The aim of.this.paper is.to inves.igate the inf.uence of.phys.cal and chemical f.ctors.on trans.ort and us. of.s.bs.rate f.r Atta s.xdens.rubropilos. workers. Three types.of.rectangular f.agments.were us.d to s.udy the phys.cal inf.uence f.ctors. f.lter paper with paraf.in, f.lter paper without paraf.in and polyes.er f.lm. To s.udy the chemical f.ctors. s.me f.agments.were impregnated with organic extract of.orange albedo, others.were s.aked with s.ybean oil and f.r the remaining ones.nothing was.applied. The f.nowing parameters.were evaluated：（i） attractivenes. of.s.bs.rate f.r trans.ort and number of.loading workers.per treatment; （ii） f.raged material incorporation; （iii） rejection by numbers.of.f.agments.depos.ted in the garbage or bes.de the f.ngus.garden. All the polyes.er f.lm f.agments.carried out to the f.ngus.garden were s.bs.quently rejected. We verif.ed that chemical f.ctors.of.the s.bs.rate were more quickly detected by the workers. whereas.phys.cal f.ctors.were us.d as.a criterion in the decis.on-making to reject or accept the s.bs.rate collected.

We s.udied the proces. of.of.s.ring production in queenles. colonies.of.Acromyrmex s.bterraneus.brunneus. and particularly evaluated the ovary development of.workers.as.a f.nction of.their age. f.r this. s.bcolonies.were s.t up and evaluated at dif.erent periods.of.is.lation f.om the queen （2, 4 and 6 months., bes.des.individually labeled age groups. The s.bcolonies.were as.es.ed according to of.s.ring production and ovaries.containing oocytes.or not. The evaluations.s.owed worker ovipos.tion and development of.males.originating f.om worker-laid eggs. At 2 months. abs.nce of.the queen, eggs.and larvae were f.und, with eggs.in a higher proportion than larvae. Af.er 4 months. the proportion of.eggs.had reduced while larvae had increas.d, and a pupa was.f.und in one s.bcolony. At 6 months. bes.des.a higher s.are of.larvae, one pupa and one adult male were f.und. Dis.ection of.workers.revealed ovaries.containing oocytes.during the periods.of.evaluation. Only a group of.medium-s.zed and large workers. 23.3%, 20.9% and 37.5% of.the population f.om each period as.es.ed in queenles. s.bcolonies.res.ectively, pres.nted developed oocytes.in the ovary. The s.me was.obs.rved in colonies.with a queen, with 17.6%, 19.6% and 7.8% of.the group of.dis.ected workers.f.om each time period, res.ectively. With res.ect to worker age, we obs.rved by dis.ection of.the ovary, that the greates. percentage of.individuals.with ovarioles.containing oocytes.occurred at 45 days.（6 weeks. up to 90 days.（12 weeks.. Thes. res.lts.probably are as.ociated with the workers.reproduction and the laying of.trophic and reproductive eggs.in colonies.with and without a queen; thes. eggs.have dis.inct f.nctions.in each s.tuation.

Coral-like s.ructures.of.the Y_(3-x)Pr_(x)f._(5-y)Yb_(y)O_(12),(0.00 ≤ x ≤ 0.04, 0.00 ≤ y ≤ 0.02) compound were s.nthes.zed us.ng the s.l-gel method. s.ructural inves.igation certif.ed the YIG cubic crys.al s.ructure f.rmation, without any s.condary phas.. It is.s.own that, the relatively large ionic radius.of.the dopant cations.res.lts.in an expans.on of.the lattice parameter, variations.in the Iona-O-Iondangle, Iona-O,Iond-O and Ionc-O bond dis.ances.and decreas. in the average crys.allite s.ze. f.urier trans.0}rm inf.ared(f.IR) and Raman meas.rements.are es.ential to tes.if. the s.ngle-phas. f.rmation of.YIG crys.al s.ructure and are obs.rved changes.in the s.retching and vibrational modes. res.ectively. The morphological s.udy, energy dis.ers.ve s.ectros.opy(EDs. s.ectra and textural properties.s.ow corallike s.ructures. peaks.as.ociated with Pr^(3+) and Yb^(3+) atoms.and the ef.ect of.dopants.on s.rf.ce area,diameter, and pore volume, res.ectively. The optical analys.s.f.om dif.us. ref.ectance s.ectra witnes.ed an increas. in the optical gap band, a decreas. in Urbach energy and blue s.if. in the charge trans.0}r,correlated with the expans.on of.the unit cell due to the dopant's.ins.rtion in the YIG s.ructure. A typical f.rrimagnetic behavior is.exhibited by the Y_(3-x)Pr_(x)f._(5-y)Yb_(y)O_(12)compound. The s.turation magnetization(M_(s.), cubic anis.tropy cons.ant(K_(1)) and coercive f.eld(H_(c)) increas. with the Pr^(3+)cations.content, as.cons.quence of.their magnetic nature and dis.ribution around of.f.^(3+)ions.due to the coexis.ence with the Yb^(3+). f.nally, f.r the f.rs. time, antibacterial tes.s.by mean of.the direct contact method were perf.rmed f.r YIG co-doped with Pr^(3+)and Yb^(3+)and it is.s.own that, relatively high dos.ges.of.Pr^(3+) cations.f.vored the activity agains. s. aureus. theref.re, a new biological property f.r YIG doped with rare earths.is.pres.nted.

A high percentage of.the world's.population lives.in areas.where air pollutant concentrations.exceed the World Health Organization *** work aims.to develop and tes.,a high-res.lution multi-s.ale air pollution modelling s.s.em by integrating a s.t of.adequate *** s.s.em is.able to provide detailed air pollutant concentrations.in urban areas.and s.pport air quality management s.rategies.through a better identif.cation of.dif.erent atmos.heric *** als. allows.f.rthering the des.gn and as.es.ment of.air pollution control meas.res.f.r a s.ecif.c *** evaluate its.perf.rmance and s.itability,the s.s.em was.applied to the Macao s.ecial Adminis.rative Region(s.R),China,one of.the mos. dens.ly populated areas.on earth,during a winter period when this.area is.af.ected by high levels.of.Particulate Matter(PM).Although the developed s.s.em tends.to underes.imate the PM concentrations.it revealed a good perf.rmance in reproducing the temporal and s.atial air pollution *** exceedances.of.the Chines. air quality s.andards.were calculated and high population expos.re to PM pollution was.*** tes.ed urban atmos.heric emis.ion reduction s.enarios.have s.own air quality improvements.indicating that emis.ion reduction meas.res.at urban level s.ould f.cus.on the domes.ic ***,it is.crucial to implement joint pollution prevention s.rategies.with neighbouring regions.to improve the air quality in Macao *** approach developed in this.work can s.pport policymakers.in def.ning new s.rategies.to reduce atmos.heric pollution in urban areas.
