Microphysical Insights into a Tornadic Supercell from Dual-Polarization Radar Observations in jiangsu, China on 14 May 2021

Tornadoes are incredibly powerful and destructive natural events,yet the microphysical characteristics of the parent storm and its effects on tornadogenesis remain *** study analyzed polarization radar data of a tornadic supercell that occurred in jiangsu Province of China on 14 May 2021,in comparison with another tornadic supercell and two non-tornadic supercells that occurred in the same region in *** two tornadic supercells exhibited lower differential reflectivity(ZDR)in the hook echo region compared with the non-tornadic supercells,indicating smaller median drop sizes.A distinct increase in ZDR from the melting of frozen hydrometeors,observed between2.5-and 4.0-km altitude in the non-tornadic storms,was absent in the tornadic *** non-tornadic supercells also displayed substantially higher specific differential phase(KDP)below the melting level,likely aroused from enhanced melting and *** findings suggest fundamental microphysical contrasts between tornadic and nontornadic ***,tornadic supercells have smaller droplets and may reduce melting in hook ***,greater separation between the ZDR arc and the KDP foot was observed during *** vertical gradient of KDP related to the cooling pool strength of the hook echo,regulating rear-flank downdraft *** the limited number of cases investigated,the findings of this study indicate that monitoring ZDR,KDP,and drop size distribution trends could assist with tornado prediction and warnings.

SS-LASS Zircon Dating Deciphering Multiple Episodes of Anatexis in a Deeply-Subducted Continental Crust:An Example from Sulu Orogen,China

‘Single shot'laser-ablation split-stream(SS-LASS)technique analyzing unpolished zircon grains makes their thin rims tenable for determination,which thus offers great potential in deciphering the timing of multiple and short-lived episodes of anatexis and metamorphism in deeplysubducted continental *** granitic gneisses in the deeply subducted continental crust undergoing considerable fluid-melt activities persist multistage growth of ***,a comparative study of SS-LASS and laser ablation inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometer(LA-ICP-MS)zircon dating was conducted on the granitic gneisses from the Sulu belt in this *** mostly show a core-mantle-rim structure with CL-bright rims thinner than 5μ*** LA-ICP-MS dating,relict magmatic zircon cores yield protolith ages of ca.756-747 Ma;whereas the dark mantles record synexhumation anatexis at ca.214 *** contrast,according to the U-Pb dates,trace element features,zircon crystallization temperatures and geological context,SS-LASS zircon petrochronology deciphers three episodes of anatectic events,as follows:(i)the first episode of anatexis at ca.218-217 Ma dominated by phengite-breakdown melting,likely facilitating the exhumation of the UHP slice from mantle depth;(ii)the second episode of anatexis at ca.193–191 Ma indicating part of northern Dabie-Sulu belt was still“hot”because of buried in the thickened orogenic crust at that time;(iii)the third episode of anatexis(ca.162–161 Ma)consistent with the intrusion ages(ca.161–141 Ma)of the jurassic to Cretaceous granitoids in this orogen,suggesting the initial collapse of the orogenic root of the Sulu belt occurred at Late jurassic due to the Izanagi plate initially subducting beneath the margin of Eastern *** study sheds new light upon the utilization of SS-LASS petrochronology deciphering multiple anatectic events in the deeply-subducted continental crust and supports us in better understanding the tectonic evolution of Dabie-

Ash removal from inferior coal via ammonium fluoride roasting and simultaneous yield of white carbon black

The quality upgrading and deashing of inferior coal by chemical method still faces great *** dangers of strong acid,strong alkali,waste water and exhaust gas as well as high cost limit its industrial *** paper systematically investigates the ash reduction and desilicification of two typical inferior coal utilizing ammonium fluoride roasting *** the optimal conditions,for fat coal and gas coal,the deashing rates are 69.02%and 54.13%,and the desilicification rates are 92.64%and 90.27%,*** molar dosage of ammonium fluoride remains consistent for both coals;however,the gas coal,characterized by a lower ash and silica content(less than half that of the fat coal),achieves optimum deashing effect at a reduced time and *** majority of silicon in coal transforms into gaseous ammonium fluorosilicate,subsequently preparing nanoscale amorphous silica with a purity of 99.90%through ammonia *** of the fluorine in deashed coal are assigned in inorganic minerals,suggesting the possibility of further fluorine and ash removal via *** research provides a green and facile route to deash inferior coal and produce nano-scale white carbon black simultaneously.

Distributed active vibration control for helicopter based on diffusion collaboration

A novel high-Cr CoNi-based superalloy with superior high-temperature microstructural stability, oxidation resistance and mechanical properties

A novel multicomponent high-Cr CoNi-based superalloy with superior comprehensive performance was prepared,and the evaluation of its high-temperature microstructural stability,oxidation resistance,and mechanical properties was conducted mainly using its cast polycrystalline *** results disclosed that the morphology of theγ′phase remained stable,and the coarsening rate was slow during the long-term aging at 900–1000℃.The activation energy forγ′precipitate coarsening of alloy 9CoNi-Cr was(402±51)kj/mol,which is higher compared with those of CMSx-4 and some other Ni-based and Co-based ***,there was no indica-tion of the formation of topologically close-packed phases during this *** these factors demonstrated the superior microstructural stability of the *** mass gain of alloy 9CoNi-Cr was 0.6 mg/cm^(2) after oxidation at 1000℃ for 100 h,and the oxidation resistance was comparable to advanced Ni-based superalloys CMSx-4,which can be attributed to the formation of a continuous Al_(2)O_(3) protective ***,the compressive yield strength of this cast polycrystalline alloy at high temperatures is clearly higher than that of the conventional Ni-based cast superalloy and the compressive minimum creep rate at 950℃ is comparable to that of the conventional Ni-based cast superalloy,demonstrating the alloy’s good mechanical properties at high *** is partially because high Cr is bene-ficial in improving theγandγ′phase strengths of alloy 9CoNi-Cr.

Structural Optimization of the Inlet Header of Supercritical Carbon Dioxide Printed Circuit Board Heat Exchanger

Supercritical carbon dioxide printed circuit board heat exchangers are expected to be applied in third-generation solar thermal power ***,the uniformity of supercritical carbon dioxide entering the heat exchanger has a significant impact on the overall performance of the heat *** order to improve the uniformity of flow distribution in the inlet header,this article studies and optimizes the inlet header of a printed circuit board heat exchanger through numerical *** results indicate that when supercritical carbon dioxide flows through the header cavity,eddy currents will be generated,which will increase the uneven distribution of flow rate,while reducing the generation of eddy currents will improve the uniform distribution of flow *** the dimensionless factor of the inlet header is 6,the hyperbolic configuration is the optimal *** also reduced the eddy current region by adding transition segments,and the results showed that the structure was the best when the dilation angle was 10°,which reduced the non-uniformity by 21%compared to the hyperbolic configuration,providing guidance for engineering practice.

Adsorption is one of the most feasible and effective methods to alleviate the volatile organic compounds(VOCs)***,the mixture effect and mechanism for competitive adsorption of VOCs on zeolites are barely *** this study,toluene,acetone,and ethyl acetate as prevalent VOCs species were removed by four potential zeolites(13x,USY,Beta,ZSM-5)in both single-and multi-component *** structure-property relationship between adsorbate-adsorbent pairs was revealed by x-ray diffraction,scanning electron microscopy,energy dispersive spectrometer,x-ray fluorescence,N_(2) adsorption and density function theory *** molecular polarity and volatility of VOCs species played key roles in adsorption and the dynamic uptakes were generally listed as follows:ethyl acetate>toluene>*** for the above VOCs mixtures,13x zeolite selectively adsorbed oxygenated VOCs rather than *** contrast,USY exhibited a preference to trap *** acetate could be readily enriched by ZSM-5 and Beta *** possible explanations and implications are discussed based on the subtle change in electron *** results obtained are vital for understanding the mixture effect of VOCs adsorption and may guide the selection of proper adsorbent for real applications.

Simultaneous removal of 1,2-dichlorobenzene and furan over Mn-Ce-Fe oxide catalyst:Catalytic activity and product analysis

Effects of Heat Transfer on Laminar-to-Turbulent Transition over a Compressor Blade Operating at Low Reynolds Number

To control the transition process in a laminar separation bubble(LSB)over an ultra-high load compressor blade at a Re of 1.5×10^(5),the effects of wall heat transfer were considered and numerically investigated by large eddy simulations(LES).Compared with the adiabatic wall condition,the local kinematic viscosity of airflow was reduced by wall cooling;thus the effects of turbulent dissipation on the growth of fluctuations were *** such,the transition occurred much earlier,and the size of LSB became *** the cooled surface,the spanwise vortices deformed much more rapidly and the size of hairpin vortex structures was ***,the rolling-up of 3D hairpin vortices and the ejection and sweeping process very close to the blade surface was ***,the aerodynamic losses of the compressor blade were reduced by 18.2%and 38.4%for the two cooled wall *** results demonstrated the feasibility of wall cooling in controlling the transition within an LSB and reducing the aerodynamic loss of an ultra-highly loaded compressor blade.
