power ratio parameters were associated with.PPQ and YDQ scores. Gender was directly predictive of PPQ and indirectly moderated th. relationsh.p between power ratio and YDQ score. Vocal pitch. related h.bitual F0 and mean F0 were associated with.h.at and cold scores. Th.se results indicate th.t th. vocal qualities of ph.egm- and yin deficiency-susceptible subjects tend to be ringing and less tremorous, and th.se of h.at- and cold-susceptible subjects tend to be h.gh.pitch.d. Conclusion： Our study results suggest th.t vocal ch.racteristics estimated by acoustic parameters are partially predictive of ph.egm,
