Development and validation of a model integrating clinical and coronary lesion-based functional assessment for longterm risk prediction in PCI patients

OBJECTIVES To establish a scoring system combining the ACEF score and the quantitative blood flow ratio(QFR) to improve the long-term risk prediction of patients undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention(PCI).METHODS In this population-based cohort study, a total of 46 features, including patient clinical and coronary lesion characteristics, were assessed for analysis through machine learning models. The ACEF-QFR scoring system was developed using 1263consecutive cases of CAD patients after PCI in PANDA Ⅲ trial database. The newly developed score was then validated on the other remaining 542 patients in the cohort.RESULTS In both the Random Forest Model and the Deep Surv Model, age, renal function(creatinine), cardiac function(LVEF)and post-PCI coronary physiological index(QFR) were identified and confirmed to be significant predictive factors for 2-year adverse cardiac events. The ACEF-QFR score was constructed based on the developmental dataset and computed as age(years)/EF(%) + 1(if creatinine ≥ 2.0 mg/d L) + 1(if post-PCI QFR ≤ 0.92). The performance of the ACEF-QFR scoring system was preliminarily evaluated in the developmental dataset, and then further explored in the validation dataset. The ACEF-QFR score showed superior discrimination(C-statistic = 0.651;95% CI: 0.611-0.691, P < 0.05 versus post-PCI physiological index and other commonly used risk scores) and excellent calibration(Hosmer–Lemeshow χ^(2)= 7.070;P = 0.529) for predicting 2-year patient-oriented composite endpoint(POCE). The good prognostic value of the ACEF-QFR score was further validated by multivariable Cox regression and Kaplan–Meier analysis(adjusted HR = 1.89;95% CI: 1.18–3.04;log-rank P < 0.01) after stratified the patients into high-risk group and low-risk group.CONCLUSIONS An improved scoring system combining clinical and coronary lesion-based functional variables(ACEF-QFR)was developed, and its ability for prognostic prediction in patients with PCI was further validated to be significantly better than the post-PCI physiological

Seismic migration and inversion are closely related techniques to portray subsurface images and identify hydrocarbon reservoirs.Seismic migration aims at obtaining structural images of subsurface geologic discontinuities.More specifically,seismic migration estimates the reflectivity function(stacked average reflectivity or pre-stack angle-dependent reflectivity)from seismic reflection data.On the other hand,seismic inversion quantitatively estimates the intrinsic rock properties of subsurface formulations.Such seismic inversion methods are applicable to detect hydrocarbon reservoirs that may exhibit lateral variations in the inverted parameters.Although there exist many differences,pre-stack seismic migration is similar with the first iteration of the general linearized seismic inversion.Usually,seismic migration and inversion techniques assume an acoustic or isotropic elastic medium.Unconventional reservoirs such as shale and tight sand formation have notable anisotropic property.We present a linearized waveform inversion(LWI)scheme for weakly anisotropic elastic media with vertical transversely isotropic(VTI)symmetry.It is based on two-way anisotropic elastic wave equation and simultaneously inverts for the localized perturbations(ΔVp_(0)/Vp_(0)/Vs_(0)/Vs_(0)/,Δ∈,Δδ)from the long-wavelength reference model.Our proposed VTI-elastic LWI is an iterative method that requires a forward and an adjoint operator acting on vectors in each iteration.We derive the forward Born approximation operator by perturbation theory and adjoint operator via adjoint-state method.The inversion has improved the quality of the images and reduces the multi-parameter crosstalk comparing with the adjoint-based images.We have observed that the multi-parameter crosstalk problem is more prominent in the inversion images for Thomsen anisotropy parameters.Especially,the Thomsen parameter is the most difficult to resolve.We also analyze the multi-parameter crosstalk using scattering radiation patterns.The linearized waveform inversion for VTI-el

Lithium-sulfur(Li-S) batteries have attracted much attention and developed rapidly in recent years due to their high energy density,low cost,and environment-friendly.However,its commercialization process still encounters various obstacles.Among them,the sulfur cathode is easy to dissolve and shuttle,resulting in the loss of active substances and the severe growth of lithium anode dendrites,which is one of the biggest obstacles.Improving the redox conversion kinetics of sulfur cathode is expected to fundamentally alleviate the shuttle phenomenon of poly sulfides.Therefore,this paper reviews the effects of metal nanoparticles to metal nanoclusters to metal single-atom catalysts on improving the redox of Li-S batteries,to let researchers better understand the size effect on the kinetics of sulfur cathodes in Li-S batteries,which will provide important guidance for the future large-scale commercialization of Li-S batteries.

Transition-metal oxyhydroxides are attractive catalysts for oxygen evolution reactions(OERs).Further studies for developing transition-metal oxyhydroxide catalysts and understanding their catalytic mechanisms will benefit their quick transition to the next catalysts.Herein,Mo-doped CoOOH was designed as a high-performance model electrocatalyst with durability for 20 h at 10 mAcm−2.Additionally,it had an overpotential of 260 mV(glassy carbon)or 215 mV(nickel foam),which was 78 mV lower than that of IrO_(2)(338 mV).In situ,Raman spectroscopy revealed the transformation process of CoOOH.Calculations using the density functional theory showed that during OER,doped Mo increased the spin-up density of states and shrank the spin-down bandgap of the 3d orbits in the reconstructed CoOOH under the electrochemical activation process,which simultaneously optimized the adsorption and electron conduction of oxygen-related intermediates on Co sites and lowered the OER overpotentials.Our research provides new insights into the methodical planning of the creation of transition-metal oxyhydroxide OER catalysts.

A deep learning model based on contrast-enhanced computed tomography for differential diagnosis of gallbladder carcinoma

Background:Gallbladder carcinoma(GBC)is highly malignant,and its early diagnosis remains difficult.This study aimed to develop a deep learning model based on contrast-enhanced computed tomography(CT)images to assist radiologists in identifying GBC.Methods:We retrospectively enrolled 278 patients with gallbladder lesions(>10 mm)who underwent contrast-enhanced CT and cholecystectomy and divided them into the training(n=194)and validation(n=84)datasets.The deep learning model was developed based on ResNet50 network.Radiomics and clinical models were built based on support vector machine(SVM)method.We comprehensively compared the performance of deep learning,radiomics,clinical models,and three radiologists.Results:Three radiomics features including LoG_3.0 gray-level size zone matrix zone variance,HHL firstorder kurtosis,and LHL gray-level co-occurrence matrix dependence variance were significantly different between benign gallbladder lesions and GBC,and were selected for developing radiomics model.Multivariate regression analysis revealed that age≥65 years[odds ratios(OR)=4.4,95%confidence interval(CI):2.1-9.1,P37 U/mL(OR=4.0,95%CI:1.6-10.0,P=0.003)were significant clinical risk factors of GBC.The deep learning model achieved the area under the receiver operating characteristic curve(AUC)values of 0.864(95%CI:0.814-0.915)and 0.857(95%CI:0.773-0.942)in the training and validation datasets,which were comparable with radiomics,clinical models and three radiologists.The sensitivity of deep learning model was the highest both in the training[90%(95%CI:82%-96%)]and validation[85%(95%CI:68%-95%)]datasets.Conclusions:The deep learning model may be a useful tool for radiologists to distinguish between GBC and benign gallbladder lesions.

Coal is one of the world’s main energy resources,accounting for approximately 68%of China’s current total power generation.However,several studies have demonstrated that dust,exhaust fumes,and other harmful factors in coal mines increase the risk of cardiovascular disease(CVD)among miners^([1]).Arterial stiffness(AS)is an independent risk factor of CVD,and epidemiological studies have shown that AS plays a vital role in assessing the risk of CVD^([2]).

Podostemaceae(riverweed family),one of the largest aquatic plant families in the world,comprises about 350 species in 51 genera placed in three subfamilies,Podostemoideae,Weddellinoideae,and Tristichoideae(Koi et al.,2022).Most Podostemaceae genera(~38)are monotypic or oligotypic,with a high level of endemism(Koi et al.,2018,2022).Members of Podostemaceae adhere to rocks in fast-flowing rivers,streams,or waterfalls in the subtropics and tropics(Koi et al.,2018).As an adaptation to fastrunning currents,the morphological structure of river-weeds tends to be extremely reduced,including a loss or reduction of primary shoots or roots(Koi and Kato,2007).The vegetative mass of these plants resembles lichens or bryophytes,and are thus known commonly as“dream bryophytes”(Philbrick and Retana,1998).Podostemaceae plants flower when the water level drops during the dry season.In recent years,anthropogenic factors and climate change have severely affected river weed habitats,decreasing populations of these plants.

Tumor-associated inflammation is an important component of the tumor microenvironment,and an important factor affecting tumor progression.In the tumor microenvironment,tumor-associated macrophages(TAMs)receive different stimuli and can be polarized into classically activated M1 macrophages and alternatively activated M2 macrophages.Many studies have indicated that the polarization of TAMs is closely related to tumor progression.

An electron-transfer[Fe_(2)Co_(2)]square complex exhibiting unprecedented wide room-temperature hysteresis

Switchable molecules with magnetic bistability that can function at standard conditions are highly desirable from the perspective of practical applications.Over the last decade,significant progress has been made in modulating thermally induced electrontransfer-coupled spin transition(ETCST)events between diamagnetic{Fe_(LS)^(Ⅱ)(μ-CN)Co_(LS)^(Ⅲ)}and paramagnetic{Fe_(LS)^(Ⅲ)(μ-CN)-Co_(HS)^(Ⅱ)}electron configurations(named LS and HS,respectively,for short)within the Fe/Co mixed-valence cyanometallate complexes.Herein,we prepared a novel[Fe_(2)Co_(2)]square complex[(pzTp)Fe(CN)_(3)Co(bnbpen)]_(2)[NO_(3)]_(2)·4CH_(3)OH·2.5H_(2)O(1·Solv)and its desolvated phase[(pzTp)Fe(CN)_(3)Co(bnbpen)]_(2)[NO_(3)]_(2)(1),obtained via single-crystal-to-single-crystal(SCSC)transformation.Complex 1·Solv remaining in the diamagnetic state below room temperature exhibits an irreversible ETCST behavior accompanied by desolvation upon heating.Notably,complex 1 displays an unprecedented rate-dependent ETCST behaviour involving with two diamagnetic LS states(a dynamically favoured LS1 state and a thermodynamically favoured LS2state),between which a net one-way transition from LS1 to LS2 is accessible likely via a structural phase transition(SPT)above255 K.Consequently,two well separated transition channels(HS?LS1 at around 255 K and HS←→LS2 in the temperature range of 317-350 K)are achieved according to either fast(>20 K/min)or slow rate(<1 K/min),respectively.At a moderate rate of 3 K/min,complex 1 shows a wide hysteresis of 66 K centered at 328 K,the largest yet reported for discrete Fe/Co cyanometallate complexes.Complex 1 represents the first ETCST example coupled with dynamic SPT,providing a new strategy for manipulating bistability within this fascinating cyanometallate family.
