Cohort study on the treatment of BRAF V600E mutant metastatic colorectal cancer with integrated Chinese and western medicine

BACKGROUND patients with BRAF V600E mutant metastatic colorectal cancer(mCRC)have a low incidence rate,poor biological activity,suboptimal response to conventional treatments,and a poor *** the previous cohort study on mCRC conducted by our team,it was observed that integrated Chinese and Western medicine treatment could significantly prolong the overall survival(OS)of patients with colorectal ***,we further explored the survival benefits in the population with BRAF V600E mutant *** To evaluate the efficacy of integrated Chinese and Western medicine in the treatment of BRAF V600E mutant metastatic colorectal *** A cohort study was conducted on patients with BRAF V600E mutant metastatic colorectal cancer admitted to Xiyuan Hospital of China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences and Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region from January 2016 to December *** patients were divided into two *** A total of 34 cases were included,with 23 in Chinese-Western medicine cohort(cohort A)and 11 in Western medicine cohort(cohort B).The median overall survival was 19.9 months in cohort A and 14.2 months in cohort B,with a statistically significant difference(p=0.038,hazard ratio=0.46).The 1-3-year survival rates were 95.65%(22/23),39.13%(9/23),and 26.09%(6/23)in cohort A,and 63.64%(7/11),18.18%(2/11),and 9.09%(1/11)in cohort B,*** analysis showed statistically significant differences in median OS between the two cohorts in the right colon,liver metastasis,chemotherapy,and first-line treatment subgroups(pprolong the survival and reduce the risk of death in patients with BRAF V600E mutant metastatic colorectal cancer,with more pronounced benefits observed in patients with right colon involvement,liver metastasis,combined chemotherapy,and first-line treatment.

In this paper,we consider Ricci flow on four dimensional closed manifold with bounded scalar curvature,noncollasp.ng volume and bounded *** such conditions,we can show that the manifold has finitely many diffeomorphism types,which generalizes Cheeger–Naber’s result to bounded scalar curvature along Ricci *** particular,this implies the manifold has uniform L^(2) Riemann curvature *** an application,we point out that four dimensional Ricci flow would not have uniform scalar curvature upper bound if the initial metric only satisfying lower Ricci curvature bound,lower volume bound and upper diameter bound.

Comparison of Responses to Mn Deficiency Between the UK Wheat Genotypes Maris Butler, paragon and the Australian Wheat Genotype C8MM

Wheat grown in Mn-deficient soil has been widely observed to produce much reduced yields. Breeding for Mn-efficient wheat genotypes adapted to Mn-deficient soils would represent a long-term solution for wheat agronomy. To characterize the physiological basis of Mn efficiency in wheat genotypes would facilitate the breeding programs for producing Mn-efficient wheat. Using a solution culture and a soil culture system in the present study, a Mn-efficient UK wheat genotype Maris Butler and a Mn-inefficient UK wheat genotype paragon have been compared with a Mn-efficient Australian wheat genotype C8MM in the responses to Mn deficiency in order to characterize the Mn efficiency in these wheat genotypes. Results showed that in solution culture, Marls Butler grown under Mn deficiency had 77% relative dry matter yield of control plants that were grown under Mn sufficiency, whereas CSMM and paragon had 60% and 58% relative dry matter yield of their respective controls. Results from the soil culture demonstrated that relative dry matter yield remained high for Maris Butler and C8MM （53% and 56%, respectively）, whereas the value for paragon dropped to 33%. In terms of dry matter yield and photosynthetic efficiency, Maris Butler demonstrated Mn efficiency in both solution culture and soil culture, whereas C8MM showed Mn efficiency only in soil culture. Results also demonstrated that under Mn-depleted supply in soil, plants of C8MM had a significantly higher ability in Mn uptake, whereas plants of Marls Butler showed a higher internal Mn use efficiency in comparison with plants of paragon. Results from the present study indicate that the ability of C8MM to accumulate higher amounts of Mn is the basis of the improved Mn efficiency of this genotype in comparison with paragon, and in Marls Butler there is a higher internal use of Mn expressed as an improved photosynthetic efficiency in conferring its Mn efficiency. Experimental investigation of laser surface processing of flexure silicon nitride ceramic

A continuous wave carbon dioxide (CO2) laser (λ=10.6μm) was employed to treat the surface of Si3N4 MOR (modulus of rupture) bars. The effects of the CO2 laser process on physical and mechanical properties of ground Si3N4 samples were investigated. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) analysis shows that the area occupied by cavities and fracture is decreased by about 49.4% after laser treatments. Cross-sectional metallography results indicate that the secondary YSiAlON phase in the Si3N4 ceramic is softened/melted and flowed into the defects. Four-point bending tests show that the flexural strength of the treated samples is improved to 10.9%. Fractographic analysis show that the fracture origins move from the surface to subsurface. It is concluded that laser surface processing have significant effects on fracture behavior of flexure Si3N4 ceramic.

A Data Deduplication Framework of Disk Images with Adaptive Block Skipp.ng

We describe an efficient and easily applicable data deduplication framework with heuristic prediction based adaptive block skipp.ng for the real-world dataset such as disk images to save deduplication related overheads and improve deduplication throughput with good deduplication efficiency maintained. Under the framework, deduplication operations are skipped for data chunks determined as likely non-duplicates via heuristic prediction, in conjunction with a hit and matching extension process for duplication identification within skipped blocks and a hysteresis mechanism based hash indexing process to update the hash indices for the re-encountered skipped chunks. For performance evaluation, the proposed framework was integrated and implemented in the existing data domain and sparse indexing deduplication algorithms. The experimental results based on a real-world dataset of 1.0 TB disk images showed that the deduplication related overheads were significantly reduced with adaptive block skipp.ng, leading to a 30%-80% improvement in deduplication throughput when deduplieation mctadata were stored on the disk for data domain, and 25%-40% RAM space saving with a 15%-20% improvement in deduplication throughput when an in-RAM sparse index was used in sparse indexing. In both cases, the corresponding deduplication ratios reduced were below 5%.
