Study of the effects on GPS coordinate time series caused by higher-order ionospheric corrections calculated using the DIPOLE model

As one of the main error sources in high-precision Global Positioning System （GPS） data processing, higher-order ionospheric （HOI） delays cause significant effects on coordinate time series that cannot be ignored in analyses of long time series. Typically two geomagnetic models, DIPOLE model and Inter- national Geomagnetic Reference Field （IGRF） model, are used for calculating HOI corrections. This paper investigates the effects of HOI correction caused by the DIPOLE model on coordinate time series. GPS data from 104 globally distributed International GNSS Service （IGS） stations spanning from January, 1999 to December, 2003 were reprocessed following up-to-date processing strategies utilizing GAMIT and GLOBK software. Two coordinate time series solutions before and after applying HOI corrections using the DIPOLE model were derived for studying the effects in terms of seasonal variations and noise amplitudes. The results show that after applying the HOI corrections calculated with DIPOLE, the noise amplitudes of the coordinate time series increased, especially in the north and east directions, and the increased amplitudes of the flicker noise were larger than those of the white noise. Furthermore, spurious periodic signals that were probably introduced by the HOI corrections from the DIPOLE model were also found. Moreover, an apparent increase was confirmed for the power spectra of most of the stations, especially in the north direction, and the amplitudes of both the annual and semi-annual signals also increased in the north and east directions. It can be inferred that the quality of the external data sources such as the geomagnetic model might be the key factors that lead to the above results. The results also suggest that we should be very careful when the DIPOLE model is used for HOI corrections.

Investigation of Lushan earthquake ionosphere VTEC anomalies based on GPS data

Vertical total electron content （VTEC） time series were obtained from 22 GPS stations near the epicenter of the Lushan earthquake. In this paper, we have adopted a sliding average method to detect and analyze anomalous VTEC associated with the earthquake. The results show that signif- icant, negative ionosphere VTEC anomalies appeared over the 5 days before the earthquake, and on the day when earthquake occurred. The maximum value of VTEC anoma- lies that exceeded the lower bound reached 20 TECU. The spatial distribution of VTEC anomalies showed a conjugate structure, which shifted to the magnetic equator, and subse- quently moved westwards.

g-C_(3)N_(4)emerges as a promising metal-free semiconductor photocatalyst due to its cost-effectiveness,facile synthesis,suitable visible light response,and robust thermal ***,its practical application in photocatalytic hydrogen evolution reaction(HER)is impeded by rapid carrier recombination and limited light absorption *** this study,we successfully develop a novel g-C_(3)N_(4)-based step-scheme(S-scheme)heterojunction comprising two-dimensional(2D)sulfur-doped g-C_(3)N_(4)nanosheets(SCN)and one-dimensional(1D)FeCo_(2)O_(4)nanorods(FeCo_(2)O_(4)),demonstrating enhanced photocatalytic HER *** engineered SCN/FeCo_(2)O_(4)S-scheme heterojunction features a well-defined 2D/1D heterogeneous interface facilitating directed interfacial electron transfer from FeCo_(2)O_(4)to SCN,driven by the lower Fermi level of SCN compared to FeCo_(2)O_(4).This establishment of electron-interacting 2D/1D S-scheme heterojunction not only facilitates the separation and migration of photogenerated carriers,but also enhances visible-light absorption and mitigates electron-hole pair *** structure analysis and density functional theory calculations corroborate that the carrier migration in the SCN/FeCo_(2)O_(4)photocatalyst adheres to a typical S-scheme heterojunction mechanism,effectively retaining highly reactive photogenerated ***,the optimized SCN/FeCo_(2)O_(4)heterojunction exhibits a substantially high hydrogen production rate of 6303.5μmol·g^(-1)·h^(-1)under visible light excitation,which is 2.4 times higher than that of the ***,the conjecture of the S-scheme mechanism is confirmed by in situ XPS *** 2D/1D S-scheme heterojunction established in this study provides valuable insights into the development of high-efficiency carbon-based catalysts for diverse energy conversion and storage applications.

Precise orbit determination for GRACE with zero-difference kinematic method

Thanks to the high performance of the spaceborne GPS receiver and the availability of precise IGS orbit and clock products,zero-difference kinematic precise orbit determination(POD) has been turned out to be a new effective method in orbit determination for the LEO ***-difference kinematic POD,which is based on the GPS measurements only from the spaceborne GPS receiver,does not depend on the force models and orbit *** this point of view,kinematic POD is suitable for the Earth observation satellites at very low altitudes,such as CHAMP,GRACE and GOCE,*** paper first reviews the basic zero-difference GPS observation *** a modified data quality control scheme is put ***,a block-wise least squares algorithm,which first separates the parameters into several groups and then solves the parameters by elimination and back-substitution,is discussed and proposed for the kinematic orbit *** the above algorithms,we developed kinematic POD software to solve the orbit suitable for one-week GRACE *** with the published Rapid Science Orbit(RSO) indicate that,using our approach to determine the orbit,the accuracy in the radial direction can achieve 3―4 cm for GRACE-A,and 3―5 cm for GRACE-B.

Ocean Loading Tides Corrections of GPS Stations in Antarctica

This paper describes the ocean loading tides corrections of GPS stations in Antarctica, such as the Great Wall station and Zhongshan station. Based on the theory of ocean loading tides, the displacement corrections of ocean loading tides on GPS stations in Antarctica are calculated by using the CRS4.0 ocean loading tides model. These corrections are also applied to GPS data proc-essing. The GPS data are analyzed by the GAMIT software with and without these corrections. We compared and analyzed the GPS baseline components to get the differences. The results show that the ocean tidal displacement corrections have obvious effects upon GPS baseline components. Therefore, we should not ignore the ocean loading tides corrections of GPS stations in Antarctica to obtain precise and reliable results.

Post-collisional extensional and thrust-nappe structures in northern part of Dabie Mountains

Thrust-nappe structures and extensional struc-tures simultaneously occur in the northern part of the Dabie Mountains. The systematic structural study reveals that extensional structures along the Mozitan-Xiaotian fault and thrust-nappe structures that take the Jinzhai-Shucheng fault as their frontal thrust share the same shear sense, and display a transitional relationship from the ductile exten- sional structure of deep level in the south to the ductile-brit- tle and brittle thrust-nappe structure of shallow level in the north. The extensional and thrust-nappe structures in the region are explained to result from post-collisional processes by the continuous subduction of the Yangtze continental block and the extension induced by the uplifting of the core part of the Dabie Mountains, which are components of the extensional structures produced in the exhumation process of the ultrahigh pressure metamorphic rocks in the Dabie Mountains. Because of the frontal blocking in the process of the north-westward spreading, the extension and detachment of the low-grade metamorphic rocks along the Mozi-tan-Xiaotian fault was transformed into the northwestward thrusting, resulting in the thrust-nappe structures. They de-veloped in the period of 200 170 Ma, maybe last till the late Jurassic.

As one of the Analysis Centers(AC)of the International GNSS Service(IGS),Wuhan University(WHU)has been contributing to the IGS by providing ultra-rapid as well as rapid orbit and clock solutions for the established GPS and GLONASS since *** the same year,the IGS initiated the Multi-GNSS Experiment(MGEX)to support the analysis of the emerging GNSS systems and prepare the IGS for Multi-GNSS,which includes GPS,GLONASS,the European Galileo system,the Chinese Beidou Navigation Satellite System(BDS),the Japanese Quasi-Zenith Satellite System(QZSS)and the Indian Regional Navigation Satellite System(IRNSS/NaVIC).The major products,i.e.,orbits,Earth Orientation Parameters(EOPs),satellite clock as well as attitude have also been provided by WHU since *** recently,WHU has engaged the third reprocessing of IGS for generating the highly accurate station coordinates as inputs for establishment of the International Terrestrial Reference Frame(ITRF)2020 during 2019—*** article presents the recent major advancements of the IGS AC at Wuhan University,including precise products,real-time products,bias products,antenna phase center calibration,and the non-linear motion modeling for GNSS Reference Stations.
