Introducing strong metal–oxygen bonds to suppress the Jahn-Teller effect and enhance the structural stability of Ni/Co-free Mn-based layered oxide cathodes for potassium-ion batteries

Mn-based layered oxides（KMO） have emerged as one of the promising low-cost cathodes for potassiumion batteries（PIBs）.However,due to the multiple-phase transitions and the distortion in the MnO6structure induced by the Jahn-Teller（JT） effect associated with Mn-ion,the cathode exhibits poor structural ***,we propose a strategy to enhance structural stability by introducing robust metal-oxygen（M-O） bonds,which can realize the pinning effect to constrain the distortion in the transition metal（TM） ***,all the elements employed have exceptionally high crustal *** a proof of concept,the designed K0.5Mn0.9Mg0.025Ti0.025Al0.05O2cathode exhibited a discharge capacity of approximately 100 mA h g-1at 20 mA g-1with 79% capacity retention over 50 cycles,and 73% capacity retention over 200 cycles at 200 mA g-1,showcased much better battery performance than the designed cathode with less robust M-O *** properties of the formed M-O bonds were investigated using theoretical *** enhanced dynamics,mitigated JT effect,and improved structural stability were elucidated through the in-situ X-ray diffractometer（XRD）,in-situ electrochemical impedance spectroscopy（EIS）(and distribution of relaxation times（DRT） method),and ex-situ X-ray absorption fine structure（XAFS） *** study holds substantial reference value for the future design of costeffective Mn-based layered cathodes for PIBs.

Carbody sway behaviour of railway vehicles due to track irregularity from rail alternate side wear

Track irregularity from rail alternate side wear is manifested as uneven rail wear waveforms alternating in the left and right rails with equal intervals,which will cause carbody sway behaviour of railway vehicles and greatly influences the passenger *** this work,the carbody sway behaviour and mechanism due to track irregularity from rail alternate side wear and possible solutions to this issue were studied by the field testing and numerical calculation ***,the carbody sway of an urban rail transit train is introduced with full-scale field tests,through which the rail alternate side wear is characterized and the formatted track irregularity are ***,multibody vehicle dynamic models are developed to reproduce the carbody sway behaviour induced by the track irregularity from the rail alternate side *** creep forces acting on the wheel and rail are preliminarily discussed to study the influence of the carbody sway on the wear of the wheel flange and the rail ***,some potential solutions,*** the damping ratio of carbody rigid mode and rail grinding,are proposed to relieve this *** is concluded that an increased damping ratio of the carbody mode can alleviate the carbody sway and wheel–rail interactions,while properly maintaining track conditions can improve the vehicle performance.

MixerKT:A Knowledge Tracing Model Based on Pure MLP Architecture

In the field of intelligent education,the integration of artificial intelligence,especially deep learning technologies,has garnered significant *** tracing(KT)plays a pivotal role in this field by predicting students’future performance through the analysis of historical interaction data,thereby assisting educators in evaluating knowledgemastery and tailoring instructional *** knowledge tracingmethods,largely based on Recurrent Neural Networks(RNNs)and Transformer models,primarily focus on capturing long-term interaction patterns in sequential ***,these models may neglect crucial short-term dynamics and other relevant *** paper introduces a novel approach to knowledge tracing by leveraging a pure Multilayer Perceptron(MLP)*** proposeMixerKT,a knowledge tracing model based on theHyperMixer framework,which uniquely integrates global and localMixer feature *** architecture enables more effective extraction of both long-terminteraction trends and recent learning behaviors,addressing limitations in currentmodels thatmay overlook these key *** evaluations on twowidely-used datasets,ASSIS Tments2009 and Algebra2005,demonstrate that MixerKT consistently outperforms several state-of-the-art models,including DKT,SAKT,and Separated Self-Attentive Neural Knowledge Tracing(SAINT).Specifically,MixerKT achieves higher prediction accuracy,highlighting its effectiveness in capturing the nuances of learners’knowledge *** results indicate that our model provides a more comprehensive representation of student learning patterns,enhancing the ability to predict future performance with greater precision.

A High-Order Numerical Method Based on Legendre Polynomial Approximation for Fourth-Order Eigenvalue Problem in Cylinder Domain

In this work, an efficient spectral method is proposed to solve the fourth-order eigenvalue problem in cylinder domain. Firstly, the key point of this method is to decompose the original model into a kind of decoupled two-dimensional eigenvalue problem by cylindrical coordinate transformation and Fourier series expansion, and deduce the crucial essential pole conditions. Secondly, we define a kind of weighted Sobolev spaces, and establish a suitable variational formula and its discrete form for each two-dimensional eigenvalue problem. Furthermore, we derive the equivalent operator formulas and obtain some prior error estimates of spectral theory of compact operators. More importantly, we further obtained error estimates for approximating eigenvalues and eigenfunctions by using two newly constructed projection operators. Finally,some numerical experiments are performed to validate our theoretical results and algorithm.

Thermal-flow-electric coupling performance analysis of a liquid-immersed battery thermal management system

Ensuring the safety and performance of lithium-ion batteries(LIBs)is a significant challenge for electric *** tackle this issue,an innovative liquid-immersed battery thermal management system(LIBTMS)using bionic baffles with fish-like perforations is *** thermal-flow-electric coupling characteristics of LIBTMSs with different baffle structures(no baffle,conventional baffle,baffle with circular perforations and baffle with fish-like perforations)are systematically investigated using experimental and numerical *** results indicate that the forced flow scheme exhibits better thermal management performance and voltage equalization than static ***,the LIB temperatures and voltage deviations of different LIBTMSs increase quickly with increasing discharge *** importantly,the innovative LIBTMS exhibits the best thermoelectric performance due to its excellent thermoelectric equilibrium behavior caused by high electrical and temperature consistency,as well as the best overall performance involving the balance between the pressure loss and heat transfer capacity of the *** with other structures,the innovative LIBTMS using baffles with fish-like perforations exhibits a maximum reduction of 10.1%,15.2%,25.8%and 9.0%in LIB maximum temperature,maximum temperature difference,system pressure drop and voltage deviation,respectively,under the same operating ***,for the LIBTMS using baffles with fish-like perforations,the bottom inlet and top outlet configuration and coolant precooling are suggested to enhance cooling performance.

Impact of Assimilation of FY-4A GIIRS Three-Dimensional Horizontal Wind Observations on Typhoon Forecasts

Measurements from a hyperspectral infrared(HIR) sounder onboard a satellite in geostationary orbit not only provide atmospheric thermodynamic information,but also can be used to infer dynamic information with high temporal *** measurements from the Geostationary Interferometric Infrared Sounder(GIIRS),obtained with 15-min temporal resolution during Typhoon Maria(2018) and 30-min temporal resolution during Typhoon Lekima(2019),were used to derive three-dimensional(3D) horizontal winds by tracking the motion of atmospheric *** work focused on the impact of assimilation of 3D winds on typhoon analyses and forecasts using the operational NWP model of the China Meteorological Administration(CMA-MESO),and improved understanding of the potential benefits of assimilating dynamic information from geostationary sounder data with higher temporal *** standard deviation of the observations minus simulations revealed that the accuracy of the derived 3D winds with 15-min resolution was higher than that of derived winds with 30-min *** showed that the assimilation system can effectively absorb the information of the derived 3D winds,and that dynamic information from clear-sky areas can be transferred to typhoon *** typhoon prediction,assimilation of the derived 3D winds had greatest influence on the typhoon track,and less influence on the maximum wind *** of the derived 3D winds reduced the average track error by 17.4% for Typhoon Maria(2018) and by 3.5% for Typhoon Lekima(2019) during their entire 36-h forecasts initiated at different *** of GIIRS dynamic information can substantially improve forecasts of heavy precipitation by *** indicate that the assimilation of dynamic information from high-temporal-resolution geostationary HIR sounder data adds value for improved numerical weather prediction.

Hair coloring has emerged as an integral part of the cosmetic industry,particularly in response to the increasing global aging *** natural melanin analog,polydopamine(PDA),has garnered considerable attention as an eco-friendly hair dye,and several kinds of polymerization ways of dopamine(DA)have been proposed including alkali catalysis,metal ion catalysis,strong oxidants,and enzyme-mediated oxidation reactions and *** the controllability of polymerization and potential toxicity of involved metal ions are still in *** by the photoprotective mechanism in human skin,we have developed the melanin-inspired hair dyeing strategy that allowed for the in situ oxidative polymerization of DA under ultraviolet(UV)*** polymerization was triggered by photobase generators(PBGs),a class of compounds that produced organic bases upon UV and sunlight *** resulting hair showed an adjustable color from light brown to black by tuning the ratio of DA and PBG(DA@PBG),the concentration of DA,and light exposure *** dyed hairs showed excellent washing resistance and superior anti-static ***,Hair Color Spray DA@PBG also demonstrated a desirable hair dyeing effect and excellent biosecurity by simply spraying it on the hair under *** novel sunlight-induced method provided a new direction towards the preparation of natural hair dyes and could promote the development of green and safe hair dyes in colorful and brilliant artistic-grade hair coloring.
