Many atomic descriptors are currently limited by their unfavourable scaling with the number of chemical elements S *** length of body-ordered descriptors,such as the SOAP power spectrum(3-body)and the(AcE)(multiple body-orders),scales as(NS)^(ν)whereν+1 is the body-order and N is the number of radial basis functions used in the density *** introduce two distinct approaches which can be used to overcome this scaling for the SOAP power ***,we show that the power spectrum is amenable to lossless compression with respect to both S and N,so that the descriptor length can be reduced from O(N^(2)S^(2))to O(NS).Secondly,we introduce a generalised SOAP kernel,where compression is achieved through the use of the total,element agnostic density,in combination with radial *** ideas used in the generalised kernel are equally applicably to any other body-ordered descriptors and we demonstrate this for the(AcSF).

Tonstein layers are found worldwide in the Permo-carboniferous coal-bearing *** study investigates the geochronology,mineralogy,and geochemistry of four tonstein samples from the Permo-carboniferous Benxi Formation,Ordos Basin,North china craton(Ncc).The typical features of the studied tonsteins include thin beds,lateral continuity,angular quartz grains,and euhedral zircons with similar U-Pb ages,indicating a significant pyroclastic *** addition,the tonstein samples have low TiO_(2)/Al_(2)O_(3)ratios(concentrations with obvious negative Eu anomalies,indicating that the tonsteins have a felsic magma ***,compared with the mean composition of clay shale,the studied tonsteins are characterized by high concentrations of the elements Nb and Ta,which may affect the concentration of the corresponding elements in surrounding coal *** zircon U-Pb ages of the tonsteins(293.9-298.8 Ma)provide a precise chronological framework on the Benxi Formation in the Ordos Basin,constraining the Gzhelian-Aselian *** tonsteins were probably sourced from arc volcanism along the western margin of the Ncc during the early Permian,implying that the Alxa Terrane had not amalgamated with the Ncc at that time.

The discovery of Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome-coronavirus-2 (SARS-coV-2) in Wuhan, Hubei province, china, in December 2019 raised global health warnings. Quickly, in 2020, the virus crossed borders and infected individuals across the world, evolving into the cOVID-19 pandemic. Notably, early signs of the virus’s existence were observed in various countries before the initial outbreak in Wuhan. As of 12th of April, the respiratory disease had infected over 762 million people worldwide, with over 6.8 million deaths recorded. This has led scientists to focus their efforts on understanding the virus to develop effective means to diagnose, treat, prevent, and control this pandemic. One of the areas of focus is the isolation of this virus, which plays a crucial role in understanding the viral dynamics in the laboratory. In this study, we report the isolation and detection of locally circulating SARS-coV-2 in Kenya. The isolates were cultured on Vero cercopithecus cell line (ccL-81) cells, RNA extraction was conducted from the supernatants, and reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PcR). Genome sequencing was done to profile the strains phylogenetically and identify novel and previously reported mutations. Vero ccL-81 cells were able to support the growth of SARS-coV-2 in vitro, and mutations were detected from the two isolates sequenced (001 and 002). Genome sequencing revealed the circulation of two isolates that share a close relationship with the Benin isolate with the D614G common mutation identified along the S protein. These virus isolates will be expanded and made available to the Kenya Ministry of Health and other research institutions to advance SARS-coV-2 research in Kenya and the region.

文中用同步辐射光源对聚乙醇酸(PGA)挤出棒材的切片进行广角X射线散射(WAXS)和小角X射线散射(SAXS)表征,研究聚乙醇酸棒材在挤出成型后优选的退火条件,以尽可能消除内应力,改善棒材后续的机械加工性。WAXS结果表明,高温更有利于微观应变的减小,但较高温时晶粒尺寸会随退火时间的延长而减小。SAXS结果表明,高温更有利于取向程度的减小,退火时间对取向程度的影响明显弱于退火温度。综合各数据建立目标函数,并利用响应面分析法进行分析。结果表明,在实验范围内,PGA棒材的优选退火条件为200℃退火2h。

The lithium-ion battery(LIB)has enabled portable energy storage,yet increasing societal demands have moti-vated a new generation of more advanced *** the discovery and optimization of battery active ma-terials has been the subject of extensive study since the 1980s,the most disruptive advancements of commercial LIBs in the past decade stem instead from overall cell design and *** pursuit of higher energy density and fast-charging capability,strategies focused on tuning the properties of composite electrode architectures(e.g.,porosity,conductivity,tortuosity,spatial heterogeneity)by restructuring the inactive component matrix of LIB electrode films have recently garnered *** perspective explores recent advances in electrode design through an applied lens,emphasizing synthetic platforms and future research directions that are scalable,commercially feasible,and applicable to a wide range of active *** introduce and critically assess recently proposed strategies for structuring electrode architectures,including spatial gradients of local compo-sition and microstructure;metal-foil current collector alternatives;and electrode templating techniques,evalu-ating both achievements in battery performance and commercial *** with improved active materials,new electrode architectures hold promise to unlock next generation LIBs.

Metabolic flexibility has emerged as a critical determinant of cD8+T-cell antitumor activity,yet the mechanisms driving the metabolic flexibility of T cells have not been *** this study,we investigated the influence of the nuclear cap-binding complex(cBc)adaptor protein ARS2 on mature T *** doing so,we discovered a novel signaling axis that endows activated cD8+T cells with flexibility of glucose ***2 upregulation driven by cD28 signaling reinforced splicing factor recruitment to pre-mRNAs and affected approximately one-third of T-cell activation-induced alternative splicing *** these effects,the cD28-ARS2 axis suppressed the expression of the M1 isoform of pyruvate kinase in favor of PKM2,a key determinant of cD8+T-cell glucose utilization,interferon gamma production,and antitumor effector ***,PKM alternative splicing occurred independently of cD28-driven PI3K pathway activation,revealing a novel means by which costimulation reprograms glucose metabolism in cD8+T cells.

The cenozoic-age Makum coal from northeastern India offers numerous research opportunities because of its diverse geochemical and geological *** to its high sulfur content,the coal has been found to be less useful for industrial *** can,however,serve as a hub for ongoing research on coal-based derivative *** aim of this research work is to investigate the mineralogical and geochemical compositions of the coal,mine overburden(MOB)and shale samples taken from the Makum coal field and also on establishing a mutual relationship between *** characterize the geochemical controlling factors of the Makum coal field,the study employs coal petrography,FTIR,mineralogical,and geochemical *** to X-ray diffraction analysis,the major minerals like quartz,kaolinite,haematite,illite,pyrite,and calcite are present in coal and *** is observed by SEM-EDS analysis as cubic-shaped particles that are smaller than a fewμm in *** presence of sulfide minerals represents a phase of pyrite *** petrography study was used to better understand the environment that existed during the formation of the plant material,which aids us in determining the quantity of detrital mineral sediment contained in the *** to the IcP-MS analysis,the samples indicate significant levels of rare earth elements including *** present study reveals higher concentrations of poten-tial hazardous elements in the coal samples,with V,cr,Ni,cu,and Zn content in coal being considerably enriched compared to world-average *** correlation analysis reveals that the potential hazardous elements like co,Ni,As,and cu are associated with pyrite as they have strong affinity towards ***,numerous minerals and rare earth elements(REEs)exist,opening up a fresh avenue for more research in the *** study also assists researchers in understanding the significance of Makum coal and provides numerous ideas for coal charac
