Temperature-re s ponsive resistance transition behaviors of the melamine sponges wrapped with different graphene oxide derivatives(***,wide-ribbon and sheet)were *** sponge composites coated by three types of GO derivatives were prepared by a simple dip-coating *** these composites show good mechanical flexibility and reliability(almost unchanged compressive stress at 70%strain after 100 cycles),high hydrophobicity(water contact angle>120°),excellent flame resistance(self-extinguishing)and structural stability even after burning,which was used to construct the resistance-based fire alarm/warning ***,the different resistance response behaviors of such sensors are strongly dependent on the GO size and network formed on the MF skeleton ***,at a fixed high temperature of~350℃,the three fire alarm sensors show different response time(to trigger the alarm light)of 6.3,8.4 and 11.1 s for nanoribbon,wide-ribbon and sheet at the same concentration,*** structural observation and chemical analysis demonstrated that the discrepancy of temperature-responsive resistance transition behaviors of various GO derivatives was strongly determined by their different thermal reduction degrees during the high-tempe rature or flame treating *** work offers a design and development for construction of smart fire alarm device for potential fire prevention and safety applications.

Scutellarin(SCU), a flavonoid from a traditional Chinese medicinal plant. Our previous study has demonstrated that SCU relaxes mouse aortic arteries mainly in an endothelium-depend-ent manner. In the present study, we investigated the vasoprotective effects of SCU against HR-induced endothelial dysfunction(ED) in isolated rat CA and the possible mechanisms involving cyclic guanosine monophosphate(c GMP) dependent protein kinase(PKG). The isolated endothelium-intact and endothelium-denuded rat CA rings were treated with HR injury. Evaluation of endothelium-dependent and-independent vasodilation relaxation of the CA rings were performed using wire myography and the protein expressions were assayed by Western blotting. SCU(10–1 000 μmol·L-1) could relax the endothelium-intact CA rings but not endothelium-denuded ones. In the intact CA rings, the PKG inhibitor, Rp-8-Br-c GMPS(PKGI-rp, 4 μmol·L-1), significantly blocked SCU(10–1 000 μmol·L-1)-induced relaxation. The NO synthase(NOS) inhibitor, NO-nitro-L-arginine methylester(L-NAME, 100 μmol·L-1), did not significantly change the effects of SCU(10–1 000 μmol·L-1). HR treatment significantly impaired ACh-induced relaxation, which was reversed by pre-incubation with SCU(500 μmol·L-1), while HR treatment did not altered NTG-induced vasodilation. PKGI-rp(4 μmol·L-1) blocked the protective effects of SCU in HR-treated CA rings. Additionally, HR treatment reduced phosphorylated vasodilator-stimulated phosphoprotein(p-VASP,phosphorylated product of PKG), which was reversed by SCU pre-incubation, suggesting that SCU activated PKG phosphorylation against HR injury. SCU induces CA vasodilation in an endothelium-dependent manner to and repairs HR-induced impairment via activation of PKG signaling pathway.

Glutathione peroxidase（GPX） is a sclenoenzyme that protects the biomembrane and other cellular components against oxidative damage. The selenium-containing single chain Fv fragment of monoelonal antibody 2173 （Se scFv2F3） is a kind of GPX mimic and it has a wide clinical applications because of its high activity and low antigenicity. Se-seFv2F3 is generated by the chemical modification of the single chain Fv fragment of monoelonal antibody 2F3 （ scFv2F3 ）, which can be expressed in E. coll. In this article, the effect of chemical chaperones, such as glycerol, glucose, and β-cyclodextrin added to the culture medium, on the expression of soluble scFv2F3 was investigated. The expression level was evaluated by the determination of soluble scFv2F3 contents in the whole cell lysates. The results suggest that both glycerol and β-cyclodextrin greatly increase the expression level of soluble scFv2F3, and β-cyclodextrin is found to be more effective compared with glycerol. Glucose has a slight effect on the expression level of soluble scFv2F3. This is the first example, wherein β-cyclodextrin has been used as a chemical chaperone during the cell culture to improve the expression level of recombinant proteins. In addition, chemical chaperones are found to decrease the toxic effect of IPTG on cells.

We experimentally observe that Si micro-ring modulator（MRM） modulation characteristics are strongly influenced by the modulation data rate and the data pattern and determine this influence is due to the temperature increase caused by dynamic power dissipation within the Si MRM device. We also quantitatively determine the amount of Si MRM resonance wavelength shift due to different modulation data rates, data patterns, and modulation voltages. Our results should be of great help for achieving reliable and optimal modulation characteristics for Si MRMs.

Locomotion in mollusc Aplysia is implemented by a pedal rolling wave,a type of axial ***-studied examples of axial locomotion(pedal waves in Drosophila larvae and body waves in leech,lamprey,and fish)are generated in a segmented nervous system via activation of multiple coupled central pattern generators(CPGs).Pedal waves in molluscs,however,are generated by a single pedal ganglion,and it is unknown whether there are single or multiple CPGs that generate rhythmic activity and phase shifts between different body *** locomotion in intact Aplysia,bursting activity in the parapedal commissural nerve(PPCN)was found to occur during tail contraction.A cluster of 20 to 30 P1 root neurons(P1Ns)on the ventral surface of the pedal ganglion,active during the pedal wave,were *** cluster analysis revealed that there are 2 phases to the motor program:phase I(centered around 168°)and phase II(centered around 357°).PPCN activity occurs during phase *** majority of P1Ns are *** P1Ns tend to be electrically *** classes of pedal interneurons(PIs)were *** 1(PI1 and PI2)is active during phase *** axons make a loop within the pedal ganglion and contribute to locomotor pattern *** are electrically coupled to P1Ns that fire during phase *** 2(PI3)is active during phase II and innervates the contralateral pedal ***3 may contribute to bilateral ***,our findings support the idea that Aplysia pedal waves are generated by a single CPG.

The species of aquatic beetles and their distributions in lotic and lentic habitats were investigated during July to August of 2005 and 2006 in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, China. A total of 66 species belonging to 7 beetle families （Dytiscidae, Gyrinidae, Haliplidae, Helophoridae, Noteridae, Hydraenidae, Hydrophilidae） are recorded, of which 16 are new records of aquatic beetles for China.
