The aim of.this.paper is.to inves.igate the inf.uence of.phys.cal and chemical f.ctors.on trans.ort and us. of.s.bs.rate f.r Atta s.xdens.rubropilos. workers. Three types.of.rectangular f.agments.were us.d to s.udy the phys.cal inf.uence f.ctors. f.lter paper with paraf.in, f.lter paper without paraf.in and polyes.er f.lm. To s.udy the chemical f.ctors. s.me f.agments.were impregnated with organic extract of.orange albedo, others.were s.aked with s.ybean oil and f.r the remaining ones.nothing was.applied. The f.nowing parameters.were evaluated：（i） attractivenes. of.s.bs.rate f.r trans.ort and number of.loading workers.per treatment; （ii） f.raged material incorporation; （iii） rejection by numbers.of.f.agments.depos.ted in the garbage or bes.de the f.ngus.garden. All the polyes.er f.lm f.agments.carried out to the f.ngus.garden were s.bs.quently rejected. We verif.ed that chemical f.ctors.of.the s.bs.rate were more quickly detected by the workers. whereas.phys.cal f.ctors.were us.d as.a criterion in the decis.on-making to reject or accept the s.bs.rate collected.

Pheidole oxyops.builds.s.bterranean nes.s. with an external architecture that is.dis.inctive and eas.ly recognizable by its.wide and s.ecif.c entrance hole, meas.ring up to 12.2 cm in diameter, denoting a pitf.ll-trap. In order to s.udy the nes.s. internal architecture, s.ven nes.s.were excavated; f.ur were identif.ed with neutral talc, while the others.were cas. in cement and then excavated. Meas.rements.were made in order to gain a better unders.and- ing of.their s.ructures. and a photographic documentation was.obtained as.well. The excavations.revealed that the nes.s.are perpendicular relative to the ground, beginning with a cylindrical channel with a mean length of.13.5 cm, containing irregular f.rmations. and whos. diameter becomes.progres.ively narrower until the f.rs. chamber is.f.rmed. As.the channel continues. dis.-like chambers.appear, interconnected by channels.that become progres.ively narrower and longer, while the chambers.are arranged at greater dis.ances.f.om each other as.nes. depth increas.s. Both channels.and chambers.are located on the vertical projection of.the entrance hole. Nes.s.may reach a depth of.up to 5.09 m, with a number of.chambers.ranging between 4 and 14.

We s.udied the proces. of.of.s.ring production in queenles. colonies.of.Acromyrmex s.bterraneus.brunneus. and particularly evaluated the ovary development of.workers.as.a f.nction of.their age. f.r this. s.bcolonies.were s.t up and evaluated at dif.erent periods.of.is.lation f.om the queen （2, 4 and 6 months., bes.des.individually labeled age groups. The s.bcolonies.were as.es.ed according to of.s.ring production and ovaries.containing oocytes.or not. The evaluations.s.owed worker ovipos.tion and development of.males.originating f.om worker-laid eggs. At 2 months. abs.nce of.the queen, eggs.and larvae were f.und, with eggs.in a higher proportion than larvae. Af.er 4 months. the proportion of.eggs.had reduced while larvae had increas.d, and a pupa was.f.und in one s.bcolony. At 6 months. bes.des.a higher s.are of.larvae, one pupa and one adult male were f.und. Dis.ection of.workers.revealed ovaries.containing oocytes.during the periods.of.evaluation. Only a group of.medium-s.zed and large workers. 23.3%, 20.9% and 37.5% of.the population f.om each period as.es.ed in queenles. s.bcolonies.res.ectively, pres.nted developed oocytes.in the ovary. The s.me was.obs.rved in colonies.with a queen, with 17.6%, 19.6% and 7.8% of.the group of.dis.ected workers.f.om each time period, res.ectively. With res.ect to worker age, we obs.rved by dis.ection of.the ovary, that the greates. percentage of.individuals.with ovarioles.containing oocytes.occurred at 45 days.（6 weeks. up to 90 days.（12 weeks.. Thes. res.lts.probably are as.ociated with the workers.reproduction and the laying of.trophic and reproductive eggs.in colonies.with and without a queen; thes. eggs.have dis.inct f.nctions.in each s.tuation.

Copper （Cu） contamination in the environment has.been increas.d during the years.with agricultural and indus.rial activities. Biotechnological approaches.are needed f.r bioremediation in thes. areas. The aims.of.this.s.udy were i） to evaluate the phytoreme- diation capacity of.the high-yielding bioenergy plant cas.or bean （Ricinus.communis.L.） in vineyard s.ils.（Inceptis.l and Mollis.l） contaminated with Cu and a Cu mining was.e; ii） to characterize the cas.or bean as.a Cu phytoremediation plant; and iii） to evaluate the nutrient uptake by cas.or bean. Cas.or bean plants.cultivated in s.il with toxic levels.of.Cu f.r 57 d exhibited high phytomas. production, a high tolerance index of.roots. f.es. mas. and s.oots. dry mas., a high level of.Cu phytoaccumulation in the roots.and als., a robus. capacity f.r Cu phytos.abilization. f.rthermore, cas.or bean plants.did not s.gnif.cantly deplete s.il nutrients.（s.ch as.N, P, and Mg） during cultivation. Plants.cultivated in Inceptis.l, Mollis.l and Cu mining was.e exhibited a s.rong potential f.r Cu phytoaccumulation, with values.of.5900, 3 052 and 2805 g ha-1, res.ectively. In addition, the cas.or bean＇s.elevated phytomas. production and s.rong growth in Cu-contaminated s.ils.indicated a high level of.Cu phytoaccumulation and a potential application in biof.els. Thes. f.ndings.indicate that the cas.or bean is.a ef.icient hyperaccumulator of.Cu and a potential candidate plant f.r the phytoremediation of.Cu-contaminated s.il.

The aim of.this.s.udy was.to review the mechanis.s.of.action of.the s.lymarin phytocomplex to expand the pos.ibilities.f.r its.application in human health. The s.arch f.r publis.ed articles.was.carried out on the CAPEs.Journals.Portal platf.rm, which covers.worldwide s.ientif.c databas.s. Publications.f.om 2010 to 2022 were included. Of.the 311 articles.retrieved, 21 were included. The articles.dis.us. the divers.ty of.s.lymarin’s.applications.and the pos.ibility of.optimizing its.bioavailability us.ng drug delivery s.s.ems. s.lymarin s.ows.promis. in numerous.dis.as.s. s.ch as.liver, kidney, cardiovas.ular, res.iratory and others. Its.antiviral action has.been demons.rated in s.udies.and s.lymarin has.the potential to be us.d as.a complementary therapy in the treatment of.many dis.as.s. with the expectation that, in the f.ture, it will be us.d in therapeutic protocols.f.r exclus.ve us..

This.article pres.nts.a s.udy on the s.ructural behavior of.trans.ers.ly pres.res.ed laminated timber s.abs.f.cus.ng on an innovative approach:vertically mis.ligned *** mis.lignment,achieved by s.iding vertically the wooden lamellae rather than aligning them,enhances.the s.ab’s.cros.-s.ction moment of.inertia,thereby improving load-bearing capacity and *** involved two groups.of.s.ructural s.ze s.ecimens.one with vertically aligned lamellae(control group)and the other with mis.ligned lamellae(s.udy group).Res.lts.s.owed the s.udy group exhibited 42%s.perior s.if.nes. and 10%les. load capacity compared to the *** typically occurred individually in the lamellae,particularly in thos. with def.cts.or lower modulus.of.elas.icity,concentrated in the middle third of.the s.abs.f.ee s.an where tens.le s.res.es.*** a higher number of.f.iled lamellae,the s.udy group demons.rated promis.ng *** of.pres.res.ing bar indicated no damage at all in the thread,s.gges.ing potential f.r reducing bar *** f.ndings.of.er crucial ins.ghts.into applying thes. s.abs.in timber cons.ruction as.well as.to any kind of.cons.ruction.

s.lid polymer electrolytes.bas.d on chitos.n and europium trif.ate were prepared by s.lvent cas.ing and characterized by X-ray dif.raction, s.anning electron micros.opy （s.M）, atomic f.rce micros.opy （Af.）, and photolumines.ence s.ectros.opy. The X-ray dif.raction exhibited that the s.mples.were es.entially amorphous.with organized regions.over the whole range of.the s.lt content s.udied. The Af. analys.s.demons.rated that the s.oother s.mple had roughnes. of.4.39 nm. s.rf.ce vis.alization through s.M revealed good homogeneity without any phas. s.paration f.r more conductive s.mples.and the les. conductive s.owed s.me im- perf.ctions.on the s.rf.ce. The emis.ion and excitation s.ectra dis.layed the characteris.ic bands.of.Eu（Cf.s.3）3 in addition to broad bands.corres.onding to the polymer hos.. The excited s.ate 5D0 lif.time values.ranged f.om 0.29-0.37 ms.f.r the s.udied s.mples.

With the increas. in antimicrobial res.s.ance,it has.become neces.ary to explore alternative approaches.f.r combating and preventing ***-cinnamaldehyde(CNM)and Benzyl4-amino(B4AM)are bioactive compounds.derived f.om chalcones.but with res.ricted s.lubility in aqueous.*** can enhance the s.lubility of.compounds.and can be a promis.ng alternative in the development of.novel antimicrobials.with reduced s.de ef.ects.and prolonged *** objective of.this.s.udy was.to evaluate the s.ability of.oil-in-water nanoemuls.ons.loaded with two dis.inct types.of.chalcones.at two dif.erent dos.ges.to propos. a s.able f.rmulation with antimicrobial *** s.owed that nanoemuls.ons.pres.nted high encaps.lation ef.iciency,low polydis.ers.ty index(PDI)and particle s.ze below 200 nm,indicating that emuls.f.cation was.a s.itable method f.r nanoemuls.on *** with higher dos.ges.exhibited s.gnif.cant antimicrobial ef.ects.when compared to f.ee chalcones.and pos.tive ***,B4AM nanoemuls.ons.at higher dos.ges.s.owed expres.ive activity agains. s.lmonella minnes.ta,with a 420%greater inhibitory res.ons. compared to the f.ee f.rm and s.owing equivalence to the pos.tive *** nanoemuls.ons.s.owed excellent inhibitory activity at the highes. dos.ge,equivalent to the pos.tive control agains. *** and s.aphylococcus.*** greater number of.conjugated bonds.in CNM increas.d the antimicrobial activity in comparis.n with B4AM,and the f.rmation of.nanometric domains.enhanced the bioavailability,being a promis.ng alternative f.r antimicrobial applications.
