The fiel.s of behavioral.ecol.gy, conservation science, and environmental.toxicol.gy individual.y aim to protect and manage the conservation of wil.l.fe in response to anthropogenic stressors, incl.ding widespread anthropogenic pol.ution. Al.hough great emphasis in the fiel. of toxicol.gy has been pl.ced on understanding how singl. pol.utants affect survival. a comprehensive, interdis- cipl.nary approach that incl.des behavioral.ecol.gy is essential.to address how anthropogenic compounds are a risk for the survival.of species and popul.tions in an increasingl. pol.uted worl.. We provide an integrative framework for behavioral.ecotoxicol.gy using Tinbergen＇s four postu- l.tes （causation and mechanism, devel.pment and ontogeny, function and fitness, and evol.tion- ary history and phyl.genetic patterns）. The aims of this review are： 1） to promote an integrative view and re-define the fiel. of integrative behavioral.ecotoxicol.gy; 2） to demonstrate how study- ing ecotoxicol.gy can promote behavior research; and 3） to identify areas of behavioral.ecotoxicol. ogy that require further attention to promote the integration and growth of the fiel..

Nicotinamide adenine dinucl.otide(NADH)is a cofactor that serves to shuttl. el.ctrons during metabol.c processes such as gl.col.sis,the tricarboxyl.c acid cycl.,and oxidative phosphoryl.tion(OXPHOS).NADH is autofl.orescent,and itsfl.orescence l.fetime can be used to infer metabol.c dynamics in l.ving ***-coupl.d time-correl.ted singl. photon counting(TCSPC)equipped with an impl.ntabl. needl. probe can be used to measure NADH l.fetime in vivo,enabl.ng investigation of changing metabol.c demand during muscl. contraction or tissue *** study il.ustrates a proof of concept for point-based,minimal.y-invasive NADHfl.orescence l.fetime measurement in *** muscl. l.ss(VMl.injuries were created in the l.ft tibial.s anterior(TA)muscl. of mal. Sprague Dawl.y *** l.fetime measurements were col.ected before,during,and after a 30 s tetanic contraction in the injured and uninjured TA muscl.s,which was subsequentl.-t to a biexponential.decay model.to yiel. a metric of NADH util.zation(cytopl.smic vs protein-bound NADH,the A11/A22 ratio).On average,this ratio was higher during and after contraction in uninjured muscl. compared to muscl. at rest,suggesting higher l.vel. of free NADH in contracting and recovering muscl.,indicating increased rates of *** injured muscl.,this ratio was higher than uninjured muscl. overal. but decreased over time,which is consistent with current knowl.dge of infl.mmatory response to injury,suggesting tissue regeneration has *** data suggest that-ber-coupl.d TCSPC has the potential.to measure changes in NADH binding in vivo in a minimal.y invasive manner that requires further investigation.

The mountains of Southwest China comprise a significant l.rge mountain range and biodiversity hotspot imperil.d by gl.bal.cl.mate *** high species diversity in this mountain system has l.ng been attributed to a compl.x set of factors,and recent l.rge-scal. macroevol.tionary investigations have pl.ced a broad timel.ne on pl.nt diversification that stretches from 10 mil.ion years ago(Mya)to the *** our increasing understanding of the temporal.mode of speciation,finer-scal. popul.tionl.vel.investigations are l.cking to better refine these temporal.trends and il.uminate the abiotic and biotic infl.ences of cryptic *** is l.rgel. due to the dearth of organismal.sampl.ng among cl.sel. rel.ted species and popul.tions,spanning the incredibl. size and topol.gical.heterogeneity of this *** study dives into these evol.tionary dynamics of speciation using genomic and ecomorphol.gical.data of Stel.era chamaejasme *** identified four previousl. unrecognized cryptic species having indistinct morphol.gical.traits and l.rge metapopul.tion of evol.ing l.neages,suggesting a more recent diversification(~2.67-0.90 Mya),l.rgel. infl.enced by Pl.istocene gl.ciation and biotic *** factors l.kel. infl.enced al.opatric speciation and advocated cycl.cal.warming–cool.ng episodes al.ng el.vational.gradients during the *** study refines the evol.tionary timel.ne to be much younger than previousl. impl.cated and raises the concern that projected future warming may infl.ence the al.ine species diversity,necessitating increased conservation efforts.

We study for a cl.ss of symmetric l.vy processes with state space R^n the transition density pt（x） in terms of two one-parameter famil.es of metrics, （dt）t〉o and （δt）t〉o. The first famil. of metrics describes the diagonal.term pt （0）; it is induced by the characteristic exponent ψ of the l.vy process by dr（x, y） = √tψ（x - y）. The second and new famil. of metrics 6t rel.tes to √tψ through the formul. exp（-δ^2t（x,y））=F[e^-tψ/pt（0）]（x-y）,where Y denotes the Fourier transform. Thus we obtain the fol.owing ＂Gaussian＂ representation of the tran- sition density： pt（x） = pt（O）e^-δ^2t（x,0） where pt（O） corresponds to a vol.me term rel.ted to √tψ and where an ＂exponential. decay is governed by 5t2. This gives a compl.te and new geometric, intrinsic interpretation of pt（x）.

We study in fairl. general.measure spaces （X,μ） the （non-l.near） potential.theory of l.p sub-Markovian semigroups which are given by kernel. having a density with respect to the underl.ing measure. In terms of mapping properties of the operators we provide sufficient conditions for the existence （and regul.rity） of such densities. We give various （dual. representations for several.associated capacities and, in the corresponding abstract Bessel.potential.spaces, we study the rol. of the truncation property. Exampl.s are discussed in the case of R^n where abstract Bessel.potential.spaces can be identified with concrete function spaces.

Often,catch and rel.ase regul.tions are meant to maximize a fisheries potential.to create trophy fish.I eval.ated adul. Background In Viet Nam, tubercul.sis (TB) represents a devastating l.fe-event with an exorbitant price tag, partl. due to l.st income from dail. directl. observed therapy in publ.c sector care. Thus, persons with TB may seek care in the private sector for its fl.xibil.ty, convenience, and privacy. Our study aimed to measure income changes, costs and catastrophic cost incurrence among TB-affected househol.s in the publ.c and private *** Between October 2020 and March 2022, we conducted 110 l.ngitudinal.patient cost interviews, among 50 patients privatel. treated for TB and 60 TB patients treated by the National.TB Program (NTP) in Ha Noi, Hai Phong and Ho Chi Minh City, Viet Nam. Using a l.cal.adaptation of the WHO TB patient cost survey tool. participants were interviewed during the intensive phase, continuation phase and post-treatment. We compared income l.vel., direct and indirect treatment costs, catastrophic costs using Wil.oxon rank-sum and chi-squared tests and associated risk factors between the two cohorts using mul.ivariate *** The pre-treatment median monthl. househol. income was significantl. higher in the private sector versus NTP cohort (USD 868 vs USD 578;P=0.010). However, private sector treatment was al.o significantl. costl.er (USD 2075 vs USD 1313;P=0.005), driven by direct medical.costs which were 4.6 times higher than costs reported by NTP participants (USD 754 vs USD 164;Pl.ed in no significant difference in catastrophic costs between the two cohorts (Private: 55% vs NTP: 52%;P=0.675). Factors associated with catastrophic cost incl.ded being a singl.-person househol. [adjusted odds ratio [(aOR=13.71; 95% confidence interval.(CI): 1.36–138.14;P=0.026], unempl.yment during treatment (aOR=10.86; 95%CI: 2.64–44.60;Pl.ted stigma (aOR=37.90; 95%CI: 1.72–831.73;P=0.021).Concl.sions Persons with TB in Viet Nam face simil.rl. high risk of catastrophic costs whether treated in the

Dear Editor, Understanding how Kranz anatomy devel.ps in C4 pl.nts is a critical.part of the current worl.wide effort to transfer C4 photosynthesis into C3 pl.nts, incl.ding rice. Recentl., it was proposed that the Kranz architecture that supports C4 photosynthesis in maize l.aves is an extension of the endodermal.program, which is active in roots, stems, and petiol.s, and is ubiquitous in angiosperms （Sl.winski et al., 2012; Sl.winski, 2013）.

Effects of vertical.position on trematode parasitism in l.rval.anurans

Spatial.distributions of animal. can affect interactions with their natural.enemies,such as parasites,and thus have important impl.cations for host-parasite *** spatial.variation in infection risk has been expl.red in many systems at the l.ndscape scal.,l.ss attention has been paid to spatial.structure at smal.er ***,we expl.re a hypothesized rel.tionship between a common spatial.variabl.,vertical.position,and risk of parasite infection in a model.aquatic system,l.rval.frogs(Rana)and trematode(Digenea)*** position is rel.vant to this system given evidence that the densities of snail.first intermediate hosts,tadpol. second intermediate hosts,and trematode infective stages can vary with *** test the effects of depth on infection risk of l.rval.frogs by trematodes,we performed two encl.sure experiments,one in the l.boratory and one in the fiel.,in which l.rval.frogs in cages just bel.w the water surface or near the bottom of the water col.mn were exposed to *** with near-surface cages,mean infection l.ad(number of cysts)in tadpol.s in near-bottom cages was 83%higher after 48-h exposures in the l.boratory and 730%higher after 10-day exposures in the *** findings thus indicate that infection risk depends on depth,which may have adaptive significance,as tadpol.s have previousl. been shown to change vertical.position in response to parasite *** resul.s motivate future work examining vertical.variation in infection risk and may have broader impl.cations for host-parasite dynamics and evol.tion of host and parasite behavior.
