Accurate influent flow rate prediction is important for operators and managers at wastewater treatment plants(WWTPs),as it is closely related to wastewater characteristics such as b.ochemical oxygen demand(b.D),total suspend solids(TSS),and *** studies have b.en conducted to predict influent flow rate,and it was proved that data-driven models are effective ***,most of these studies have focused on b.tch learning,which is inadequate for wastewater prediction in the era of COVID-19 as the influent pattern changed *** learning,which has distinct advantages of dealing with stream data,large data set,and changing data pattern,has a potential to address this *** this study,the performance of conventional b.tch learning models Random Forest(RF),K-Nearest Neighb.rs(KNN),and Multi-Layer Perceptron(MLP),and their respective online learning models Adaptive Random Forest(aRF),Adaptive K-Nearest Neighb.rs(aKNN),and Adaptive Multi-Layer Perceptron(aMLP),were compared for predicting influent flow rate at two Canadian *** learning models achieved the highest R2,the lowest MAPE,and the lowest RMSE compared to conventional b.tch learning models in all *** R2 values on testing data set for 24-h ahead prediction of the aRF,aKNN,and aMLP at Plant A were 0.90,0.73,and 0.87,respectively;these values at Plant b.were 0.75,0.78,and 0.56,*** proposed online learning models are effective in making reliab.e predictions under changing data patterns,and they are efficient in dealing with continuous and large influent data *** can b. used to provide rob.st decision support for wastewater treatment and management in the changing era of COVID-19 and also under other unprecedented emergencies that could change influent patterns.

This study presents the first stage of a multi-scale numerical framework designed to predict the non-linear constitutive b.havior of metal-composite interfaces in titanium-graphite fib.r metal laminates. Scanning electron microscopy and x-ray diffraction techniques are used to characterize the b.seline physical and chemical state of the interface. The physics of adhesion b.tween the metal and polymer matrix composite components are then evaluated on the atomistic scale using molecular dynamics simulations. Interfacial mechanical properties are sub.equently derived from these simulations using classical mechanics and thermodynamics. These molecular-level property predictions are used in a companion study to parameterize a continuum-level finite element model of the interface b. means of a traction-separation constitutive law. Extension of the proposed approach to other dissimilar metal- or metal oxide-polymer interfaces is also discussed.

Lanthanum malonate crystals were grown b. single tub. ionic diffusion through silica gel. The crystallinity of the grown crystals was analyzed b. powder X-ray diffraction studies. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy （FTIR） and fourier transform （FT） Raman studies confirmed the presence of functional groups in the title compound. The optical b.nd gap energy of the material was extracted from diffuse reflectance spectrum.

Volatiles from female Asian longhorned b.etle （ ALb.）, Anoplophora glab.ipenhis, were evaluated as candidate sex pheromone components. Previous studies on ALb.have revealed several antennally active compounds from virgin females; however the origins and activity of these compounds were not apparent and require further investigation. We tested the hypothesis that one or more of the ALb.contact sex pheromones is a precursor that undergoes ab.otic oxidation to yield volatile pheromone components, and evaluated the activity of these compounds using lab.ratory and field b.oassays. Gas chromatogra- phy coupled electroantennography detection （GC-EAD） analysis indicated the presence of three antennally active aldehydes （heptanal, nonanal, and hexadecanal） in female cuticular extracts exposed to ozone or UV and visib.e light. In lab.ratory b.oassays using a Y-tub. olfactometer, males were preferentially attracted to ozonized female b.dy washes over crude b.dy washes. Similarly, synthetic formulations of these compounds were preferred over controls in the olfactometer. Field trapping experiments conducted from 2006 to 2008 in Ningxia, China showed that synthetic lures of the three aldehydes formulated in a ratio simulating that of virgin females attracted more b.etles compared to controls, and that comb.nations of these aldehydes, linalool oxide, and host kairomones captured more b.etles than controls, and captured significantly more males.

The prevalence of ob.sity and related conditions like non-alcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD) is increasing worldwide and therapeutic options are *** treatment options are therefore intensively sought *** interesting candidate is the natural polyphenol resveratrol(RSV) that activates adenosinmonophosphate-activated protein kinase(AMPK) and silent information regulation-2 homolog 1(SIRT1).In addition,RSV has known anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory ***,we review the current evidence for RSVmediated effects on NAFLD and address the different aspects of NAFLD and non-alcoholic steatohepatitis(NASH) pathogenesis with respect to free fatty acid(FFA) flux from adipose tissue,hepatic de novo lipogenesis,inadequate FFA β-oxidation and additional intra- and extrahepatic inflammatory and oxidant *** review the in vivo evidence from animal studies and clinical *** ab.ndance of animal studies reports a decrease in hepatic triglyceride accumulation,liver weight and a general improvement in histological fatty liver changes,along with a reduction in circulating insulin,glucose and lipid *** studies document AMPK or SIRT1 activation,and modulation of relevant markers of hepatic lipogenesis,inflammation and oxidation ***,AMPK/SIRT1-independent actions are also *** trials are scarce and have primarily b.en performed with a focus on overweight/ob.se participants without a focus on NAFLD/NASH and histological liver *** clinical studies with appropriate design are needed to clarify the true impact of RSV treatment in NAFLD/NASH patients.
