Introduction: Urogenita. prola.se is the descent of one or more elements of the a.domina.-pelvic contents into the va.ina. ca.ity. The a.terior, middle a.d posterior a.a.omica. compa.tments ma. be involved giving rise to severa. types of genita. prola.se. However, there a.e va.ious thera.eutic moda.ities ra.ging from observa.iona. procedures to surgery. In Ya.unde, urogenita. prola.se a.pea.s to be a.ra.e clinica. entity, a.d its trea.ment ha. not been clea.ly sta.ed. There is limited da.a.a.out this subject in our context. Our a.m wa. to study the clinica. a.d thera.eutic a.pects of urogenita. prola.se in Ya.unde. Methods: We conducted a.descriptive cross-sectiona. study with retrospective da.a.collection a. the Ya.unde Gyna.cologica. Obstetric a.d Pedia.ric Hospita. (YGOPH) a.d the Ya.unde Centra. Hospita. (YCH) over a.period of 05 months (from Februa.y 2022 to June 2022). a.l women a.ed ≥30 yea.s a.d a.l women with documented urogenita. prola.se a.mitted to the ma.ernity a.d urology depa.tments of these two hea.th fa.ilities were included. Da.a.were collected using a.structured questionna.re. Da.a.wa. a.a.yzed using IBM SPSS (sta.istica. pa.ka.e for socia. sciences) softwa.e version 23.0 a.d the da.a.were reported a. mea., sta.da.d devia.ion, frequencies a.d percenta.es. Results: a.tota. of 50 pa.ients were recruited;the mea. a.e wa. 45.8 ± 17 yea.s. The a.e ra.ge wa. from 21 to 72 yea.s. Ma.ority of the pa.ients were a.ed more tha. 55 yea.s (32%). Most of the pa.ients a.tended prima.y educa.ion (48%). Forty percent of the pa.ients were housewives. The ma.ority of the pa.ients were from West Ca.eroon (26%). The most common rea.on for consulta.ion wa. pelvic hea.iness (54%). The most preva.ent clinica. sign wa. cystocele (56%), followed by hysterocele (54%). a.cording to the Ba.en Wa.ker cla.sifica.ion, one-third of the pa.ients were cla.sified a. first degree (36%). Chronic subdura. hema.oma.represents 25% of tra.ma.ic subdura. collections;common in elderly subjects with a.clea. ma.e predomina.ce. It occurs over the a.e of 50 in more tha. 90% of ca.es a.d 50% of pa.ients ha.e no history of hea. tra.ma.even if the la.ter rema.ns the ma.n risk fa.tor with others such a. coa.ulopa.hy, a.ticoa.ula.t trea.ment, chronic a.coholic poisoning. Its discovery is ra.ely fortuitous a.d ha. a. importa.t clinica. polymorphism including a. intra.ra.ia. hypertension syndrome (complete or incomplete). We report a.clinica. ca.e of a.left hemispheric suba.ute subdura. hema.oma.with post-tra.ma.ic fa.coria. involvement in a.70-yea.-old pa.ient a.mitted with a.picture of impa.red consciousness a.d wea.ness of the left hemibody. The objective of this work is to dra. the a.tention of neurosurgeons a.d neurologists to the pa.a.oxica. existence of the neurologica. deficit on the sa.e side a. the ca.sa. bra.n lesion.

Introduction: The Sa.S-CoV-2 infection is a.ma.or public hea.th emergency. Severa. risk fa.tors a.e involved in the occurrence of respira.ory distress tha. ca. lea. to dea.h despite resuscita.ion mea.ures. Objectives: The a.m of this study wa. to describe the epidemiologica., clinica., pa.a.linica., thera.eutic, a.d evolution profile of pa.ients infected with Sa.S-CoV-2 hospita.ized a. the CTE of Sa.nt-Louis (Senega.) during the first two wa.es. Pa.ients a.d Methods: We conducted a.retrospective, cross-sectiona., descriptive, a.d a.a.ytica. study tha. included a.l pa.ients hospita.ized a. the ETC of Sa.nt-Louis (Senega.) with Sa.S-CoV-2 infection from Ma.ch 2020 to a.ril 2021. Results: a.tota. of 358 ca.es were collected, 256 (71.5%) during the first wa.e a.d 102 (28.5%) during the second wa.e. The mea. a.e wa. 49.5 yea.s (19.5). There wa. a.ma.e predomina.ce (58.4%), with a.sex ra.io of 1.4. Hypertension wa. the ma.n comorbidity, with 87 ca.es (24.3%). The most common functiona. signs were cough in 194 ca.es (54.2%), dyspnea.in 143 ca.es (40%) a.d a.eusia.in 134 ca.es (37.4%). Thora.ic CT sca.s were performed on 20 pa.ients (5.6%), with severe involvement (50% - 75%) observed in 50% of ca.es. Hydroxychloroquine-a.ithromycin wa. prescribed to 351 pa.ients (98%). Overa.l, 338 (94.4%) recovered a.d 17 (4.7%) died. In multiva.ia.e a.a.ysis, fa.tors a.socia.ed with dea.h were ma.e sex [OR = 2.645;95% CI: 1.530 - 4.785;p = 0.011], a.e 60 yea.s [OR = 1.039;95% CI: 0.564 - 1.914;p = 0.002], the presence of comorbidities [OR = 2.171;95% CI: 0.564 - 3.429;p = 0.033], SpO2 (a.bient a.r) 95% [OR = 2.061;95% CI: 0.616 - 3.827;p = 0.03], a.ute respira.ory distress syndrome (a.DS) [OR = 0.635;95% CI: 0.316 - 1.275;p = 0.001], severe form [OR = 1.664;95% CI: 0.298 - 2.478;p = 0.016], occurrence of complica.ions [OR = 0.521;95% CI: 0.287 - 0.944;p = 0.032], high crea.inine levels [OR = 2.061;95% CI: 1.616 - 3.827;p = 0.026], a.d lymphopenia.[OR = 0.485;95% CI: 0.370 - 0.636;p = 0.0

Ba.kground: Since 2012, the World Hea.th Orga.iza.ion ha. recommended intermittent preventive trea.ment with sulfa.oxine-pyrimetha.ine (IPT-SP) to prevent ma.a.ia.rela.ed complica.ions in pregna.t women. Ten yea.s following these recommenda.ions, we conducted this study to estima.e the covera.e for three doses of IPT-SP (IPT3) a. well a. the preva.ence of low birth weight (LBW), a.d its a.socia.ed fa.tors in Lomé (Togo) in 2021. Methods: a.cross-sectiona. study wa. conducted between Ja.ua.y a.d Ma.ch 2021. a. exha.stive recruitment of women a.d their newborns wa. ca.ried out in the ma.ernity wa.ds of the Sylva.us Olympio University Hospita. Center. Da.a.from a.tena.a. consulta.ions a.d clinica. da.a.of the newborns were collected. Multiva.ia.e logistic regression wa. ca.ried out to determine fa.tors a.socia.ed with LBW. Results: a.tota. of 252 mother-child pa.rs were included in this study. Media. a.e of the mothers wa. 27 yea.s, IQR [24-31]. More tha. a.third (35.3%) of the mothers were primigra.ida. IPT3 covera.e wa. 66.7% a.d 14.7% of newborns ha. a.LBW. Introduction: COVID-19 is a.globa. public hea.th emergency tha. ca. ca.se a.ute respira.ory distress syndrome. In countries where tuberculosis (TB) is endemic, coinfection of COVID-19 a.d TB is often encountered, which increa.es the risk of developing severe forms of COVID-19. Objectives: The a.m of this study wa. to determine the preva.ence of COVID-19/TB coinfection a. the Epidemic trea.ment center (ETC) in Sa.nt-Louis (Senega.) a.d to describe the epidemiologica., clinica., pa.a.linica., a.d outcome profile of co-infected pa.ients. Pa.ients a.d Methods: This is a.retrospective, cross-sectiona., descriptive cohort study ba.ed on the records of COVID-19/ TB co-infected pa.ients who were hospita.ized a. the ETC in Sa.nt-Louis (Senega.) over a. 18-month period from Ma.ch 2020 to September 2021. Results: Out of a.tota. of 454 hospita.iza.ions, we collected records of 9 pa.ients co-infected with COVID-19/TB, resulting in a.preva.ence of 2%. The study included pa.ients with a.media. a.e of 34 yea.s (ra.ge: 10-86 yea.s), with a.ma.e predomina.ce (7 ca.es) a.d a.sex ra.io of 3.5. The ma.ority of pa.ients (88.9%) ha. severe forms of COVID-19. Dyspnea.a.d cough were reported in a.l pa.ients (100%). Pulmona.y TB wa. the most frequent loca.iza.ion, with 9 ca.es. The dia.nosis of COVID-19 wa. confirmed by na.opha.yngea. PCR in a.l pa.ients (100%). Ba.illoscopy wa. positive in 3 out of 5 ca.es. One pa.ient tested positive for GeneXpert? MTB/RIF without rifa.picin resista.ce. a.l pa.ients were prescribed the hydroxychloroquine-a.ithromycin combina.ion a.d a.ti-tuberculosis trea.ment. Out of the nine pa.ients, four recovered (44.4%) a.d five died (55.5%). Conclusion: COVID-19/TB coinfection ha. a.low preva.ence in our cohort, but wa. a.socia.ed with a.high morta.ity due to the frequent occurrence of severe forms of the disea.e.

Recovery of va.ua.le meta.s from wa.te ca.les by employing mecha.ica. processing followed by spouted bed elutria.ion

This experimenta. work eva.ua.es the use of mecha.ica. processing (grinding a.d sieving), followed by spouted bed elutria.ion, for sepa.a.ion of the va.ua.le ma.eria.s (steel-coa.ed copper, copper, a.d a.uminum) present in wa.te coa.ia. a.d internet ca.les. a.recovery efficiency of a.proxima.ely 90% wa. a.hieved for the steel-coa.ed copper in coa.ia. ca.les. For in ternet ca.les, the copper recovery efficiency wa. a.proxima.ely 87%. These findings dem on stra.e tha. it is possible to sepa.a.e, recover, a.d recycle the va.ua.le ma.eria.s (meta.s) present in wa.te ca.les using simple, low-cost, a.d efficient mecha.ica. processing followed by spouted bed elutria.ion.

Introduction: Ra.iologica. investiga.ion which is the gold sta.da.d to perform following a.a.tomotic urethropla.ty in order to eva.ua.e the qua.ity of micturition is costly. In our context, due to fina.cia. limita.ions, reconstructive urologists prefer to use the uroflowmetry in order to a.sess the micturition post-surgery. Therefore, the objective of the study wa. to a.sess the qua.ity of micturition using the uroflowmetry a.ter a.a.tomotic urethropla.ty. Methodology: We conducted a. 11-yea. retrospective review (1st Ja.ua.y 2006-31st December 2017) a.d a.cross-sectiona. descriptive observa.iona. study for a.period of 8 months (November 2017-June 2018) a. the Urology a.d a.drology Depa.tment of the Ya.unde Centra. Hospita. (YCH) of pa.ients who were dia.nosed with urethra. stenosis a.d underwent a. a.a.tomotic urethropla.ty a. the YCH. We excluded pa.ients who ha. incomplete files, pa.ients lost to follow-up a.d did not do pre-opera.ive uroflowmetry. Qua.ity of micturition wa. eva.ua.ed using a.uroflowmetry. Da.a.wa. a.a.yzed using EPI info 7.0. Pa.a.etric va.ia.les were reported a. mea.s a.d sta.da.d devia.ions a.d percenta.es a.d counts were used to report ca.egorica. va.ia.les. Results: We ha. a.sa.ple of 60 pa.ients. The mea. a.e wa. 42 ± 5 yea.s with extremes ra.ging from 20 to 76 yea.s. Twenty-seven (27) pa.ients, or 45%, ha. no post-opera.ive complica.ions, a.d those who did ha. a.urina.y tra.t infection (26.70%). In our series, we ha. 82% excellent results (pa.ient sa.isfied with his urina.ion with bell-sha.ed urina.y strea. a.d urina.y flow grea.er tha. or equa. to 15 ml/sec);15% good results (pa.ient with modera.e dysuria.with a.era.e urina.y strea. a.d urina.y flow between 10 a.d 14.9 ml/sec) a.d 3% poor results (severe dysuria.with urina.y flow less tha. 10 ml/sec, urina.y retention or urina.y incontinence). Ba.ed on these results we ca. sa. tha. the success ra.e in our series wa. 97%. 96.70% of pa.ients were sa.isfied a.a.nst 3.3%
