Predictive value of total cholesterol to high-density lipoprotein cholesterol ratio for chronic kidney disease among adult male and female in Northwest China

Background: Studies have found that the ratio of total cholesterol to high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (TC/HDL-C) was associated with the development of chronic kidney disease (CKD). However, the relationship in different genders was rarely discussed. The aim of this study was to explore this relationship and assess its predictive power for both males and ***: Based on a prospective cohort platform in northwest China, 32,351 participants without CKD were collected in the baseline and followed up for approximately 5 years. Cox proportional hazard model and restricted cubic spline regression analysis were performed to investigate the association between TC, HDL-C, TC/HDL-C and CKD in adult female and male. The clinical application value of the indicators in predicting CKD was evaluated by the receiver operator characteristic ***: During a mean follow-up of 2.2 years, 484 males and 164 females developed CKD. After adjusted for relevant confounders, for every one standard deviation increase in TC, HDL-C and TC/HDL-C, the hazard ratios (HRs) and 95% confidence intervals (95% CIs) for CKD were 1.17 (1.05-1.31), 0.84 (0.71-0.99), and 1.15 (1.06-1.25) for males, 0.94 (0.78-1.13), 0.58 (0.35-0.95), and 1.19 (1.01-1.40) for females, respectively. The results also showed that TC, HDL-C, and TC/HDL-C were associated with CKD in a linear dose-response relationship. The TC/HDL-C had the largest area under the curve (AUC) compared to TC and HDL-C, and the AUC among the females was larger than that among ***: The TC/HDL-C was significantly associated with CKD in adult males and females and has better clinical value in predicting CKD than TC and HDL-C, especially in females.

We have investigated the distribution of the electric field in p-i-n type and separate absorption and multiplication(SAM) type GaN avalanche photodiodes under different reverse bias *** have also analyzed the influences of the parameters of each layer,including width and concentration,on the distribution of the electric field,especially on the breakdown *** is found that a relatively high concentration of p-GaN(higher than 1×10 18 cm 3) and low carrier concentration of i-GaN(lower than 5×10 16 cm 3) are helpful to restrict the electric field and reduce the breakdown *** a SAM(p-i-n-i-n) structure,a suitable choice should be made for the concentration and thickness of the intermediate n-GaN layer in order to decrease breakdown voltage and prevent the device from degenerating into a p-i-n ***,the optimized material parameters of each layer are proposed.

A method to calculate the reflectivity of the coated cavity facet was proposed, and the distribution of the optical power near the two coated cavity facets was calculated for GaN-based laser diodes. A new design method for reducing the optical power at the two cavity facets without changing the output power of laser diodes was discussed, which is helpful to optimize the cavity facet coating and raise the threshold current at which catastrophic optical damage occurs.

-The tectonic types of the Zhujiang (Pearl) River Mouth Basin in the South China Sea are epicontinental rift-depression basins. Prior to Early Cretaceous time, the Dongsha Uplift arid its surrounding depressions had been combined with the Eurasia Plate in a single unit. Many ENE-trending narrow rifted basins were formed in the third episode of Yanshan orogeny (Late Laramide). The rifted basins in the Paleocene and Eocene were stretched and extended, forming Zhu 1, Zhu 2 and Zhu 3 depressions. The Dongsha Uplift is located between Zhu 1 and Zhu 2 depressions . covering an area of 28 000 Km2. Its geologic evolution can be divided into four stages:(1) Late Cretaceous - Paleocene block-faulting stage.(2) Eocene -Oligocene uplifting and eroding stage.(3) Late Oligocene - Early Miocene sustained subsiding stage.(4) Middle Miocene -Recent noncompensated subsiding *** Dongsha Uplift is a structural zone favourable for oil-gas accumulation.

High frequency pulsating voltage injection method is a good candidate for detecting the initial rotor position of permanent magnet synchronous ***,traditional methods require a large number of filters,which leads to the deterioration of system stability and dynamic *** order to solve these problems,a new signal demodulation method is proposed in this *** proposed new method can directly obtain the amplitude of high-frequency current,thus eliminating the use of filters,improving system stability and dynamic performance and saving the work of adjusting filter *** addition,a new magnetic polarity detection method is proposed,which is robust to current measurement ***,experiments verify the effectiveness of the method.

Understanding the structural stability of nanomaterials such as nanowires is imperative for their practical ***,using single-shot ultrafast transmission electron microscopy,we captured the Plateau-Rayleigh instability behavior of silver nanowires decomposing into silver nanoparticles upon laser irradiation on nanosecond time *** found that this dynamic process can be accelerated by a factor of 10 through increasing the peak laser fluence from 6.03 to 14.60 mJ/cm^(2).Moreover,by comparing the laser fluence required to initiate the Plateau-Rayleigh instability in silver nanowires on carbon and Formvar membranes,it was found that the main driving force for the Plateau-Rayleigh instability in this study was substrate *** element analysis and molecular dynamics simulations are also applied to estimate the temperature jump of the nanowires and atomistic behavior,*** addition,the complex motions of silver nanowires under laser irradiation were systematically investigated by combining the results of ultrafast transmission electron microscopy with scanning electron microscopy characterizations and were determined to be related to nanowire-membrane interactions or pre-existing stresses on the nanowires,which in turn demonstrated the potential of ultrafast transmission electron microscopy for the characterization of nanomaterials and devices under extreme conditions.
