Tuning the cross-linked structure of basic poly(ionic liquid)to develop an efficient catalyst for the conversion of vinyl carbonate to dimethyl carbonate

Dimethyl carbonate(DMc)is a crucial chemical raw material widely used in organic synthesis,lithiumion battery electrolytes,and various other *** current primary industrial process employs a conventional sodium methoxide basic catalyst to produce DMc through the transesterification reaction between vinyl carbonate and ***,the utilization of this catalyst presents several challenges during the process,including equipment corrosion,the generation of solid waste,susceptibility to deactivation,and complexities in separation and *** address these limitations,a series of alkaline poly(ionic liquid)s,i.e.[DVBPIL][PHO],[DVcPIL][PHO],and[TBVPIL][PHO],with different crosslinking degrees and structures,were synthesized through the construction of cross-linked polymeric monomers and *** poly(ionic liquid)s exhibit cross-linked structures and controllable cationic and anionic *** was conducted to investigate the effect of the cross-linking degree and structure on the catalytic performance of transesterification in synthesizing *** was discovered that the appropriate cross-linking degree and structure of the[DVcPIL][PHO]catalyst resulted in a DMc yield of up to 80.6%.Furthermore,this catalyst material exhibited good stability,maintaining its catalytic activity after repeated use five times without significant *** results of this study demonstrate the potential for using alkaline poly(ionic liquid)s as a highly efficient and sustainable alternative to traditional catalysts for the transesterification synthesis of DMc.

In situ digital testing method for quality assessment of soft soil improvement with polyurethane

This study purposes an in situ testing method on quality assessment of soil *** drilling data includes the spatial distribution and in situ strength of untreated and treated soil along three different drillholes measured by on-site drilling monitoring *** factual drilling data can characterize the degree of soil improvement by penetration injection with permeable *** from on-site drilling monitoring shows that the linear zones represent constant drilling speeds shown in the plot of drill bit advancement *** drilling time,which indicates the spatial distributions of soil *** soil profile at the study site is composed of four layers,which includes fill,untreated silty clay,treated silty clay,and mucky *** results of soil profile are verified by the parallel site *** constant drilling speeds profile the coring-resistant strength of drilled *** comparing with the untreated silty clay,the constant drilling speeds of the treated silty clay have been decreased by 13.0-62.8%.Two drilling-speed-based indices of 61.2%and 65.6%are proposed to assess the decreased average drilling speed and the increased in situ strength of treated silty *** tests,*** compressive strength(UcS)test,have been performed with core sample to investigate and characterize in situ strength by comparing that with drilling *** show that the average predicted strengths of treated silty clay are 2.4-6.9 times higher than the average measured strength of untreated silty *** UcS-based indices of 374.5%and 344.2%verified the quality assessment(QA)results by this new in situ *** method provides a cost-effective tool for quality assessment of soil improvement by utilizing the digital drilling data.

Interpenetrating network-reinforced gel polymer electrolyte for ultra-stable lithium−iodine batteries

Li-I_(2) batteries have attracted much interest due to their high capacity,exceptional rate performance,and low *** so,the problems of unstable Li anode/electrolyte interface and severe polyiodide shuttle in Li-I_(2) batteries need to be ***,the interfacial reactions on the Li anode and I_(2) cathode have been effectively optimized by employing a well-designed gel polymer electrolyte strengthened by cross-linked Ti-O/Si-O(GPETS).The interpenetrating network-reinforced GPETS with high ionic conductivity(1.88×10^(-3)S cm^(-1)at 25℃)and high mechanical strength endows uniform Li deposition/stripping over 1800 h(at 1.0mA cm^(-2),with a plating capacity of 3.0mAh cm^(-2)).Moreover,the GPETS abundant in surface hydroxyls is capable of capturing soluble polyiodides at the interface and accelerating their conversion kinetics,thus synergistically mitigating the shuttle *** from these properties,the use of GPETS results in a high capacity of 207 mAh g^(-1)(1 c)and an ultra-low fading rate of 0.013%per cycle over 2000 cycles(5 c).The current study provides new insights into advanced electrolytes for Li-I_(2) batteries.

Regioselective c-c bond cleavage/aminocarbonylation cascade under copper catalysis

A regioselective c-c bond cleavage/aminocarbonylation cascade is presented. In recent years, tremendous progress has been made in the alkoxyl radical-mediated c-c bond cleavage of unstrained monocarbocycles. In contrast, the deconstruction and functionalization of bicyclic skeletons has been less developed and has mainly focused on the ring expansion process. Inspired by the aromatization-driven c-c bond cleavage, here we demonstrate a ring-opening/aminocarbonylation cascade under copper catalysis, in which the formation of a stable γ-lactam or succinimide skeleton reverses the selectivity of c-c cleavage. Remarkably, the photo and thermal assistance is not required when the succinimide skeleton is formed during the ring opening process. DFT calculations revealed that this unexpected ring-opening process is thermodynamically and kinetically favourable.

Non-perturbative dynamics of flat-band systems with correlated disorder

comparisons of oxbow lake fish assemblages in relation to bigheaded carp establishment in the lower White River, Arkansas

Background Since the late 1990s, bigheaded carps(largely silver carp [Hypophthalmichthys molitrix] but also bighead carp [H. nobilis]) have established throughout the lower Mississippi River basin. Using previously studied oxbow lakes in the lower White River basin, Arkansas, we compared current(2017, “post-carp” establishment) fish assemblages to historical(2002, “pre-carp” establishment) fish assemblages. Fish assemblages were comprehensively assessed using multiple gears, including boat electrofishing, mini-fyke nets, and experimental small-mesh gill *** T-tests suggested that fish assemblage indices of richness, diversity, evenness, and dominance were often greater(P carp period as reflected by boat electrofishing and experimental gill nets. However, all indices were generally similar(P > 0.05) between the pre-carp and post-carp period with fish assemblages depicted using mini-fyke nets. Nonmetric multidimensional scaling analyses indicated that fish assemblages differed structurally between pre-carp and post-carp periods. Assemblage differences were linked to both small and large abundance changes for more than 20 species. Abundances of gizzard shad(Dorosoma cepedianum), emerald shiner(Notropis atherinoides), pugnose minnow(Opsopoeodus emiliae), crappies(Pomoxis spp.), bluegill(Lepomis macrochirus), orangespotted sunfish(L. humilis), and yellow bass(Morone mississippiensis) declined between the pre-carp and postcarp periods. conversely, abundances of weed shiner(N. texanus), pallid shiner(Hybopsis amnis), longear sunfish(L. megalotis), buffalofishes(Ictiobus spp.), and gars(Lepisosteus spp.) generally increased during the same *** Although not possible to conclude assemblage shifts were entirely related to bigheaded carps due to the absence of an appropriate reference system where carps did not establish, the wide establishment of these carps is one of the most pervasive changes to have occurred in the lower White

High recoverable energy density of Na_(0.5)Bi_(0.5)TiO_(3)-based ceramics by multi-scale insulation regulation and relaxor optimization strategy

Dielectric ceramic capacitors(Dccs)are highly desired for advanced electronic and electrical power systems owing to their ultrahigh power densities and fast charge-discharge ***,the low recoverable energy density(Wrec)of dielectric ceramic resulting from the low Weibull breakdown strength(Eb)has been a long-standing ***,we fabricated 0.8Na_(0.5)Bi_(0.5)TiO_(3)–0.2Sm_(1/3)Sr_(1/2)(Mg_(1/3)Nb_(2/3))O_(3)(0.8NBT–0.2SSMN)relaxor ferroelectric(RFE)ceramics display a greatly improved Eb of 480 kV/cm and largely enhanced Wrec of 7.3 j/cm3,far outperforming pure NBT *** demonstrate that the proposed multi-scale insulation regulation strategy via introducing SSMN with optimal content can effectively reduce grain sizes,increase the bandgap,and create a highly insulating second phase,leading to a high ***,the introduction of Sm^(3+)and Mg^(2+)–Nb5+dopants on the A/B-sites of the Na0.5Bi0.5TiO3 lattice created disruptions in the long-range-ordered ferroelectric domains,leading to excellent RFE *** high Eb and excellent RFE property led to the substantial improvement of ***,an exceptional thermal stability of Wrec and efficiency(η)are obtained at 25–200℃(Wrec∼(1.77±0.08)j/cm^(3),η∼82.9%±4.3%).This work offers a route for designing high energy storage performance relaxor ferroelectric ceramics for high-voltage dielectric ceramic capacitors.
