Effect of Carbon and Nitrogen Availability on Metabolism of Amino Acids in Germinating Spores of Arbuscular Mycorrhizal Fungi

The effects of carbon （C） and nitrogen （N） sources on N utilization and biosynthesis of amino acids were examined in the germinating spores of the arbuscular mycorrhizal （AM） fungus Glomus intraradices Schenck ＆ Smith after exposure to various N substrates, CO2, glucose, and/or root exudates. The N uptake and de novo biosynthesis of amino acids were analyzed using stable isotopic labeling with mass spectrometric detection. High-performance liquid chromatography-based analysis was used to measure amino acid levels. In the absence of exogenous N sources and in the presence of 25 mL L^-1 CO2, the germinating AM fungal spores utilized internal N storage as well as C skeletons derived from the degradation of storage lipids to biosynthesize the free amino acids, in which serine and glycine were produced predominantly. The concentrations of internal amino acids increased gradually as the germination time increased from 0 to 1 or 2 weeks. However, asparagine and glutamine declined to the low levels; both degraded to provide the biosynthesis of other amino acids with C and N donors. The availability of exogenous inorganic N （ammonium and nitrate） and organic N （urea, arginine, and glutamine） to the AM fungal spores using only CO2 for germination generated more than 5 times more internal free amino acids than those in the absence of exogenous N. A supply of exogenous nitrate to the AM fungal spores with only CO2 gave rise to more than 10 times more asparagine than that without exogenous N. In contrast, the extra supply of exogenous glucose to the AM fungal spores generated a significant enhancement in the uptake of exogenous N sources, with more than 3 times more free amino acids being produced than those supplied with only exogenous CO2. Meanwhile, arginine was the most abundant free amino acid produced and it was incorporated into the proteins of AM funsal spores to serve as an N storage compound.

Background:The type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM)pharmacodynamic study of various parts of Schisandra sphenanthera was conducted in the previous stage,and it was found that dichloromethane extracted part(SDP)had a significant hypoglycemic ***,the components of SDP were analyzed,and the specific mechanism of its anti-T2DM was ***:We used a high-fat,high-sugar diet in combination with streptozotocin to induce a T2DM rat model,and the model rats were divided into two groups according to body weight and blood ***,oral glucose tolerance test,fasting blood glucose,low density lipoprotein cholesterol,superoxide dismutase,insulin,glycated hemoglobin,total cholesterol,nonesterified free fatty acids,alanine aminotransferase,high-density lipoprotein cholesterol,aspartate aminotransferase,malondialdehyde,and glutathione peroxidase were measured,organ indices were calculated,and pathological sections of pancreas and liver were *** 16S rRNA V3–V4 region of intestinal flora was sequenced to explore the effect of SDP on biochemical indicators and intestinal *** on the above indicators,the anti-T2DM mechanism of SDP in Schisandra sphenanthera was ***:After six weeks of administration,the biochemical indices of diabetic rats were diminished compared to the control *** SDP could significantly increase the gut microbialα-diversity index,resulting in significant changes in the flora of T2DM rats,with increased richness and diversity,reduced harmful flora,and significantly back-regulated the levels of acetic acid,propionic acid,and butyric ***:SDP can improve the symptoms associated with elevated blood glucose,dyslipidemia,elevated fasting insulin levels,and damaged glucose tolerance in *** against T2DM may be through the control of intestinal flora to normalize and exert anti-diabetic effect;its main active components may be lignans and terpenoids.

A mathematical model was established to predict the carbon content of ultralow carbon steel in the ruhrstahl-Heraeus （RH） process. The model was solved using the fourth-order runge-Kutta method and assumed that the volume of steel partaking in the reaction depends on the decarburization mechanism. After analyzing the decarburization process using the proposed model, the following conclusions were drawn. First, the initial carbon and oxygen contents in the RH degasser should be stabilized in the range of （200-350） × 10^-6 and （500-700） × 10^-6, respectively. Second, in the initial stage, the pressure should be reduced as quickly as possible. Third, oxygen blowing should begin as early as possible when the forced decarburization is needed and the minimum oxygen flow rate should be 0.1923 m3/（t rain）. Finally, expanding the diameter of the snorkel tube from 480 to 600 mm clearly enhances the decarburization rate.

Effects of AlMnCa and AlMnFe Alloys on Deoxidization of Low Carbon and Low Silicon-Aluminum Killed Steels

To confirm the effects of AlMnCa and AlMnFe alloys on the deoxidization and modification of Al2O3 inclusions, experiments of 4-heat low carbon and low silicon aluminum killed steels deoxidized by AlMnCa and AlMnFe alloys were done in a MoSi2 furnace at 1 873 K. It is found that the 1^# AlMnCa alloy has the best ability of deoxidization and modification of Al2O3 inclusions than 2^# AlMnCa and AlMnFe alloys. Steel A deoxidized by 1^# AlMnCa alloy has the lowest total oxygen content in the terminal steel, which is 37× 10^-6. Most of the inclusions in the steel deoxidized by 1^# AlMnCa alloy are spherical CaO-eontaining compound inclusions, and 89.1% of them are smatter than 10 μm. The diameter of the inclusion bigger than 50 μm is not found in the final steels deoxidized by AlMnCa alloys. Whereas, for the steels deoxidized by AlMnFe alloys, most inclusions in the terminal steel are Al2O3 or Al2O3-MnO inclusions, and a few of them are spherical, and only 76.8% of them are smaller than 10 μm. Some in- clusions bigger than 50μm are found in the steel D deoxidized by AlMnFe alloy.

Self-healing elastomer modified proppants for proppant flowback control in hydraulic fracturing

To address proppant flowback issues during post-fracturing treatments and production,self-healing elastomer modified proppants(SMPs)are *** to their inherent self-aggregation behavior,the SMPs can aggregate together spontaneously to prevent proppant flowback and increase the pack *** is noteworthy that the SMPs have a firm and dry self-healing elastomer(SE)coating,making their storage,transport and use as conventional proppants *** SE synthesized through polymerization is rich in amidogens and carbonyl groups as characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and the proton nuclear magnetic *** and thermomechanical properties of the SE coating are revealed by the thermogravimetric analysis,the differential scanning calorimetry and the rheological *** self-aggregation behavior of the SMPs is demonstrated by the adhesion force *** reversible hydrogen bonding interactions in SE coating contribute to the self-aggregation behavior of the SMPs,which is revealed by the thixotropy test and the FTIR analysis at different *** the self-aggregation behavior,the crushed proppants can aggregate in situ to form a stable structure again and therefore reduce the threat of narrowing down the fracture and proppant flowback,which has an important practical significance during oil and gas production.

Effect of Cooling Rate on Microstructure and Mechanical Properties of Sand-Casted ***-0.6Mn-0.25Ce Alloy

This study examines the relationship among cooling rate,microstructure and mechanical properties of a sand-casted Al-5.0 Mg-0.6 Mn-0.25 Ce(wt%)alloy subjected to T4 heat treatment(430℃×12 h+natural aging for 5 days),and the tested alloys with wall thickness varying from 5 to 50 mm were *** results show that as the cooling rate increases from0.22 to 7.65 K/s,the average secondary dendritic arm spacing(SDAS,λ2)decreases from 94.8 to 27.3μ*** relation between SDAS and cooling rate can be expressed by an equation:λ2=53.0 ***,an increase in cooling rate was shown not only to reduce the amount of the secondary phases,but also to promote the transition from Al10 Mn2 Ce toα-Al24(Mn,Fe)6Si2 *** tests show that as the cooling rate increases from 0.22 to 7.65 K/s,the ultimate tensile strength(UTS)increases from 146.3 to 241.0 MPa and the elongation(EL)increases sharply from 4.4 to 12.2%for the ascast *** of UTS and EL with SDAS were determined,and both the UTS and EL increase linearly with(1/λ2)0.5and that these changes can be explained by strengthening *** eutectic Al3Mg2 phases were dissolved during T4 treatment,which in turn further improve the YS,UTS and ***,the increment percent of YS,UTS and EL is affected by the cooling rate.

Chromium Recycling from Argon-oxygen Decarburization Dust in Hot Metal Pre-dephosphorization Process

The chromium recycling from the stainless steel dust of an argon-oxygen decarburization （AOD） furnace during a hot metal pretreatment process was investigated. Experiments at different temperatures or with different amounts of AOD dusts were carried out in a laboratory furnace equipped with MoSi2 heating elements and subsequently industrial experiments were conducted in a stainless steelmaking factory, in order to study the thermodynamic mechanism of C and Si reacted with Cr2O3 to get Cr from AOD dust. The results showed that the reaction between C and Cr2 O1 occurred below 1572.18 K. Although its reducing ability was weaker than that of Si, C enabled the Cr in Cr2O3 in the AOD dust to be recycled using the Si in the slag. By combining the AOD dust added in an earlier stage, the hot metal pretreatment slag added in a later stage could not only recycle Cr from AOD dust but also remove Si, S, and P. Higher hot metal temperatures resulted in higher Cr content and lower remained P concentration in the molten iron.

Interchange between grooming and infant handling in female Tibetan macaques(Macaca thibetana)

In some non-human primates, infants function as a social tool that can bridge relationships among group members. Infants are a desired commodity for group members, and mothers control access to them. The biological market theory suggests that grooming is widespread and represents a commodity that can be exchanged for infant handling. As a limited resource, however, the extent to which infants are interchanged between mothers(females with an infant) and non-mothers(potential handlers,females without an infant) remains unclear. In this study, we collected behavioral data to investigate the relationship between grooming and infant handling in free-ranging Tibetan macaques(Macaca thibetana)at Mt. huangshan, China. Our results showed that females with infants received more grooming than females without infants. After her infant was handled,mother females received more grooming than they did during daily grooming interactions. However, with the increasing number of infants within the social group, both the grooming that mothers received and the grooming that non-mothers invested for handling infants decreased. We also found that non-mothers invested more time in grooming to gain access to younger infants than older infants. Our results provide evidence that infants are social commodities for both mother and non-mother females. Mothers use infants for obtain grooming and non-mothers use grooming to gain access to infants. The current study implies a bidirectional and complex interchange pattern between grooming and infant handling to compensate for the dyadic grooming disparity in non-human primates.

二维MXene材料是一种新型的功能性材料,其在热电领域具有潜在应用价值.本文采用第一性原理计算方法,通过求解声子和电子的玻尔兹曼输运方程,计算研究了MXene Hf_(2)CF_(2)单层的热传输特征和热电性质.声子谱揭示了Hf_(2)CF_(2)单层具有热力学稳定性.在室温条件下,Hf_(2)CF_(2)单层的晶格热导率为14.25 Wm^(-1)K^(-1),且随着温度的升高而降低;电子热导率却随着温度和掺杂浓度的增加而升高.电输运性质中,电导率和Seebeck系数随载流子浓度的变化相反,确保能够获得优异的热电性能.在600 K条件下,n型MXene Hf_(2)CF_(2)单层的最大功率因子可以达到61.24 mW/(mK^(2)).载流子迁移率具有较高的各向异性,且电子的迁移率远远高于空穴的迁移率.基于热导及电导计算结果,n型MXene Hf_(2)CF_(2)单层沿x轴方向的热电优值可达到1.75,高于其他已报道的类似结构的热电优值,表明了MXene Hf_(2)CF_(2)单层是一种潜在的高性能n型热电材料.
