Optimizing water management practice to increase potato yield and water use efficiency in North China

Potato is one of the staple food crops in North ***,potato production in this region is threatened by the low amount and high spatial-temporal variation of *** yield and water use efficiency(WUE)of potato by various water management practices under water resource limitation is of great importance for ensuring food security in ***,the contributions of different water management practices to yield and WUE of potato have been rarely investigated across North China’s potato planting *** on meta-analysis of field experiments from the literature and model simulation,this study quantified the potential yields of potatoes without water and fertilizer limitation,and yield under irrigated and rainfed conditions,and the corresponding WUEs across four potato planting regions including the Da Hinggan Mountains(DH),the Foothills of Yanshan hilly(YH),the North foot of the Yinshan Mountains(YM),and the Loess Plateau(LP)in North *** average potential potato tuber dry weight yield by the APSIM-Potato Model was 12.4 t ha^(–1)for the YH region,11.4 t ha^(–1)for the YM region,11.2 t ha^(–1)for the DH region,and 10.7 t ha^(–1)for the LP region,*** rainfed potato tuber dry weight yield accounted for 61,30,28 and 24%of the potential yield in the DH,YH,YM,and LP *** maximum WUE of 2.2 kg m^(–3)in the YH region,2.1 kg m^(–3)in the DH region,1.9 kg m^(–3)in the YM region and 1.9 kg m^(–3)in the LP region was achieved under the potential yield ***-furrow planting could boost yield by 8–49%and WUE by 2–36%while ridge-furrow planting with film mulching could boost yield by 35–89%and WUE by 7–57%across North *** study demonstrates that there is a large potential to increase yield and WUE simultaneously by combining ridge-furrow planting with film mulching and supplemental irrigation in different potato planting regions with limited water resources.

Objective:To investigate the prevale nee and spectrum of complementary and alternative medicine(CAM)application and its related-factors in Parkinson's disease(PD)patients in ***:A structured questionnaire regarding the use of CAMs was administered to PD patients by face-to-face *** and social variables,clinical characteristics and treatments,and the related factors of PD were also ***:Ninety out of 113 patients(79.6%)reported that they had received CAMs treatment,of which 48.6%(55/113)patients had received CAMs treatment for *** top 3 kinds of CAMs for PD were Chinese materia medica,rehabilitation exercise,and acupuncture *** source of information regarding CAMs treatment mainly came from relatives and friends(51.8%,73 cases),followed by physicians(31.9%,45 cases),and medias such as television,newspapers or the internet(16.3%,28 cases).Fifty percent of CAM users reported a good therapeutic efficacy,whereas 39% patients reported that they felt neither better nor worse after the treatment,while 11% patients claimed worsening of *** correspondence analyses survey found the main factors affecting the selectivity of CAMs ranked in the following order:in come,education,occupati on,habitati on,age at on set,Hoeh n and Yahr staging,PD durati on,and gen ***:CAMs,especially Chin ese materia medica,rehabilitation exercise,and acupuncture,are widely used for PD patients in China.

The lithium(li) metal anode is an integral component in an emerging high-energy-density rechargeable battery.A composite li anode with a three-dimensional(3 D) host exhibits unique advantages in suppressing li dendrites and maintaining dimensional ***,the fundamental understanding and regulation of solid electrolyte interphase(SEI),which directly dictates the behavior of li plating/stripping,are rarely researched in composite li metal ***,the interaction between a polar polymer host and solvent molecules was proposed as an emerging but effective strategy to enable a stable SEI and a uniform li deposition in a working *** carbonate molecules in electrolytes are enriched in the vicinity of a polar polyacrylonitrile(pan) host due to a strong dipole-dipole interaction,resulting in a liF-rich SEI on li metal to improve the uniformity of li deposition.A composite li anode with a pan host delivers 145 cycles compared with 90 cycles when a non-polar host is ***,60 cycles are demonstrated in a 1:0 Ah pouch cell without external *** work provides a fresh guidance for designing practical composite li anodes by unraveling the vital role of the synergy between a 3 D host and solvent molecules for regulating a robust SEI.

In December 2019, a new type viral pneumonia cases occurred in Wuhan, Hubei Province;and then named "2019 novel coronavirus(2019-nCoV)" by the World Health Organization(WHO) on 12 January 2020. For it is a never been experienced respiratory disease before and with infection ability widely and quickly, it attracted the world’s attention but without treatment and control manual. For the request from frontline clinicians and public health professionals of 2019-nCoV infected pneumonia management, an evidence-based guideline urgently needs to be developed. Therefore, we drafted this guideline according to the rapid advice guidelines methodology and general rules of WHO guideline development;we also added the first-hand management data of Zhongnan Hospital of Wuhan University. This guideline includes the guideline methodology, epidemiological characteristics, disease screening and population prevention, diagnosis, treatment and control(including traditional Chinese Medicine), nosocomial infection prevention and control, and disease nursing of the 2019-nCoV. Moreover, we also provide a whole process of a successful treatment case of the severe 2019-nCoV infected pneumonia and experience and lessons of hospital rescue for 2019-nCoV infections. This rapid advice guideline is suitable for the first frontline doctors and nurses, managers of hospitals and healthcare sections, community residents, public health persons, relevant researchers, and all person who are interested in the 2019-nCoV.

Wearable electronics integrated with stretchable sensors are considered a promising and non-invasive strategy to monitor respiratory status for health ***,long-term and stable monitoring of respiratory abnormality is still a grand ***,we report a facile one-step thermal stretching strategy to fabricate an anti-fatigue ionic gel(AIG)sensor with high fatigue threshold(0=1130 J m^(–2)),high stability(>20,000 cycles),high linear sensitivity,and recyclability.A multimodal wearable respiratory monitoring system(WRMS)developed with AIG sensors can continuously measure respiratory abnormality(single-sensor mode)and compliance(multi-sensor mode)by monitoring the movement of the ribcage and abdomen in a long-term *** single-sensor mode,the respiratory frequency(Fr),respiratory energy(Er),and inspire/expire time(I/E ratio)can be extracted to evaluate the respiratory status during sitting,sporting,and ***,the multi-sensors mode is developed to evaluate patientventilator asynchrony through validated clinical criteria by monitoring the incongruous movement of the chest and abdomen,which shows great potential for both daily home care and clinical applications.
