We report the properties of more than 600 bursts(including cluster-bursts)detected from the repeating fast radio burst(FRB)source FRB 20201124A with the Five-hundred-meter Aperture Spherical radio Telescope during an extremely active episode on UTc 2021 September 25–28,in a series of four *** observations were carried out in the band of 1.0–1.5 GHz by using the center beam of the L-band 19-beam *** monitored the source in sixteen1 hr sessions and one 3 hr session spanning 23 *** the bursts were detected during the first four *** this first paper of the series,we perform a detailed morphological study of 624 bursts using the two-dimensional frequencytime“waterfall”plots,with a burst(or cluster-burst)defined as an emission episode during which the adjacent emission peaks have a separation shorter than 400 *** duration of a burst is therefore always longer than 1 ms,with the longest up to more than 120 *** emission spectra of the sub-bursts are typically narrow within the observing band with a characteristic width of~277 *** center frequency distribution has a dominant peak at about 1091.9 MHz and a secondary weak peak around 1327.9 *** bursts show a frequencydownwarddrifting *** on the drifting patterns,we classify the bursts into five main categories:downward drifting(263)bursts,upward drifting(3)bursts,complex(203),no drifting(35)bursts,and no evidence for drifting(121)*** are introduced based on the emission frequency range in the band(low,middle,high and wide)as well as the number of components in one burst(1,2,or multiple).We measured a varying scintillation bandwidth from about 0.5 MHz at 1.0 GHz to 1.4 MHz at 1.5 GHz with a spectral index of 3.0.

Anomalous open orbits in Hofstadter spectrum of chern insulator

On-line determination of selenium compounds in tea infusion by extractive electrospray ionization mass spectrometry combined with a heating reaction device

Selenium is one of the important trace elements in the human *** deficiency will directly affect human *** people's attention to health,the content of selenium in food has gradually attracted ***,detecting selenium compounds in complex samples remains a *** this work,we built an online heating-reaction *** device combines the electrospray extraction ionization mass spectrometry(EESI-MS)with the heating reaction device,which can simultaneously detect various selenium compounds in complex liquid *** acidic conditions,the sample was heated and catalyzed by a heating reaction device,so that the SeO~(2-)_(3)and O-phenylenediamine(OPD)could generate 1,3-dihydro-2,1,*** on the above reactions,we can detect organic selenium,inorganic selenium and other compounds in liquid samples by organic mass *** this experiment,we determined the content of three forms of selenium:selenomethionine(SeMet),l-selenocystine(Secys(2)),and sodium *** calibration curves for SeMet,Secys(2),and sodium selenite showed strong linearity within a range of 0.50-50.00μg/*** limits of detection(LOD)for the three compounds were 0.22,0.27,and 0.41μg/L,*** limits of quantification(LOQ)were 0.68,0.81,and 1.23μg/L,*** recoveries at three levels ranged from 98.8%to 106.1%.In addition,this method can simultaneously detect three selenium compounds and three other specific chemical components in tea infusion samples,providing a rapid and efficient method for identifying tea quality.

Impacts of the annual cycle of background SST in the tropical Pacific on the phase and amplitude of ENSO

The dominant annual cycle of sea surface temperature(SST)in the tropical Pacific exhibits an antisymmetric mode,which explains 83.4%total variance,and serves as a background of El Niño-Southern Oscillation(ENSO).However,there is no consensus yet on its anomalous impacts on the phase and amplitude of *** on data during 1982-2022,results show that anomalies of the antisymmetric mode can affect the evolution of ENSO on the interannual scale via Bjerknes feedback,in which the positive(negative)phase of the antisymmetric mode can strengthen El Niño(La Niña)in boreal winter via an earlier(delayed)seasonal cycle transition and larger(smaller)annual *** magnitude of the SST anomalies in the equatorial eastern Pacific can reach more than±0.3◦c,regulated by the changes in the antisymmetric mode based on random sensitivity *** reveal the spatial pattern of the annual cycle associated with the seasonal phase-locking of ENSO evolution and provide new insight into the impact of the annual cycle of background SST on ENSO,which possibly carries important implications for forecasting ENSO.

Quercus acutissima exhibits more adaptable water uptake patterns in response to seasonal changes compared to Pinus massoniana

Background: Seasonal precipitation variability significantly affects water use in forests;however, whether water uptake is adapted to changes in precipitation, particularly whether it could affect the coexistence of tree species, has rarely been quantified in forest systems. Method: In this study, dual stable isotopes and the Li-6400 portable photosynthesis system were used to determine the water sources of a mixed conifer ( Pinus massoniana) ) and broadleaf ( Quercus acutissima) ) forest and changes in hydraulic characteristics during the dry and wet seasons in a southern hilly region of china. Results: Although the hydraulic characteristics of P . massoniana were lower than those of Q . acutissima, , it maintained a stable water source from the deep soil layer and a higher stomatal conductance (Gs), leading to a higher transpiration rate (Tr) during the growing seasons. Q. acutissima mainly absorbed water from deeper soil layers in the dry season and took up from shallow soil layers in the wet season. Its Gs values exhibited sensitivity to precipitation, while it maintained a lower Tr value during the growing seasons. The excessive water-use strategy observed in P. massoniana may confer weak drought-tolerance during higher frequency and more intense extreme precipitation events, whereas Q. acutissima may exhibit better ecological adaption to precipitation changes. conclusions: The overlap of water niches in mixed forests did not appear to affect the coexistence of tree species. The present study provides insights into reforestation and water management in the southern hilly regions of china.

Removal of particulate matter and dissolved organic matter from sedimentation sludge water during pre-sedimentation process:Performances and mechanisms

Sedimentation sludge water(SSW),a prominent constituent of wastewater from drinking water treatment plants,has received limited attention in terms of its treatment and utilization likely due to the perceived difficulties associated with managing SSW *** study comprehensively evaluated the water quality of SSW by comparing it to a well-documented wastewater(filter backwash water(FBW)).Furthermore,it investigated the pollutant variations in the SSW during pre-sedimentation process,probed the underlying reaction mechanism,and explored the feasibility of employing a pilot-scale coagulation-sedimentation process for SSW *** levels of most water quality parameters were generally comparable between SSW and *** the pre-sedimentation of SSW,significant removal of turbidity,bacterial counts,and dissolved organic matter(DOM)was *** characterization of DOM components,molecular weight distributions,and optical properties revealed that the macromolecular proteinaceous biopolymers and humic acids were preferentially *** characterization of particulates indicated that high surface energy,zeta potential,and bridging/adsorption/sedimentation/coagulation capacities in aluminum residuals of SSW,underscoring its potential as a coagulant and promoting the generation and sedimentation of inorganic-organic *** coagulation-sedimentation process could effectively remove pollutants from low-turbidity SSW([turbidity]0cs of SSW during the pre-sedimentation process,facilitating the development of SSW quality management and enhancing its reuse rate.

A Brief Review on Mean Field Optimal control Problem from a Linear Quadratic Perspective

This paper reviews the mean field social(MFS) optimal control problem for multi-agent dynamic systems and the mean-field-type(MFT) optimal control problem for single-agent dynamic systems within the linear quadratic(LQ) framework. For the MFS control problem, this review discusses the existing conclusions on optimization in dynamic systems affected by both additive and multiplicative noises. In exploring MFT optimization, the authors first revisit researches associated with single-player systems constrained by these dynamics. The authors then extend the proposed review to scenarios that include multiple players engaged in Nash games, Stackelberg games, and cooperative Pareto games. Finally, the paper concludes by emphasizing future research on intelligent algorithms for mean field optimization, particularly using reinforcement learning method to design strategies for models with unknown parameters.
