Recently,metal-organic framework (MOF)@enzyme composites have attracted increasing research ***,the fabrication of polymers-modified MOF@enzyme composites with high bio-catalytic performance remains ***,a stimulus-responsive polymer,poly(acrylate-3',3'-dimethyl-6-nitro-spiro-2H-1-benzopyran-2,2' indoline-1'-ester-co-N-isopropyl acrylamide) (PSPN);was in-situ polymerized in UiO-66-NH2 (UN).The dual-responsive PSPN-UN@L-ASNase composites were constructed following L-asparaginase (L-ASNase) covalently attached to the UN ***,under 365 nm UV irradiation at 45 ℃,the PSP moiety in PSPN underwent a trans-to-cis conformational change and the PN moiety in PSPN transferred from a stretched- to a coiled-state,generating a confinement effect that significantly enhanced the bio-catalytic performance of the *** with free L-ASNase,the composites showed a 42.0-folds increase in maximum catalytic reaction ***,the PSPN-UN@L-ASNase composites demonstrated high toxicity for Jurkat leukaemia *** stimulus-responsive polymer-MOF@enzyme composites provide a novel avenue for controlled bio-catalysis with great potential for targeted leukaemia therapy.

In Pakistan, particularly in Punjab Province, it is difficult for agrofarmers to combine their indigenous knowledge and modern scientific methods to evaluate existing traditional farming systems and forestry practices. This requires an evaluation of indigenous soil classification in simple terms along with knowledge of the local flora, especially trees. This study focuses on land suitability classification for trees in the Attock District of Punjab, Pakistan. A survey was conducted which included interviews of local agrofarmers as well as standard soil analyses including both chemical and physical determinations of local soil types. An evaluation of soil types for cultivation of various crops was carried out given its total extent, component soil series and their proportions, spotting characteristics of each soil series and their major limitations/hazards for trees/crops. These would lead to the identification of various tree species according to soil characteristics. Then, according to the soil types and species, a land suitability map was obtained for the choice of tree species by using geographic information system （GIS） software. Land suitability classification will help local agroforesters/agrofarmers in matching suitable agricultural trees/crops properly for different soils in the area.

Cellular environments are in essence stochastic, owing to the random character of the biochemical reaction events in a single cell. Stochastic fluctuations may substantially contribute to the dynamics of systems with small copy numbers of some biochemical species. Then, stochastic models are indispensable for properly portraying the behaviour of the system. Sensitivity analysis is one of the central tools for studying stochastic models of cellular dynamics. Here, we propose some finite-difference strategies for estimating parametric sensitivities of higher-order moments of the system state for stochastic discrete biochemical kinetic models. To reduce the variance of the sensitivity estimator, we employ various coupling techniques. The advantages of the proposed methods are illustrated in several models of biochemical systems of practical relevance.

The present research paper presents the synthesis, characterization, biological and computational studies of 4-(benzylideneamino) benzoic acid derivatives(3a~3g). Derivatives 3a~3c displayed best antidiabetic potential with a glucose-lowering effect compared to the reference drug Glibenclamide. Biochemical parameters including plasma glucose, serum triglycerides, cholesterol, alanine amino transferase and aspartate amino transferase levels showed significant alterations in concentrations relative to the control. Similarly, the derivatives 3a, 3d and 3e displayed potent in vitro antibacterial potential. Molecular docking simulations delineated that the ligands and complexes were stabilized at the active site by electrostatic and hydrophobic forces, consistent with the corresponding experimental results. In silico study of the binding pattern predicted that the synthesized ligands, 3d and 3a could serve as a potential surrogate for hit-to-lead generation and the design of novel antibacterial drugs.

With the increasing global water scarcity,wastewater irrigation has become widespread,but it can have detrimental ecological *** wastewater contains valuable nutrients for plants,improper treatment or the use of untreated wastewater in irrigation can negatively impact soil fertility and plant *** study is divided into two parts:firstly,a phytosociological survey was conducted to identify plant species with the highest importance value index(IVI)in the vicinity of wastewaterirrigated ***,a comparative morpho-anatomical analysis was carried out to investigate the morpho-anatomical adaptations of the species with the highest IVI under wastewater irrigation compared to normal water *** results of the phytosociological survey revealed the presence of 51 plant species in the vicinity of the wastewater-irrigated areas,with varying relative densities and *** inoxia exhibited the highest IVI(28.79),followed by Xanthium strumarium(24.34),while Lippia nodiflora showed the lowest IVI(1.86).The morphological growth of *** was superior under normal water irrigation,but the average root length was greater under wastewater *** cell anatomy,cell thickness and cell area characteristics in the dermal,ground,and vascular tissues of the stem and root tended to be greater under wastewater ***,the opposite trend was observed in leaf anatomical analysis,possibly due to the combined effect of wastewater and climatic *** and root xylem thickness were greater under wastewater irrigation,whereas phloem thickness was higher under normal water *** number of vascular bundles in the stem,root,and leaf was higher under wastewater treatment compared to normal water irrigation,but their arrangement was circular in the latter and scattered under wastewater *** inoxia demonstrated strong adaptive potential under wastewater irrigation,as indicated by its highest relative d

Objective: To explore anti-hyperalgesic properties of methanol extract of Piptadeniastrum africanum stem bark(PAME) and it possible action mechanism. Methods: PAME was tested on carrageenan ?induced hyperalgesia using plantar test(thermal) and analgesymeter(mechanical) in rats, on prostaglandin E_2(PGE_2) induced mechanical hyperalgesia and vincristine induced neuropathic pain in rat, both with analgesymeter. Modulators of NO/cG MP/K^+ channel pathway and endogenous opioids receptor antagonists and/or agonists were used to determine the possible action mechanism of PAME. Results: PAME significantly decreased carrageenan induced thermal and mechanical hyperalgesia, as well as PGE_2 induced mechanical hyperalgesia. PAME significantly protected the animals against the installation of neuropathic pain. Anti-nociception activity produced by PAME was significantly blocked in animals pre?treated with all the antagonists(naloxone, NW-nitro-L-arginine methyl ester(L-NAME), methylene blue and glibenclamide). Conclusions: Results of this study reveal that, PAME administrate orally, can induce anti-hyperalgesic action against installation of inflammatory pain as well as neuropathic pain. The mechanism underlying PAME antihyperalgesic effect could probably be associated with an activation of opioid receptors and NO/cG MP/K^+ channel pathway.

Contactless monitoring with photoelectron microspectroscopy of the surface potential along individual nano-structures,created by the X-ray nanoprobe,opens exciting possibilities to examine quantitatively size-and surface-chemistry-effects on the electrical transport of semiconductor nanowires(NWs).Implementing this novel approach-which combines surface chemical microanalysis with conductivity measurements-we explored the dependence of the electrical properties of undoped GaAs NWs on the NW width,temperature and surface *** following the evolution of the Ga 3d and As 3d core level spectra,we measured the position-dependent surface potential along the GaAs NWs as a function of NW diameter,decreasing from 120 to~20 nm,and correlated the observed decrease of the conductivity with the monotonic reduction in the NW diameter from 120 to~20 *** of the GaAs NWs to oxygen ambient leads to a decrease in their conductivity by up to a factor of 10,attributed to the significant decrease in the carrier density associated with the formation of an oxide shell.
