Introduction:ATP-binding cassette subfamily B member 1(ABCB1) and subfamily C member 10(ABCCIO) proteins are efflux transporters that couple the energy derived from ATP hydrolysis to the translocation of toxic substances and chemotherapeutic drugs out of *** is a novel taxane that differs from paclitaxel by its lower affinity for ATP-binding cassette(ABC) ***:We determined the effects of cabazitaxel,a novel tubulin-binding taxane,and paclitaxel on paclitaxelresistant,ABCB1-overexpressing KB-C2 and LLC-MDR1-WT cells and paclitaxel-resistant,ABCC10-overexpressing HEK293/ABCC10 cells by calculating the degree of drug resistance and measuring ATPase activity of the ABCB1 ***:Decreased resistance to cabazitaxel compared with paclitaxel was observed in KB-C2,LLC-MDR1-WT,and HEK293/ABCC10 ***,cabazitaxel had low efficacy,whereas paclitaxel had high efficacy in stimulating the ATPase activity of ABCB1,indicating a direct interaction of both drugs with the ***:ABCB1 and ABCC10 are not primary resistance factors for cabazitaxel compared with paclitaxel,suggesting that cabazitaxel may have a low affinity for these efflux transporters.

AIM:To compare the performance of different types of abdominal drains used in bariatric ***:A vertical banded Roux-en-Y gastric bypass was performed in 33 morbidly obese *** of the peritoneal cavity was performed in each case using three different types of drain selected in a randomized manner:a latex tubular drain,a Watterman tubulolaminar drain,and a silicone channeled *** permeability,contamination of the drained fluid,ease of handling,and patient discomfort were evaluated postoperatively over a period of 7 ***:The patients with the silicone channeled drain had larger volumes of drainage compared to patients with tubular and tubulolaminar drains between the third and seventh postoperative *** addition,a lower incidence of discomfort and of contamination with bacteria of a more pathogenic profile was observed in the patients with the silicone channeled ***:The silicone channeled drain was more comfortable and had less chance of occlusion,which is important in the detection of delayed dehiscence.

AIM： To determine the effect of melatonin pre- and post-treatment on the severity of L-arginine （L-Arg） -induced experimental pancreatitis in rats. METHODS： Male Wistar rats （25） were divided into five groups. Those in group A received two injections of 3.2 g/kg body weight L-Arg i.p. at an interval of 1 h. In group MA, the rats were treated with 50 mg/kg body weight melatonin i.p. 30 min prior to L-Arg administration. In group AM, the rats received the same dose of melatonin 1 h after L-Arg was given. In group M, a single dose of melatonin was administered as described previously. In group C the control animals received physiological saline injections i.p. All rats were exsanguinated 24 h after the second L-Arg injection. RESULTS： L-Arg administration caused severe necrotizing pancreatitis confirmed by the significant elevations in the serum amylase level, the pancreatic weight/body weight ratio （pw/bw）, the pancreatic IL-6 content and the myeloperoxidase activity, relative to the control values. Elevation of the serum amylase level was significantly reduced in rats given melatonin following L-Arg compared to rats injected with L-Arg only. The activities of the pancreatic antioxidant enzymes （Cu/Zn-superoxide dismutase （CulZn-SOD） and catalase （CAT）） were significantly increased 24 h after pancreatitis induction. Melatonin given in advance of L-Arg significantly reduced the pancreatic CAT activity relative to that in the rats treated with L-Arg alone. In the liver, L-Arg significantly increased the lipid peroxidation level, and the glutathione peroxidase and Cu/Zn-SOD activities, whereas the Mn-SOD activity was reduced as compared to the control rats. Melatonin pre-treatment prevented these changes. CONCLUSION： Melatonin is an antioxidant that is able to counteract some of the L-Arg-induced changes during acute pancreatitis, and may therefore be helpful in the supportive therapy of patients with acute necrotizing pancreatitis.

This study investigates the learning curve of commercial banks regarding the efficiency of credit and value ***,current empirical methods for accessing the learning curve in organizations are not suitable for use in financial *** bank-specific characteristics,we introduce a dynamic learning curve using a cost function adjusted to capture learning-by-doing in *** the model,we test several hypotheses on the impact of bank intermediary experience(learning)on the efficiency of credit and value creation in japanese commercial *** findings show that bank intermediary learning significantly improves the cost efficiency gain in the gross value created,total credit created,and ***,bank intermediary experience has no significant effect on the efficiency of the economic value created for all the banks *** findings have practical implications for evaluating cost dynamics in bank credit and value creation,risk management,lending to the real sector,and shareholder value creation.

波动不对称(FA)是压力的随机性引发双侧完美对称偏离的现象,这是个体无力免受发展中不利因素(如早期营养不良)侵害的一个标志。比较个体口腔两侧牙齿的大小是一种测量 FA 的方法。本研究汇集了 10 个物种共 296 名个体的牙齿测量结果,测量对象包括黑猩猩(学名 Pan troglodytes)、猩猩(学名Pongo pygmaeus)、大猩猩(学名 Gorilla gorilla)、智人(学名 Homo sapiens),以及许多化石人。分析发现,猩猩样本牙齿的 FA 水平要显著低于大猩猩、黑猩猩、直立人、尼安德特人和智人样本的 FA 水平。而与之相反的是,智人与尼安德特人样本的牙齿 FA 水平要显著高于其它任何一种巨猿样本的 FA 水平。该文提出了有关缓和的选择压力的解释。
