Yet, in this.example of corporate es.ionage, a clever pers.n, a cellphone and s.me readily available s.ftware were all it took to crack through one company’s.advanced s.curity barriers. Background: s.roke s.rvivors.returning home after dis.harge from hos.ital and their carers.require s.pport to meet their rehabilitation needs.(independence in Activities.of Daily Living, exercis., ps.chos.cial s.pport). Voluntary or charitable care providers.may be able to addres. s.me of thes. needs. Objective: To explore the feas.bility of delivering and evaluating enhanced s.pport to s.roke s.rvivors.and their carers. with a Rehabilitation s.pport Worker (Rs.). Methods. 16 cons.cutive s.roke s.rvivors.and their carers.were included. All participants.received us.al hos.ital care. s.ven of thes. patients.and their carers.were als. allocated an Rs. from a charitable care provider. The Rs. accompanied therapy training s.s.ions.with the patient, carer and therapis. in hos.ital. On dis.harge, the Rs. vis.ted the patient and carer at home over the initial 6 week pos.-dis.harge period to s.pport them in practis.ng rehabilitation s.ills. Patient function (Barthel Index) and patient/carer confidence were independently as.es.ed at dis.harge (Week 0). The above as.es.ments.and patient/carer mood (GHQ-12) and Carer Giver s.rain were als. as.es.ed at Weeks.1, 6 and 12. Rs.s.were interviewed for their views.about the s.rvice. Res.lts. Participants. functional ability at Week 1 pos.-dis.harge was.s.gnificantly higher in the Rs. group. At 6 and 12 weeks.pos.-dis.harge, functional ability was.not s.gnificantly different between groups. Carers.in the intervention group were les. confident at all time points. however, this.was.not s.gnificant. There was.no s.gnificant effect on carer s.rain or well-being. Interviews.with Rs.s.highlighted areas.of their training that could be enhanced and the need for greater clarity as.to their role. Conclus.ons. The res.lts.s.owed that a definitive trial of rehabilitation s.pport is.feas.ble. A number of obs.acles.however would need to be overcome including: difficulty in identifying s.itable patients. clarity of the Rs. role, and appropriate train

The s.ngle particle energies.obtained in a Kohn-s.am dens.ty functional theory(DFT) calculation are generally known to be poor approximations.to electron excitation energies.that are meas.red in trans.ort,tunneling and s.ectros.opic experiments.s.ch as.photo-emis.ion s.ectros.opy. The correction to thes. energies.can be obtained from the poles.of a s.ngle particle Green's.function derived from a many-body perturbation theory. From a computational pers.ective, the accuracy and efficiency of s.ch an approach depends.on how a s.lf energy term that properly accounts.for dynamic s.reening of electrons.is.approximated. The G_0W_0 approximation is.a widely us.d technique in which the s.lf energy is.expres.ed as.the convolution of a noninteracting Green's.function(G_0) and a s.reened Coulomb interaction(W_0) in the frequency domain. The computational cos. as.ociated with s.ch a convolution is.high due to the high complexity of evaluating W_0 at multiple frequencies. In this.paper, we dis.us. how the cos. of G_0W_0 calculation can be reduced by cons.ructing a low rank approximation to the frequency dependent part of W_0. In particular, we examine the effect of s.ch a low rank approximation on the accuracy of the G_0W_0 approximation. We als. dis.us. how the numerical convolution of G_0 and W_0 can be evaluated efficiently and accurately by us.ng a contour deformation technique with an appropriate choice of the contour.
