William R. Downs, Ⅲ, known as Dong Weilin to many friends, died a relatively young man ( 1950 ～ 2002) at the height of his career in *** career began at the Museum of Northern Arizona in 1975. One of his early tasks was the preparation of Triassic cynodonts from Antarctica for Edwin ***, then Curator Emeritus of the American Museum of Natural history and Curator of Vertebrate Paleontology at the Museum of Northern Arizona (Colbert and Kitching, 1977). Will prepared the Early Jurassic armored ornithischian Scutellosaurus for Colbert (1981), and he collected and prepared a skull of Pentaceratops from the Cretaceous of the San Juan Basin (Rowe et al., 1981 ).One of his early ventures into screen-washing was near the Pentaceratops site in the San Juan Basin (Flynn, 1986) where mammals were poorly represented. In the mid-1980' s, Will left the Museum of Northern Arizona to become affiliated with Northern Arizona University, also in Flagstaff. In addition, he was briefly employed to revamp the fossil preparation laboratories at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, during which time he joined in excavations of a large series of small primitive ornithopods in Texas (Winkler et al.,1988). he maintained an office at the Bilby Research Center, and then the Department of Geology,at Northern Arizona University until the time of his death

We study a conflict of two individuals over a valuable *** construct a sequential game where the first individual,the Owner,decides whether to defend the resource and the other individual,the Intruder,decides whether to attack and try to steal the *** know the value of the resource to *** provides the individuals an estimate of the value of the resource to the *** build a mathematical model that allows us to quantify and vary the accuracy of this *** study how the outcomes of the game depend on the *** show that,in our setting,the accuracy does not matter to the Intruder but it does to the *** resources of a large value,the Owner benefits from a smaller ***,for resources of a small value,the Owner benefits from a bigger accuracy.

A discrete-event system simulation and animation program was developed to enhance the efficiency of a truck-excavator operation and reduce the environmental impact of haulage in an open-cut coal mine with multiple-pit operations. In any mine, a key objective is to have sufficient equipment for production and not to have excess to where it becomes counterproductive. Due to the advent of responsible mining,environmental regulations, and eco-friendly practices, these factors must also be considered in the analysis. Simulation studies can be financially advantageous for both the optimization of existing mine operations and new development phases in a mine. This study is a new approach to use discrete-event system simulation for mine systems, in order to investigate and possibly reduce environmental impact considering mining haulage performance and production target. A hypothetical layout of a surface coal mine with two pit operations was used for the simulation and animation model. The simulation model includes the animation of the operation. Animation is helpful to enhance the benefit of a mine simulation model. GPSS/hòand Proof Professionalòwere the software used for the investigation.

The present study investigated the efficiency of Aspergillus sydowii strain bpol(GenBank Accession Number:MK373021)in the removal of anthracene(100 mg/L).Optimal degradation efficiency(98.7%)was observed at neutral ph,temperature(30℃),biomass weight(2 g)and salinity(0.2%w/v)within 72 *** enzyme analyses revealed 131%,107%,and 89%induction in laccase,lignin peroxidase,and manganese peroxidase respectively during anthracene ***,the degradation efficiency(99.8%)and enzyme induction were significantly enhanced with the addition of 100 mg/L of citric acid and glucose to the *** varying anthracene concentrations(100-500 mg/L),the degradation rate constants(K1)peaked with increasing concentration of anthracene while the half-life(t1/2)decreases with increase in anthracene *** of fit(R2=0.976 and 0.982)was observed when the experimental data were subjected to Langmuir and Temkin models respectively which affirmed the monolayer and heterogeneous nature exhibited by *** cells during *** distinct metabolites;anthracene-1,8,9(2h,8ah,9ah)-trione,2,4adihydronaphthalene-1,5-dione,l,3,3a,7a-tetrahydro-2-benzofuran-4,7-dione and 2-hydroxybenzoic acid was obtained through Gas Chromatography-Mass spectrometry(GC-MS).*** exhibited promising potentials in the removal of PAhs.

Background: Marek’s disease(MD) is a highly contagious pathogenic and oncogenic disease primarily affecting chickens. however, the mechanisms of genetic resistance for MD are complex and not fully understood. MD-resistant line 63and MD-susceptible line 72are two highly inbred progenitor lines of White Leghorn. Recombinant Congenic Strains(RCS) were developed from these two lines, which show varied susceptibility to ***: We investigated genetic structure and genomic signatures across the genome, including the line 63and line72, six RCSs, and two reciprocally crossed flocks between the lines 63and 72(F1 63× 72and F1 72× 63) using Affymetrix~? Axiom~? hD 600 K genotyping array. We observed 18 chickens from RCS lines were specifically clustered into resistance sub-groups distributed around line 63. Additionally, homozygosity analysis was employed to explore potential genetic components related to MD resistance, while runs of homozygosity(ROh) are regions of the genome where the identical haplotypes are inherited from each parent. We found several genes including SIK, SOX1, LIG4, SIK1 and TNFSF13B were contained in ROh region identified in resistant group(line 63and RCS), and these genes have been reported that are contribute to immunology and survival. Based on FSTbased population differential analysis, we also identified important genes related to cell death and anti-apoptosis, including AKT1, API5, CDh13, CFDP and USP15,which could be involved in divergent selection during inbreeding ***: Our findings offer valuable insights for understanding the genetic mechanism of resistance to MD and the identified genes could be considered as candidate biomarkers in further evaluation.

hydrogen is one of the most promising energy carriers to replace fossil fuels and electrolyzing water to produce hydrogen is a very effective ***,designing highly active and stable non-precious metal hydrogen evolution electrocatalysts that can be used in universal ph is a huge ***,we have reported a simple strategy to develop a highly active and durable non-precious MoO2-Ni electrocatalyst for hydrogen evolution reaction(hER)in a wide ph *** MoO2-Ni catalyst exhibits a superior electrocatalytic performance with low overpotentials of 46,69,and 84 mV to reach-10 mA cm-2 in 1.0 M KOh,0.5 M h2SO4,and 1.0 M PBS electrolytes,*** the same time,the catalyst also shows outstanding stability over a wide ph *** is particularly noted that the catalytic performance of MoO2-Ni in alkaline solution is comparable to the highest performing catalysts *** outstanding hER performance is mainly attributed to the collective effect of the rational morphological design,electronic structure engineering,and strong interfacial coupling between MoO2 and Ni in *** work provides a viable method for the synthesis of inexpensive and efficient hER electrocatalysts for the use in wide ph ranges.

Constructing a low cost,and high-efficiency oxygen evolution reaction(OER)electrocatalyst is of great significance for improving the performance of alkaline electrolyzer,which is still suffering from highenergy ***,we created a porous iron phosphide and tungsten oxide self-supporting electrocatalyst with oxygen-containing vacancies on foam nickel(Fe_(2)P-WO_(2.92)/NF)through a facile insitu growth,etching and phosphating *** sequence-controllable strategy will not only generate oxygen vacancies and improve the charge transfer between Fe_(2)P and WO_(2.92) components,but also improve the catalyst porosity and expose more active *** studies illustrate that the Fe_(2)P-WO_(2.92)/NF catalyst presents good OER activity with a low overpotential of 267 mV at 100 mA cm^(-2),a small Tafel slope of 46.3 mV dec^(-1),high electrical conductivity,and reliable stability at high current density(100 mA cm^(-2) for over 60 h in 1.0 M KOh solution).Most significantly,the operating cell voltage of Fe_(2)P-WO_(2.92)/NF‖Pt/C is as low as 1.90 V at 400 mA cm^(-2) in alkaline condition,which is one of the lowest reported in the *** electrocatalytic mechanism shows that the oxygen vacancies and the synergy between Fe_(2)P and WO_(2.92) can adjust the electronic structure and provide more reaction sites,thereby synergistically increasing OER *** work provides a feasible strategy to fabricate high-efficiency and stable non-noble metal OER electrocatalysts on the engineering interface.

The joint European Space Agency and Chinese Academy of Sciences Solar wind Magnetosphere Ionosphere Link Explorer(SMILE)mission will explore global dynamics of the magnetosphere under varying solar wind and interplanetary magnetic field conditions,and simultaneously monitor the auroral response of the Northern hemisphere *** these large-scale responses with medium and fine-scale measurements at a variety of cadences by additional ground-based and space-based instruments will enable a much greater scientific impact beyond the original goals of the SMILE ***,we describe current community efforts to prepare for SMILE,and the benefits and context various experiments that have explicitly expressed support for SMILE can offer.A dedicated group of international scientists representing many different experiment types and geographical locations,the Ground-based and Additional Science Working Group,is facilitating these *** include constructing an online SMILE Data Fusion Facility,the discussion of particular or special modes for experiments such as coherent and incoherent scatter radar,and the consideration of particular observing strategies and spacecraft *** anticipate growing interest and community engagement with the SMILE mission,and we welcome novel ideas and insights from the solar-terrestrial community.

Objective:To investigate levels of awareness of dengue among the inhabitants of Queensland(QLD),a dengue-prevalent state in the north east of ***:A computer-assisted telephone interviewing survey was conducted in mid2014.A total of 1 223 randomly selected respondents( 18 years) across QLD completed a structured questionnaire covering all aspects of ***:97.55% had heard of dengue and participated *** them,54.70% had travelled overseas(48.11% to dengue-risk countries) in the last five years.A total of94.47% said transmission is by mosquito *** addition,84.83% knew of current transmission of dengue in QLD,while 80.97% knew the focus is Far North and North ***,2.35% and 8.97% had experienced an infection in their life or that of their immediate family/partner,respectively.85.03% identified correctly at least one means of prevention.A total of 69.72% advised to use insect repellent,wear covered clothing and avoid visiting mosquito-prone areas while 20.93% advised fumigation and clearing water containers around *** was a significant difference(P h East QLD and the rest of QLD regarding knowledge of ***,such awareness was not affected significantly by overseas travel(P > 0.05).Conclusions:Although many people throughout QLD have heard of dengue,about 15%appear unaware of local transmission,its symptoms and of methods to reduce risk of infection.A lack of knowledge regarding prevention of mosquito breeding is evident in South East QLD,where dengue is not currently *** study suggests that future dengue awareness campaigns should target communities in both endemic and potentially endemic areas throughout Queensland.
