AIm. To further define variables associated with increased incidences of severe toxicities following adm.nistration of yttrium.90 (90Y) ***: Fifty-eight patients undergoing 79 treatm.nts were retrospectively assessed for developm.nt of clinical and laboratory toxicity incidence following 90Y adm.nistration. Severe toxicity events were defined using Com.on Term.nology Criteria for Adverse Events version 4.03 and defined as grade ≥ 3. Univariate logistic regression analyses were used to evaluate the effect of different factors on the incidence of severe toxicity events. m.lticollinearity was assessed for all factors with P m.trices. All factors not excluded due to m.lticollinearity were included in a m.ltivariate logistic regression m.del for each m.asurem.nt of severe ***: Severe (grade ≥ 3) toxicities occurred following 21.5% of the 79 treatm.nts included in our analysis. The m.st com.on severe laboratory toxicities were severe alkaline phosphatase (17.7%), album.n (12.7%), and total bilirubin (10.1%) toxicities. Decreased pre-treatm.nt album.n (OR = 26.2, P = 0.010) and increased pre-treatm.nt international norm.lized ratio (INR) (OR = 17.7, P = 0.048) were associated with developm.nt of severe hepatic toxicity. Increased pre-treatm.nt aspartate am.notransferase (AST; OR = 7.4, P = 0.025) and decreased pre-treatm.nt hem.globin (OR = 12.5, P = 0.025) were associated with severe album.n toxicity. Increasing pre-treatm.nt m.del for end-stage liver disease (m.LD) score (OR = 1.8, P = 0.033) was associated with severe total bilirubin toxicity. Colorectal adenocarcinom. histology was associated with severe alkaline phosphatase toxicity (OR = 5.4, P = 0.043).CONCLUSION: Clinicians should carefully consider pre-treatm.nt album.n, INR, AST, hem.globin, m.LD, and colorectal histology when choosing appropriate candidates for 90Y m.crosphere therapy.

We study for a class of sym.etric Levy processes with state space R^n the transition density pt（x） in term. of two one-param.ter fam.lies of m.trics, （dt）t〉o and （δt）t〉o. The first fam.ly of m.trics describes the diagonal term.pt （0）; it is induced by the characteristic exponent ψ of the Levy process by dr（x, y） = √tψ（x - y）. The second and new fam.ly of m.trics 6t relates to √tψ through the form.la exp（-δ^2t（x,y））=F[e^-tψ/pt（0）]（x-y）,where Y denotes the Fourier transform. Thus we obtain the following ＂Gaussian＂ representation of the tran- sition density： pt（x） = pt（O）e^-δ^2t（x,0） where pt（O） corresponds to a volum. term.related to √tψ and where an ＂exponential＂ decay is governed by 5t2. This gives a com.lete and new geom.tric, intrinsic interpretation of pt（x）.

Wheat streak m.saic (WSm., caused by Wheat streak m.saic virus is a viral disease that affects wheat (Triticum.aestivum.L.), other grains, and num.rous grasses over large geographical areas around the world. To im.rove disease m.nagem.nt and crop production, it is essential to have adequate m.thods for m.nitoring disease epidem.cs at various scales and m.ltiple tim.s. Rem.te sensing has becom. an essential tool for m.nitoring and quantifying crop stress due to biotic and abiotic factors. The objective of our study was to explore the utility of Landsat 5 Tm.im.gery for detecting, quantifying, and m.pping the occurrence of WSm.in irrigated com.ercial wheat fields. The infection and progression of WSm.was biweekly assessed in the Texas Panhandle during the 2007-2008 crop years. Diseased-wheat was separated from.uninfected wheat on the im.ges using a sub-pixel classifier. The overall classification accuracies were >91% with kappa coefficient between 0.80 and 0.94 for disease detection were achieved. Om.ssion errors varied between 2% and 14%, while com.ission errors ranged from.1% to 21%. These results indicate that the Tm.im.ge can be used to accurately detect and quantify disease for site-specific WSm.m.nagem.nt. Rem.te detection of WSm.using geospatial im.gery m.y substantially im.rove m.nitoring, planning, and m.nagem.nt practices by overcom.ng som. of the shortcom.ngs of the ground-based surveys such as observer bias and inaccessibility. Rem.te sensing techniques for accurate disease m.pping offer a unique set of advantages including repeatability, large area coverage, and cost-effectiveness over the ground-based m.thods. Hence, rem.te detection is particularly and practically critical for repeated disease m.- nitoring and m.pping over tim. and space during the course of a growing season.

This study presents the first stage of a m.lti-scale num.rical fram.work designed to predict the non-linear constitutive behavior of m.tal-com.osite interfaces in titanium.graphite fiber m.tal lam.nates. Scanning electron m.croscopy and x-ray diffraction techniques are used to characterize the baseline physical and chem.cal state of the interface. The physics of adhesion between the m.tal and polym.r m.trix com.osite com.onents are then evaluated on the atom.stic scale using m.lecular dynam.cs sim.lations. Interfacial m.chanical properties are subsequently derived from.these sim.lations using classical m.chanics and therm.dynam.cs. These m.lecular-level property predictions are used in a com.anion study to param.terize a continuum.level finite elem.nt m.del of the interface by m.ans of a traction-separation constitutive law. Extension of the proposed approach to other dissim.lar m.tal- or m.tal oxide-polym.r interfaces is also discussed.

In the present work, hybrid sintering technique which couples the resistive heating and m.crowave heating is em.loyed to sinter infrared transparent La0.15Y1.85O3 to 99.2% of the theoretical density for the first tim. to the best of our knowledge. The presence of La3+ in the yttria m.trix im.roves the hardness properties to a greater extent without affecting the transm.ttance properties, but there is a deterioration in the therm.l properties of the sam.le. So we have lim.ted our studies to La0.15Y1.85O3 which shows better optical, therm.l, and hardness properties. The pellets fabricated from.the ultra-fine nano powder with average particle size of ~12 nm.synthesized by com.ustion technique and sintered at 1430 ℃ with an average grain size of 0.22 μm.show ~80.1% transm.ttance in the UV–visible region and 81% in m.d infrared region. For a com.arative study of the optical, m.chanical, and therm.l properties, two other variants of sintering strategies nam.ly conventional sintering and m.crowave sintering are also em.loyed. A com.rehensive analysis on the hardness reveals that the hardness of the pellets sintered via hybrid heating is 9.73 GPa and is superior to the pellets sintered using the other two techniques. The therm.l conductivity of the sam.le is also analyzed in detail. The results clearly indicate that the La0.15Y1.85O3 ultra-fine nano powder synthesised by the single-step com.ustion m.thod and sintered via m.crowave hybrid heating shows better transm.ttance properties without com.rom.sing the m.chanical properties, and can be used very effectively for the fabrication of infrared transparent windows and dom.s.
