Objective:To describe the prognostic and clinical profile of hospitalized patients with chikungunya virus(CHIKV)infection focusing on renal ***:This is a cross-sectional study including all patients with confirmed chikungunya fever(CHIKF)admitted to 3 different highcomplexity hospitals in Fortaleza,Brazil between january 2016 and june *** analysis was carried out to evaluate correlation between clinical profile and ***:Fifty-five patients were included,with a median age of 77(IQR=21)years,and 23(41.82%)were ***-five patients(45.45%,25/55)developed acute kidney injury(AKI),and 15(60.00%,15/25)were classified as KDIGO 1,1(4.00%)as KDIGO 2,and 9(36.00%)as KDIGO *** overall mortality was 34.54%whilst AKI-related mortality was 64.00%(16/25).Both AKI and encephalitis were associated with higher *** who died were significantly older[82(IQR=12)years vs.70(IQR=28.75)years,P<0.001].In the multivariate analysis,abdominal pain was associated with an increased risk of severe AKI(OR=5.33,95%CI=1.11–25.64,P=0.037)and AKI was an independent risk factor of death(OR=12.06,95%CI=2.55–57.15,P=0.002).Recovery of renal function was similar among the different age ***:AKI is present in half of the study population and is an independent risk factor of ***,renal function should be carefully monitored in hospitalized patients with CHIKV infection.

Introduction: The perioperative nurse plays an important role throughout the surgical period, especially in the context of predicting the risks to which patients are exposed when entering a surgical center. These can be skin, muscle, tendon, and even burn injuries from the scalpel or chemicals. Objective: The aim of this study was to verify the degree of risk for the development of injuries resulting from surgical positioning in patients of a university hospital. Methods: This is cross-sectional, exploratory research with a quantitative approach conducted with 70 surgical patients in a Municipal University Hospital with data collection through a socioeconomic and health questionnaire and the Risk Assessment Scale for Development of Surgical Positioning Injuries (SISP). Statistical analyses included simple descriptive evaluation, correlations of variables using the Chi-square test and Pearson’s coefficient with a significance level of 5%. Results: The results found pointed to a population mainly composed of women (60%), married, with an average age of 49 years, with hypertension and high-risk scores to develop injuries due to surgical positioning. There was also a positive and significant correlation between having hypertension and having a higher risk of developing lesions, with R2 = 96.4% and p Conclusion: The results reinforce the need to implement protocols and the acquisition of materials aimed at reducing the risk of injuries related to surgical positioning in order to improve the quality of care offered and thus minimize the harm to users.

The lipid composition in terms of the amount of neutral lipids, free fatty acids and polar lipid content is of great importance to make full use possible of this fraction and to define the suitability of its application, either as a raw material for fuel production, nutraceutical purposes or feed. In addition to the fatty components present in the lipid extract, other components may be included, such as: carotenoids, pigments and sterols. The microalgae studied in this work, Scenedesmus sp. and Desmodesmus sp., were subjected to the same growth conditions and evaluated for lipid content, quantification and diversity of lipid components as well as its fatty acid profile. For lipid determination two extraction methods were compared: the J: Schmid-Bondzynski-Ratzlaff and Bligh & Dyer method. For Desmodesmus sp. 5.43% ± 0.41% and 9.18% ± 0.33% of lipids were obtained on an ash-free dry weight basis and for Scenedesmus sp. 12.46% ± 0.38% and 8.16% ± 0.42% of lipids were obtained on an ash-free dry weight basis using for both methods J:

The climatic niche is a central concept for understanding species distribution,with current and past climate interpreted as strong drivers of present and historical-geographical *** aim is to understand whether Atlantic Forest snakes follow the general geographical pattern of increasing species climatic niche breadths with increasing *** also tested if there is a tradeoff between temperature and precipitation niche breadths of species in order to understand if species with larger breadths of one niche dimension have stronger dispersal constraints by the other due to narrower niche *** breadths were calculated by the subtraction of maximal and minimal values of temperature and precipitation across species *** implemented Phylogenetic Generalized Least Squares to measure the relationship between temperature and precipitation niche breadths and *** also tested phylogenetic signals by Lambda statistics to analyze the degree of phylogenetic niche conservatism to both niche *** niche breadths were not related to *** niche breadths decreased with increasing latitude and presented a high phylogenetic signal,that is,significant phylogenetic niche *** rejected the tradeoff hypotheses of temperature and precipitation niche *** results also indicate that precipitation should be an important ecological constraint affecting the geographical distribution of snake lineages across the South American Atlantic *** then provide a general view of how phylogenetic niche conservatism could impact the patterns of latitudinal variation of climatic niches across this biodiversity hotspot.

Gestational trophoblastic neoplasia(GTN) is a rare tumor that originates from pregnancy that includes invasive mole, choriocarcinoma(CCA), placental site trophoblastic tumor and epithelioid trophoblastic tumor(PSTT/ETT). GTN presents different degrees of proliferation, invasion and dissemination, but, if treated in reference centers, has high cure rates, even in multi-metastatic *** diagnosis of GTN following a hydatidiform molar pregnancy is made according to the International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics(FIGO)2000 criteria: four or more plateaued human chorionic gonadotropin(hCG)concentrations over three weeks; rise in hCG for three consecutive weekly measurements over at least a period of 2 weeks or more; and an elevated but falling hCG concentrations six or more months after molar evacuation. However,the latter reason for treatment is no longer used by many centers. In addition,GTN is diagnosed with a pathological diagnosis of CCA or PSTT/ETT. For staging after a molar pregnancy, FIGO recommends pelvic-transvaginal Doppler ultrasound and chest X-ray. In cases of pulmonary metastases with more than 1cm, the screening should be complemented with chest computed tomography and brain magnetic resonance image. Single agent chemotherapy, usually Methotrexate(MTX) or Actinomycin-D(Act-D), can cure about 70% of patients with FIGO/World Health Organization(WHO) prognosis risk score ≤ 6(low risk), reserving multiple agent chemotherapy, such as EMA/CO(Etoposide,MTX, Act-D, Cyclophosphamide and Oncovin) for cases with FIGO/WHO prognosis risk score ≥ 7(high risk) that is often metastatic. Best overall cure rates for low and high risk disease is close to 100% and > 95%, respectively. The management of PSTT/ETT differs and cure rates tend to be a bit lower. The early diagnosis of this disease and the appropriate treatment avoid maternal death,allow the healing and maintenance of the reproductive potential of these women.

Al-Mg based alloys have special attention due to the lightness of the material and certain mechanical properties and reciclability. Normally classified as non-heat-treatable these alloys obtain higher strength either by strain-hardening or by solid solution. The P/M process in the Al-Mg-Zr alloys in study leading to fine grain structure after the thermal treatment. The understanding of the observed phenomena depends of the fact that materials produced by powder metallurgy present complex interface reactions in a great amount of nucleation sites and a subtle change in the structure of the material causes an important variation in your properties. Alloys in study presented interesting values of properties, with evident technological potential.

The Rio de la Plata region comprises central Argentina,Uruguay,and southern *** agriculture developed around 1900 with recent decades being characterized by the advance of cropping areas over native *** specialized agriculture has decoupled crop and livestock production but has succeeded in intensifying ***,significant losses of ecosystem services have been ***,questions have been raised on the sustainability of this pathway.A glance at world regions that have experienced similar trends suggests that an urgent course correction is needed.A major concern has been the lack of diversity in regions with highly specialized agriculture,promoting renewed interest in integrated crop-livestock systems(ICLS),not only because ICLS are more diverse than specialized systems,but also because they are rare examples of reconciliation between agroecosystem intensification and environmental ***,this paper discusses alternatives to redesign multifunctional landscapes based on *** data provide evidence that recoupling crop and animal production increases the resilience of nutrient cycling functions and economic indicators to external stressors,enabling these systems to face climate-market uncertainty and reconcile food production with the provision of diverse ecosystem ***,these concepts are exemplified in case studies where this perspective has been successfully applied.

Many plants pollinated by nectar-foraging animals have to maintain a balance between legitimate visitor attraction strategies and mechanisms that minimize illegitimate *** study investigated how floral display and neighboring species composition influences nectar robbing by hummingbirds in the tropical ornithophilous herb Heliconia *** tested the role of inflorescence display,flower abundance,and neighboring species in the reduction of nectar robbing in *** results indicate that nectar robbing hummingbird activity was higher in moderately large inflorescence displays and that the frequency of nectar robbing in *** decreases with increased flower abundance and the presence of neighboring plant *** non-ornithophilous plants decreased the frequency of nectar robbing in *** flowers to a greater extent than ornithophilous *** results suggest that nectar robbing hummingbirds are attracted to similar conditions that attract legitimate visitors and that spatial aggregation and mixed-species displays may represent a mechanism to dilute nectar robbing effects at an individual level.
