Venom toxins are widely spread in nature, adopting diverse structures and functions. They often function by blocking or modulating important membrane protein targets thus can be promising therapeutic candidates and biophysical probes. In this review, we briefly discuss the total chemical synthesis of venom toxins including the different refolding strategies reported during the past decade as well as innovative approaches for structure determination.

Pump controlled hydraulic actuators are wildly used in the aerospace industry owing to the advantages of energy-saving and integrated *** loads may occur to actuators due to external force loads or the inertial force when the actuator decelerates *** negative load working conditions may cause cavitation,actuator vibration,and even instability to the motion control if the actuator is without sufficient meter-out *** types of hydraulic configuration schemes have been proposed to deal with negative loads of hydraulic ***,few of them can simultaneously achieve energy saving and high control *** study proposes an energy-saving and accurate motion tracking strategy for a hydraulic actuator with uncertain negative *** actuator’s motion is driven by a servomotor pump,which gives full play to the advantage of *** meter-out pressure is controlled by proportional valves to provide the optimized meter-out *** nonlinear adaptive robust control law is designed,which guarantees the control stability and achieve high tracking *** integrated direct/indirect adaptation law obtains satisfactory parameter estimations and model compensation for asymptotic motion *** experiments under different working conditions were performed to validate the advantages of the proposed control strategy.

Spinal muscular atrophy(SMA)is a genetic condition that results in selective lower motor neuron loss with concomitant muscle weakness and *** genetic cause of SMA was understood in 1995 when loss or impairment of the survival motor neuron 1(SMN1)gene was identified as the main contributing factor(Lefebvre et al.,1995).This,in combination with the discovery that humans have a“back-up”gene,SMN2,which can produce low levels(approximately 10%)of the full-length functional SMN protein,has led to the generation of SMA-specific gene *** was traditionally classified according to age of symptom onset and developmental milestones achieved,with life expectancy and severity varying between ***,SMN2 copy number is used as a proxy for the prediction of disease severity,with higher SMN2 copy number typically being associated with reduced severity of SMA,although this relationship is not absolute:some individuals with low SMN2 copy number have less severe SMA phenotypes and vice ***,the etiology of SMA is further complicated by other factors,such as non-typical nucleotide variants and SMN2-independent modifiers of disease severity.

In men, obesity and metabolic complications are associated with lower serum testosterone （T） and dihydrotestosterone （DHT） and an increased risk of, and mortality from, multiple chronic diseases in addition to cardiovascular disease （CVD）. The causal interrelationships between these factors remain a matter of debate. In men with untreated congenital and lifelong forms of hypogonadotropic hypogonadism, there appears to be no increased risk. Men with Klinefelter＇s syndrome have an increased risk of various types of cancers, as well as CVD, which persist despite T therapy. In the absence of pathology of the hypothalamic-pituitary- gonadal axis, the effect of modest reductions in serum T in aging men is unclear. The prevalence of low serum T concentrations is high in men with cancer, renal disease, and respiratory disease and is likely to be an indicator of severity of systemic disease, not hypogonadism. Some population-based studies have found low serum T to be associated with a higher risk of deaths attributed to cancer, renal disease, and respiratory disease, while others have not. Although a meta-analysis of longitudinal studies has shown an association between low serum T and all-cause mortality, marked heterogeneity between studies limited a firm conclusion. Therefore, while a decrease in T particularly occurring later in life may be associated with an increase in all-cause and specific types of mortality in men, the differential effects, if any, of T and other sex steroids as compared to health and lifestyle factors are unknown at the current time.

Resulting from the collision of the Eurasian and Indian plates, the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau is commonly known as the ＇roof of the world＇. Collectively the Yarlung Tsangpo, Nu, Laneang, Yangtze, Yalong, and Yellow River basins drain the eastern margin of the plateau. In this paper, we utilize Shuttle Radar Topography Mission elevation data to examine morphometric and relief attributes of these basins to reveal insights rates of incision. A robust into tectonic activity and technique using Maflab is proposed to alleviate errors associated with SRTM data in the derivation of river longitudinal profiles. Convex longitudinal profiles are interpreted to be a product of uplift rates that exceed rates of channel incision along the entire margin of the Qinghai- Tibetan Plateau. Highest relief towards the south reflects extensive fluvial incision. High relief is also prominent along major active faults. Erosion patterns are related to distance from knickpoints. Highest rates of erosion and incision are evident towards the south, with decreasing values towards the north, suggesting a link between tectonic activity and erosion.

Ionic liquids(ILs)are an emerging class of media of fundamental importance for chemical engineering,especially due to their interaction with solid ***,we explore the growth phenomenon of surface-confined ILs and reveal a peculiar structural transition behavior from order to disorder above a threshold *** behavior can be explained by the variation of interfacial forces with increasing distance from the solid *** structural observation of different ILs highlights the influence of the ionic structure on the growth ***,the length of the alkyl chain in the cation is found to be a determining factor for the ordering ***,the thermal stability of surface-confined ILs is investigated in depth by controlling annealing *** is found that the ordered monolayer ILs exhibit high robustness against high *** findings provide new perspectives on the properties of surface-confined ILs and open up potential avenues for manipulating the structures of nanometer-thick IL films for various applications.
