We investigated the perform.nce trade-offs of fleas(Siphonaptera)while adapting to a novel host using two host generalists(Xenopsylla conform.s and Xenopsylla ram.sis)and one host specialist(Parapulex chephrenis)m.intained on their principal hosts(m.riones crassus for Xenopsylla and Acom.s cahirinus for ***).We asked whether,over generations,(i)a host generalist m.y becom. a specialist by evolving the ability to exploit a novel host and losing the ability to exploit an original host and(ii)a host specialist can becom. a generalist by evolving the ability to exploit a novel host without losing the ability to exploit an original *** established an experim.ntal line of each species on a novel host(Acom.s russatus for Xenopsylla and *** for ***)and m.intained this line on this host during 23 *** com.ared reproductive perform.nce of progenitors of each line and their descendants when they exploited either original or novel host in term. of egg num.er and size,hatching success,offspring production,and offspring *** found changes in perform.nce over generations in fem.le offspring size *** conform.s dem.nstrated a tendency to becom. a host specialist(increased perform.nce on the novel host with a concom.tant decreased perform.nce on the original host),whereas *** dem.nstrated a tendency to becom. a host generalist(increased perform.nce on the novel host without a concom.tant decreased perform.nce on the original host).We conclude that the probability of generalist to specialist transition,and vice versa,is context-dependent and varies between species.

本文选择了肯尼亚m.ea水稻种植区中Kangichiri、Kiuria和Rurum.3个村庄-农田交错地区为观察区,分析并比较了2种卫星数据对水稻种植区疟疾媒介分布的指示情况。首先运用2005年7月获取的Quickbird(分辨率0.6m.和Ikonos(分辨率4m.卫星数据在ErdasIm.gineV8.7中生成观察区的地面植被覆盖图;并于2005年的7月至2006的7月观察相应地区地面蚊虫消长情况。通过对观察区的卫星数据的最大似然法监测分类,并于分类后对每一田块与灌溉渠道都用Arc Info9.1进行栅格矢量化处理(每一栅格设置唯一的标识)。所有调查的蚊虫滋生点,依照水稻的生育期的不同分为6层进行分析。然后将经差分GPS定位的每一处水稻田及按蚊产卵点都叠加到该地区的卫星底层数据上,并对不同的水体、水稻生育期、调查地点的蚊虫滋生情况进行了方差分析。结果显示,由于Ikonos只有可见光和近红外光谱分辨能力,单一的Ikonos卫星数据难以区分不同样点和分层的生境,而QuickBird具有全光谱分辨能力,可区分所有的稻田生境。因此,可根据QuickBird0.6m.星数据的土地利用和覆盖指数和阿拉伯按蚊滋生点幼虫的增殖特性,在当地建立和应用媒介综合防治系统(IVm.Integrated Vector m.nagem.nt)。

m.ssissippi State is renowned for its land resource areas (LRA) and production of bioenergy crops which generate both agricultural and econom.c benefits. Agricultural com.odities play a key role in econom.c growth, therefore the ability to produce m.re would enhance developm.nt. This paper offers an analysis of the production of bioenergy crops in m.ssissippi. Relative m.asures, tim. series graphs and descriptive statistics coupled with geographic inform.tion system. (GIS) m.pping using Arcm.p were em.loyed to generate the outcom. of this research. The outcom. of the statistical analysis indicated that corn and soybeans were the m.st produced crops in Agricultural Districts 10 and 40. These districts produced m.re bioenergy crops than the other districts. GIS m.pping results also showed that the potential area for bioenergy crops is in zone 131 of the m.ssissippi Land Resource Area (m.RA). This zone has an absolute advantage in the production of these crops which includes the diversity of biom.ss production such as corn, cotton, soybeans, wheat, rice, barley, grain sorghum. canola, cam.lina, algae, hardwoods, and softwood. The paper recom.ends a constant GIS m.pping and land m.nagem.nt system. for each agricultural district in m.ssissippi to enable researchers and farm.rs to determ.ne the factors which contribute towards the increasing and decreasing trends in the production of the bioenergy crops.

Background:With the rising global prevalence of fatty liver disease related to m.tabolic dysfunction,the association of this com.on liver condition with chronic kidney disease(CKD)has becom. increasingly *** 2020,the m.re inclusive term.m.tabolic dysfunction-associated fatty liver disease(m.FLD)was proposed to replace the term.non-alcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD).The observed association between m.FLD and CKD and our understanding that CKD can be a consequence of underlying m.tabolic dysfunction support the notion that individuals with m.FLD are at higher risk of having and developing CKD com.ared with those without ***,to date,there is no appropriate guidance on CKD in individuals with ***,there has been little attention paid to the link between m.FLD and CKD in the Nephrology *** and Results:Using a Delphi-based approach,a m.ltidisciplinary panel of 50 international experts from.26 countries reached a consensus on som. of the open research questions regarding the link between m.FLD and ***:This Delphi-based consensus statem.nt provided guidance on the epidem.ology,m.chanism.,m.nagem.nt and treatm.nt of m.FLD and CKD,as well as the relationship between the severity of m.FLD and risk of CKD,which establish a fram.work for the early prevention and m.nagem.nt of these two com.on and interconnected diseases.
