To study the effects of wind generators on distribution system protection,the short-circuit current(SCC) characteristics of wind generators is *** there are many researches on the issue,a clear agreement has not been reached so *** SCC characteristics for different wind generators are *** simulation is performed in the same system integrated with different kinds of wind generators,and their results are compared with those reported in IEEE *** detection possibility by overcurrent relay(OCR)is discussed based on the simulation results.

We demonstrate the subsurface imaging of an articular cartilage using Fourier-domain common-path optical coherence tomography. The bare fiber probe integrated with a hypodermic needle provides the rigidness required to perform lateral scanning with less microscale bending. By submerging both the probe and the specimen into saline solution, we not only reduce the beam divergence, but also increase the signal-to-noise ratio compared with the measurement in free space. Our system can differentiate the characteristic cartilage zones and identity various micro-structured defects in an ex vivo chicken knee cartilage, thus demonstrating that it could be used to conduct early arthritis diagnosis and intraoperative endo-microscopy.

In situ hydrogelation systems, such as transdermal polymerization, allow for external control over the gelation processes in a minimally invasive way. Recently, a novel system consisting of near-infrared (NIR) light and plasmonic nanomaterials was demonstrated to cause in vivo transdermal gelation. However, NIR light is not sufficient for gelation induction in deep tissues owing to its limited penetration into tissues. To overcome this problem, here we developed an alternating magnetic field (AMF)-inducible hydrogelation system with superparamagnetic iron oxide nanoparticles (SPIONs), by which a deep-tissue-penetrating AMF can induce heat generation in the SPIONs and temperature elevation ( 43 degrees C), leading to initiation of thermal polymerization of poly(ethylene glycol) diacrylate. The feasibility of our AMF-inducible hydrogelation was successfully demonstrated using thick porcine muscle tissues (> 2 cm), whereas the NIR light-based hydrogelation system could induce gelation only in tissues thinner than several millimeters. Cell viability assays indicated cytocompatibility of the AMF-inducible hydrogelation for cell encapsulation and delivery. In vivo hydrogelation in rat muscle tissues further validated in situ hydrogelation in deep muscle tissues of a living animal. This AMF-inducible hydrogelation system may overcome the conventional problems of depth limitation and should extend the applicable area of on-demand injectable hydrogel systems for tissue engineering and drug delivery applications.

High-power terahertz radiation was observed to be emitted from a gas jet irradiated by 100-terawatt-class laser pulses in the laser-wakefield acceleration of *** emitted terahertz radiation was characterized in terms of its spectrum,polarization,and energy dependence on the accompanying electron bunch energy and charge under various gas target *** a nitrogen target,more than 4 mJ of energy Was produced at<10 THz with a laser-to-terahertz conversion efficiency of~0.15%.Such strong terahertz radiation is hypothesized to be produced from plasma electrons accelerated by the ponderomotive force of the laser and the plasma wakefelds on the time scale of the laser pulse duration and plasma *** model is examined with analytic calculations and particle-in-cell simulations to better understand the generation mechanism of high-energy terahertz radiation in laser-wakefield acceleration.

Molecular motors are nature＇s nano-devices and the essential agents of movement that are an integral part of many living organisms. The supramolecular motor, called Nuclear Pore Complex （NPC）, controls the transport of all cellular material be- tween the cytoplasm and the nucleus that occurs naturally in biological cells of many organisms. In order to understand the design characteristics of the NPC, we developed a microdevice for drug/fluidic transport mimicking the coarse-grained repre- sentation of the NPC geometry through computational fluid dynamic analysis and optimization. Specifically, the role of the central plug in active fluidic/particle transport and passive transport （without central plug） was investigated. Results of flow rate, pressure and velocity profiles obtained from the models indicate that the central plug plays a major role in transport through this biomolecular machine. The results ofthis investigation show that fluidic transport and flow passages are important factors in designing NPC based nano- and micro-devices for drug delivery.

Metal–organic framework-templated nitrogen-doped graphitic carbon(NGC)and polydopaminederived carbon(PDA-derived C)-double coated one-dimensional CoSe_(2) nanorods supported highly porous threedimensional microspheres are introduced as anodes for excellent Na-ion batteries,particularly with long-lived cycle under carbonate-based electrolyte *** microspheres uniformly composed of ZIF-67 polyhedrons and polystyrene nanobeads(φ=40 nm)are synthesized using the facile spray pyrolysis technique,followed by the selenization process(P-CoSe_(2)@NGC NR).Further,the PDA-derived C-coated microspheres are obtained using a solution-based coating approach and the subsequent carbonization process(P-CoSe_(2)@PDA-C NR).The rational synthesis approach benefited from the synergistic effects of dual carbon coating,resulting in a highly conductive and porous nanostructure that could facilitate rapid diffusion of charge species along with efficient electrolyte infiltration and effectively channelize the volume ***,the prepared nanostructure exhibits extraordinary electrochemical performance,particularly the ultra-long cycle life *** instance,the advanced anode has a discharge capacity of 291(1000th cycle,average capacity decay of 0.017%)and 142 mAh g^(-1)(5000th cycle,average capacity decay of 0.011%)at a current density of 0.5 and 2.0 A g^(-1),respectively.

Patient-reported ejaculatory function and satisfaction in men with lower urinary tract symptoms/benign prostatic hyperplasia

This study aimed to investigate perceived ejaculatory function/satisfaction before treatment for lower urinary tract symptoms （LUTS）/benign prostatic hyperplasia （BPH） and to identify associations between specific categories of ejaculatory dysfunctions （EjDs） and LUTS. A total of 1574 treatment-naive men with LUTS/BPH were included in this study. All patients underwent routine evaluation for LUTS/BPH including the International Index of Erectile Function and a 5-item questionnaire developed to assess ejaculatory volume/force/pain/satisfaction/latency time. Patients who had sexual intercourse over the past 4 weeks were classified as sexually active group. A total of 783 patients were categorized as sexually active group. Decreased ejaculatory volume and force were reported by 53.4% and 55.7% of 783 sexually active men, respectively, There was a strong correlation between ejaculatory volume and force. Ejaculatory pain/discomfort, premature ejaculation （PE）, and delayed ejaculation （DE） were reported in 41,0%, 16.3%, and 41.4% of the patients, respectively. Over 40.0% of men without decreased ejaculation volume/force were satisfied with ejaculatory function, whereas approximately 6.0% of men with decreased volume/force were satisfied with ejaculatory function. About 30.0% of men with decreased volume/force had orgasmic dysfunction, while approximately 10.0% of men without decreased volume/force did. Decreased ejaculatory volume or force was associated with LUTS severity after adjusting for other influential factors including testosterone level, erectile function, and prostate size on ultrasonography, but PE or DE or ejaculatory pain/discomfort was not. In conclusion, a considerable portion of men with LUTS/BPH appear to have a variety of EjDs. Ejaculatory volume/force and satisfaction/orgasm do not always appear to be concordant. Ejaculatory volume or force is independently associated with LUTS severity, whereas PE or DE or ejaculatory pain/discomfort is not.
