Our previous study has revealed that procyanidin A_(1)(A_(1))and its simulated digestive product(D-A,)can alleviate acrylamide(ACR)-induced intestine cell ***,the underlying mechanism remains *** this study,we elucidated the molecular mechanism for and D-A_(1) to alleviate ACR-stimulated IPEC-j2 cell *** slightly activated nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 2(Nrf2)signaling and its target genes,but this activation could not reduce intestine cell damage.A_(1) and D-A_(1) could alleviate ACR-induced cell damage,but the effect was abrogated in cells transiently transfected with Nrf2 small interfering RNA(siRNA).Further investigation confirmed that A_(1) and D-A_(1) interacted with Ketch-like ECH-associated protein 1(Keapl),which boosted the stabilization of Nrf2,subsequently promoted the translocation of Nrf2 into the nucleus,and further increased the expression of antioxidant proteins,thereby inhibiting glutathione(GSH)consumption,maintaining redox balance and eventually alleviating ACR-induced cell ***,there was no difference between A_(1) and D-A_(1) treated groups,indicating that A_(1) can tolerate gastrointestinal digestion and may be a potential compound to limit the toxicity of ACR.

Inflammation and angiogenesis, the major pathological changes of osteoarthritis (OA), are closely associated with joint pain; however, pertinent signalling interactions within subchondral bone of osteoarthritic joints and potential contribution to the peripheral origin of OA pain remain to be elucidated. Herein we developed a unilateral anterior crossbite mouse model with osteoarthritic changes in the temporomandibular joint. Microarray-based transcriptome analysis, besides quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction, was performed to identify differentially expressed genes (DEGs). Overall, 182 DEGs (fold change ≥ 2, P were identified between the control and unilateral anterior crossbite groups: 168 were upregulated and 14 were downregulated. On subjecting significant DEGs to enrichment analyses, inflammation and angiogenesis were identified as the most affected. Inflammation-related DEGs were mainly enriched in T cell activation and differentiation and in the mammalian target of rapamycin/nuclear factor-κB/tumour necrosis factor signalling. Furthermore, angiogenesis-related DEGs were mainly enriched in the Gene Ontology terms angiogenesis regulation and vasculature development and in the KEGG pathways of phosphoinositide 3-kinase-protein kinase B/vascular endothelial growth factor/hypoxia-inducible factor 1 signalling. Protein– protein interaction analysis revealed a close interaction between inflammation-and angiogenesis-related DEGs, suggesting that phosphatidylinositol-4,5-bisphosphate 3-kinase catalytic subunit delta (Pi3kcd), cathelicidin antimicrobial peptide (Camp), C-X-C motif chemokine receptor 4 (Cxcr4), and MYB proto-oncogene transcription factor (Myb) play a central role in their interaction. The superplastic behavior and associated deformation mechanisms of a fine-grained Mg-10.1 Li-0.8Al-0.6Zn alloy(LAZ1011)with a grain size of 3.2μm,primarily composed of the BCCβphase and a small amount of the HCPαphase,were examined in a temperature range of 473 K to 623 *** microstructural refinement of this alloy was achieved by employing high-ratio differential speed *** best superplasticity was achieved at 523 K and at strain rates of 10^(-4)-5×10^(-4)s^(-1),where tensile elongations of 550±600%were *** the heating and holding stage of the tensile samples prior to tensile loading,a significant increase in grain size was observed at temperatures above 573 ***,it was important to consider this effect when analyzing and understanding the superplastic deformation behavior and *** the investigated strain rate range,the superplastic flow at low strain rates was governed by lattice diffusion-controlled grain boundary sliding,while at high strain rates,lattice diffusion-controlled dislocation climb creep was the rate-controlling deformation *** was concluded that solute drag creep is unlikely to *** the late stages of deformation at 523 K,it was observed that grain boundary sliding led to the agglomeration of theαphase,resulting in significant strain *** mechanism maps were constructed forβ-Mg-Li alloys in the form of 2D and 3D formats as a function of strain rate,stress,temperature,and grain size,using the constitutive equations for various deformation mechanisms derived based on the data of the current tests.

In this study,interconnected porous Mg-2Zn-xY alloys with different phase compositions were prepared by various Y additions(x=0.4,3,and 6 wt.%)to adjust the compressive properties and energy absorption *** characterization methods were then applied to identify the microstructure of the porous Mg-Zn-Y and describe the details of the second *** tests were performed at room temperature(RT),200℃,and 300℃to study the impact of the Y addition and testing temperature on the compressive properties of the porous *** experimental results showed that a high Y content promotes a microstructure refinement and increases the volume fraction of the second *** the Y content increases,different Mg-Zn-Y ternary phases appear:I-phase(Mg_(3)Zn_(6)Y),w-phase(Mg_(3)Zn_(3)Y_(2)),and LPSO phase(Mg_(12)ZnY).when the Y content ranges between 0.4%and 6%,the compressive strength increases from 6.30MPa to 9.23 MPa,and the energy absorption capacity increases from 7.33 Mj/m^(3)to 10.97 Mj/m^(3)at RT,which is mainly attributed to the phase composition and volume fraction of the second ***,the average energy absorption efficiency is independent of the Y *** addition,the compressive deformation behaviors of the porous Mg-Zn-Y are altered by the testing *** compressive strength and energy absorption capacity of the porous Mg-Zn-Y decrease due to the softening effect of the high temperature on the *** deformation behaviors at different temperatures are finally observed to reflect the failure mechanisms of the struts.

Reconstruction of bone defects or fractures caused by ageing, trauma and tumour resection is still a great challenge in clinical treatment. Although autologous bone graft is considered as gold standard, the source of natural bone is limited. In recent years, regenerative therapy based on bioactive materials has been proposed for bone reconstruction. Specially, numerous studies have indicated that bioactive ceramics including silicate and phosphate bioceramics exhibit excellent osteoinductivity and osteoconductivity, further promote bone regeneration. In addition, magnesium (Mg) element, as an indispensable mineral element, plays a vital role in promoting bone mineralisation and formation. In this review, different types of Mg-containing bioceramics including Mg-containing calcium phosphate-based bioceramics (such as Mg-hydroxyapatite, Mg-biphasic calcium phosphate), Mg-containing calcium silicate-based bioceramics (such as Mg2SiO4, Ca2MgSi2O7and Mg-doped bioglass), Mg-based biocements, Mg-containing metal/polymer-bioceramic composites were systematacially summarised. Additionally, the fabrication technologies and their materiobiological effects were deeply discussed, Clinical applications and perspectives of magnesium-containing bioceramics for bone repair are highlighted. Overall, Mg-containing bioceramics are regarded as regenerative therapy with their optimised performance. Furthermore, more in-depth two-way researches on their performance and structure are essential to satisfy their clinical needs. © 2024, Chinese Medical Multimedia Press Co Ltd. All rights reserved.

we present resolved Giant Metrewave Radio Telescope H I observations of the high gas-phase metallicity dwarf galaxy wISEA j230615.06+143927.9(z = 0.005)(hereafter j2306) and investigate whether it could be a Tidal Dwarf Galaxy(TDG) candidate. TDGs are observed to have higher metallicities than normal dwarfs. j2306 has an unusual combination of a blue g-r color of 0.23 mag, irregular optical morphology and high-metallicity(12 +log(O/H) = 8.68 ± 0.14), making it an interesting galaxy to study in more detail. we find j2306 to be an H I rich galaxy with a large extended, unperturbed rotating H I disk. Using our H I data we estimated its dynamical mass and found the galaxy to be dark matter(DM) dominated within its H I radius. The quantity of DM, inferred from its dynamical mass, appears to rule out j2306 as an evolved TDG. A wide area environment search reveals j2306 to be isolated from any larger galaxies which could have been the source of its high gas metallicity. Additionally, the H I morphology and kinematics of the galaxy show no indication of a recent merger to explain the *** detailed optical spectroscopic observations of j2306 might provide an answer to how a seemingly ordinary irregular dwarf galaxy achieved such a high level of metal enrichment.

Environmental sediments mainly consisting of CaO–MgO–Al_(2)O_(3)–SiO_(2)(CMAS)corrosion are a serious threat to thermal barrier coatings(TBCs),in which Fe element is usually ***_(2)Zr_(2)O_(7)TBCs are famous for their excellent CMAS *** this study,the characteristics of Fe-containing environmental sediments(CMAS-Fe)and their corrosiveness to Gd_(2)Zr_(2)O_(7)coatings were *** types of CMAS-Fe glass with different Fe contents were *** melting points were measured to be 1322–1344℃,and the high-temperature viscosity showed a decreasing trend with increasing Fe *** corrosion behavior of four types of CMAS-Fe to Gd_(2)Zr_(2)O_(7)coatings at 1350℃was *** the initial corrosion stage(0.1 h),anorthite was precipitated in CMAS-Fe with a high Ca:Si ratio,while Fe-garnet was formed in the melt with the highest Fe *** the corrosion time resulted in the formation of a reaction layer,which exhibited an interpenetrating network composed of Gd-oxyapatite,ZrO_(2),and residual *** spinel was precipitated within the reaction *** 1 h or even longer time,the reaction layers tended to be stable and compact,which had comparable hardness and fracture toughness to those of Gd_(2)Zr_(2)O_(7)*** the cyclic CMAS-Fe attack,the residual CMAS-Fe in the interpenetrating network provided a pathway for the redeposited CMAS-Fe infiltration,resulting in the continuous growth of the reaction *** a result,the Gd_(2)Zr_(2)O_(7)coatings had a large consumption in the thickness,degrading the coating ***,the Gd_(2)Zr_(2)O_(7)coatings exhibit unsatisfactory corrosion resistance to CMAS-Fe attack.
