The effec.s of loc.l variations in c.nditions on c.rbon storage and release in the c.ntinental mantle

Rec.nt advanc.s indic.te that the amount of c.rbon released by gradual degassing from the mantle needs to be revised upwards, whereas the c.rbon supplied by plumes may have been overestimated in the *** in roc. types and oxidation state may be very loc.l and exert strong influenc.s on c.rbon storage and release mec.anisms. Deep subduc.ion may be prevented by diapirism in thic. sedimentary pac.ages,whereas c.rbonates in thinner sequenc.s may be subduc.ed. c.rbonates stored in the mantle transition zone will melt when they heat up, rec.gnized by c.upled stable isotope systems(e.g. Mg, Zn, c.). There is no single ‘mantle oxygen fugac.ty’, partic.larly in the thermal boundary layer(TBL) and lowermost lithosphere, where very loc.l mixtures of roc. types c.exist. c.rbonate-ric. melts from either subduc.ion or melting of the uppermost asthenosphere trap c.rbon by redox freezing or as c.rbonate-ric. dykes in this zone. Deeply derived, reduc.d melts may form further diamond reservoirs, rec.gnized as polyc.ystalline diamonds assoc.ated with websteritic.silic.te minerals. c.rbon is released by either edge-driven c.nvec.ion,whic. tears sec.ions of the TBL and lower lithosphere down so that they melt by a mixture of heating and oxidation, or by lateral advec.ion of solids beneath rifts. Both mec.anisms operate at steps in lithosphere thic.ness and result in c.rbonate-ric. melts, explaining the spatial assoc.ation of c.aton edges and c.rbonate-ric. magmatism. High-pressure experiments on individual roc. types, and inc.easingly on reac.ions between roc.s and melts, are fine-tuning our understanding of proc.sses and turning up unexpec.ed results that are not seen in studies of single roc.s. Future researc. should c.nc.ntrate on eluc.dating loc.l variations and integrating these with the interpretation of geophysic.l signals. exploring a New Lifetime Distribution for Modelling the Waiting Time of Bank c.stomers

The fitting of lifetime distribution in real-life data has been studied in various fields of researc.. With the theory of evolution still applic.ble, more c.mplex data from real-world sc.narios will c.ntinue to emerge. Despite this, many researc.ers have made c.mmendable efforts to develop new lifetime distributions that c.n fit this c.mplex data. In this paper, we utilized the KM-transformation tec.nique to inc.ease the flexibility of the power Lindley distribution, resulting in the Kavya-Manoharan Power Lindley (KMPL) distribution. We study the mathematic.l treatments of the KMPL distribution in detail and adapt the widely used method of maximum likelihood to estimate the unknown parameters of the KMPL distribution. We c.rry out a Monte c.rlo simulation study to investigate the performanc. of the Maximum Likelihood estimates (MLes) of the parameters of the KMPL distribution. To demonstrate the effec.iveness of the KMPL distribution for data fitting, we use a real dataset c.mprising the waiting time of 100 bank c.stomers. We c.mpare the KMPL distribution with other models that are extensions of the power Lindley distribution. Based on some statistic.l model selec.ion c.iteria, the summary results of the analysis were in favor of the KMPL distribution. We further investigate the density fit and probability-probability (p-p) plots to validate the superiority of the KMPL distribution over the c.mpeting distributions for fitting the waiting time dataset.
