Microsphere-assisted hyperspectral imaging:super-resolution,non-destructive metrology for semiconductor devices

As semiconductor devices shrink and their manufacturing processes advance,accurately measuring in-cell critical dimensions(CD)becomes increasingly *** test element group(TEG)measurements are becoming inadequate for representing the fine,repetitive patterns in cell *** non-destructive metrology technologies like optical critical dimension(OCD)are limited due to their large spot diameter of approximately 25μm,which impedes their efficacy for detailed in-cell structural ***,there is a pressing need for small-spot and non-destructive metrology *** address this limitation,we demonstrate a microsphere-assisted hyperspectral imaging(MAHSI)system,specifically designed for small spot optical metrology with *** microsphere-assisted super-resolution imaging,this system achieves an optical resolution of 66 nm within a field of view of 5.6μm×5.6μ*** approach effectively breaks the diffraction limit,significantly enhancing the magnification of the *** MAHSI system incorporating hyperspectral imaging with a wavelength range of 400–790 nm,enables the capture of the reflection spectrum at each camera *** achieved pixel resolution,which is equivalent to the measuring spot size,is 14.4 nm/pixel and the magnification is *** MAHSI system enables measurement of local uniformity in critical areas like corners and edges of DRAM cell blocks,areas previously challenging to inspect with conventional OCD *** our knowledge,this approach represents the first global implementation of microsphere-assisted hyperspectral imaging to address the metrology challenges in complex 3D structures of semiconductor devices.

Dear Editor,Angiosarcoma is a rare malignancy,which accounts for approximately 1%-2%of soft-tissue sarcomas[1].It can occur at any site within the human *** research-ers suggested that site distribution may be different between Eastern Asian and Western countries[1].Sev-eral factors,such as age,stage at diagnosis,performance status,site of the disease,histological grade,tumor size,and visceral involvement,were suggested as prognos-tic factors in angiosarcoma[2-5].However,there is still controversy regarding to which prognostic factors are significantly *** there are no randomized clinical trials for angiosarcoma,its treatments are guided based on guidelines of soft-tissue sarcoma or the results of several retrospective *** surgery is the preferred treatment for angiosarcoma[2-4].Some stud-ies suggested that receiving adjuvant chemotherapy(CT)is associated with better outcome[5],while other studies have shown that adjuvant CT has no significant effect[6,7].Chemoradiotherapy has been reported to be effective in angiosarcoma especially for cutaneous angiosarcoma[8].However,evidence for the efficacy and safety of pal-liative cytotoxic CT is still ***,here,we present our analysis based on the clinical features,tumor characteristics,treatment and outcomes of angiosarcoma patients in an attempt to investigate the significant prog-nostic factors and efficient therapeutics in real clinical practice.

A case of intussuscepted Meckel’s diverticulum

We report colonoscopic features of an intussuscepted Meckel's diverticulum, presenting with hematochezia. A 35-year-old woman presented to the emergency room with acute onset, transient, sharp, severe epi-gastric pain that began 6 h earlier. Colonoscopy re-vealed a reddish, soft, fi st-sized polypoid lesion in the terminal ileum. The lesion was misinterpreted as a hematoma by an inexperienced endoscopist. The pa-tient began to complain of intermittent, severe peri-umbilical pain following the colonoscopic examination. Subsequent computed tomography showed an enteric intussusception. An exploratory laparotomy revealed an intussuscepted Meckel's diverticulum, with trans-mural infarction. Colonoscopy was of little use in as-sessing the intussusception. However, colonoscopic examination may be performed initially, especially in an intussuscepted Meckel's diverticulum present-ing with hematochezia. Endoscopists should note the endoscopic features of an intussuscepted Meckel's diverticulum.

RGB Color-Discriminable Photonic Synapse for Neuromorphic Vision System

To emulate the functionality of the human retina and achieve a neuromorphic visual system,the development of a photonic synapse capable of multispectral color discrimination is of paramount ***,attaining robust color discrimination across a wide intensity range,even irrespective of medium limitations in the channel layer,poses a significant ***,we propose an approach that can bestow the color-discriminating synaptic functionality upon a three-terminal transistor flash memory even with enhanced discriminating *** incorporating the strong induced dipole moment effect at the excitation,modulated by the wavelength of the incident light,into the floating gate,we achieve outstanding RGB color-discriminating synaptic functionality within a remarkable intensity range spanning from 0.05 to 40 mW cm^(-2).This approach is not restricted to a specific medium in the channel layer,thereby enhancing its *** effectiveness of this color-discriminating synaptic functionality is demonstrated through visual pre-processing of a photonic synapse array,involving the differentiation of RGB channels and the enhancement of image contrast with noise ***,a convolutional neural network can achieve an impressive inference accuracy of over 94%for Canadian-Institute-For-Advanced-Research-10 colorful image recognition task after the *** proposed approach offers a promising solution for achieving robust and versatile RGB color discrimination in photonic synapses,enabling significant advancements in artificial visual systems.

AIM:To verify that CD markers are available for detecting cancer stem cell populations and to evaluate their clinical significance in colon ***:Immunohistochemistry for CD133,CD24 and CD44 was performed on the tissue microarray of 523 colorectal *** records were reviewed and clinicopathological analysis was ***:In colorectal adenocarcinoma,128 of 523 cases(24.5%) were positive and 395 cases(75.5%) were negative for CD133 *** hundred and sixty-four of 523 cases(50.5%) were positive and 259 cases(49.5%) were negative for CD24 *** hundred and two of 523 cases(96%) were negative and 21 cases(4%) were positive for CD44 *** clinicopathological analysis,CD133 expression was present more in male patients(P = 0.002) and in advanced T stage cancer(P = 0.024).Correlation between CD24 expression and clinicopathological factors was seen in the degree of differentiation(P = 0.006).Correlation between CD44 expression and clinicopathological factors was seen in the tumor size(P = 0.001).Survival was not significantly related to CD133,CD24 and CD44 ***:CD markers were related to invasiveness and differentiation of colorectal ***,CD expression was not closely related to survival.

Comprehensive molecular characterization to predict immunotherapy response in advanced biliary tract cancer:a phase II trial of pembrolizumab

Background:Immune checkpoint inhibitors(ICIs)are effective in a subset of patients with metastatic solid ***,the patients who would benefit most from ICIs in biliary tract cancer(BTC)are still *** and methods:We molecularly characterized tissues and blood from 32 patients with metastatic BTC treated with the ICI pembrolizumab as second-line ***:All patients had microsatellite stable(MSS)type *** of the 32 patients achieved partial response(PR),with an objective response rate(ORR)of 9.4%(95%confidence interval[CI],2.0–25.2)and nine showed stable disease(SD),exhibiting a disease control rate(DCR)of 37.5%(95%CI,21.1–56.3).For the 31 patients who had access to PD-1 ligand 1(PD-L1)combined positive score(CPS)testing(cut-off value≥1%),the ORR was not different between those who had PD-L1-positive(PD-L1+;1/11,9.1%)and PDL1-(2/20,10.0%)tumors(p=1.000).The tumor mutational burden(TMB)of PD-L1+BTC was comparable to that of PD-L1-BTC(p=0.630).TMB and any exonic somatic mutations were also not predictive of pembrolizumab *** analysis of blood and tumor samples demonstrated a relatively high natural killer(NK)cell proportion in the peripheral blood before pembrolizumab treatment in patients who achieved tumor ***,the tumors of these patients presented high enrichment scores for NK cells,antitumor cytokines,and Th1 signatures,and a low enrichment score for cancer-associated ***:This study shows the molecular characteristics associated with the efficacy of pembrolizumab in BTC of the MSS type.

High-entropy ceramics exhibit novel intrinsic properties. Hence, they have been explored for a wide range of applications ranging from thermal insulation and energy storage to advanced optical components. Recently, the semiconductor industry has faced a demand for higher-performance chips, necessitating higher aspect ratios in wafer fabrication and further miniaturization of linewidths. Therefore, novel materials with high plasma etching resistance and minimal contaminant generation are needed. The plasma-etching resistance displayed by high-entropy ceramics can be an innovative solution to this emerging challenge. In this study, we successfully fabricated single-phase high-entropy sesquioxide ceramics with high optical transparency, dense microstructure, and minimal residual pores. A structural analysis of the fabricated samples revealed a single-phase structure with excellent phase homogeneity. An evaluation of the plasma-etching resistance of high-entropy ceramics revealed for the first time a low etching rate of 8 nm/h compared with that of conventional plasma-resistant materials. These comprehensive characterizations of high-entropy ceramics indicate that they are promising candidates for significantly improving the production yield of semiconductors and for a wide range of potential applications, such as next-generation active optical ceramics.

Neonatal erythema multiforme associated with a rotavirus infection:A case report

BACKGROUND Erythema multiforme(EM)is an extremely rare condition in neonates,and studies suggest its association with certain infections and neonatal vaccinations;however,few specific etiological agents have been ***,a common pathogenic gastrointestinal virus in the neonatal period that is preventable via vaccination,has not been identified as a possible *** report the case of a neonate who was referred for skin lesions presenting as EM,where a meticulous workup identified rotavirus as the sole causative *** SUMMARY A 14-day-old male infant was admitted to our hospital with a 1-day history of skin *** medical history or medication intake was *** for the complaint of skin lesions,the caregivers denied any abnormal *** tests,including routine laboratory evaluations,were performed to identify the cause of skin *** tests for Immunoglobulin M for Toxoplasma,Rubella,Cytomegalovirus,Herpes Simplex Virus,and Epstein-Barr virus viral-capsid antigen were all *** polymerase chain reaction(PCR)tests for respiratory viruses and bacterial pathogens were negative(including the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2).Multiple PCR tests for gastrointestinal viruses and bacterial pathogens demonstrated evidence of rotavirus *** growth was reported in the blood and urine *** patient received intravenous fluids for hydration;meanwhile,no other medications were *** lesions improved rapidly without specific treatment,and full recovery was achieved within a *** The possibility of rotavirus,a major cause of pediatric gastrointestinal infections,being a trigger for neonatal EM should be considered.
