The infiuence of small calcium additions on the high-temperature mechanical behaviour in an extruded Mg-6Zn-l Y(wt.%)alloy reinforced by the I-phase has been *** promotes the formation of the intermetallic Mg6Zn3Ca2 phase instead of 1-phase,which results in a noticeable improvement of the yield strength and ultimate tensile strength of the alloy above 100℃.The strength of the alloys was analysed taking into account the contribution due to the grain size,the crystallographic texture and the volume fraction and nature of second phase *** situ synchrotron radiation diffraction experiments have been used to evaluate the load partitioning between the magnesium matrix and the second phase particles(1-and MgeZgCa?phases)in both *** load transfer from the magnesium matrix towards the MgeZihCa?phase is markedly more effective than that for the I-phase over the entire temperature range,especially at 200°C,temperature at which the reinforcement effect of the I-phase is null.

Rare earths have been extensively developed in recent years, however, new hosts allow high excitation and emission efficiency, in this sense, gadolinium vanadate has been extensively studied and in previous works it has been widely used in down conversion systems. Because of the strong absorption of the VO4 groups and efficient energy transfer from GdVO4 to lanthanide ions, in this work its up-conversion properties were studied when is co-doped with Yb3+, X3+ where X = Tm, Er and Ho. The powders synthesized presented a high crystallinity and a rounded morphology and exhibit a high luminescence when are excited with IR radiation.

The identification of jets originating from quarks and gluons,often referred to as quark/gluon tagging,plays an important role in various analyses performed at the Large Hadron Collider,as Standard Model measurements and searches for new particles decaying to quarks often rely on suppressing a large gluon-induced *** paper describes the measurement of the efficiencies of quark/gluon taggers developed within the ATLAS Collaboration,using √s=13 TeV proton–proton collision data with an integrated luminosity of 140 fb^(-1) collected by the ATLAS *** taggers with high performances in rejecting jets from gluon over jets from quarks are studied:one tagger is based on requirements on the number of inner-detector tracks associated with the jet,and the other combines several jet substructure observables using a boosted decision tree.A method is established to determine the quark/gluon fraction in data,by using quark/gluon-enriched subsamples defined by the jet *** in tagging efficiency between data and simulation are provided for jets with transverse momentum between 500 GeV and 2 TeV and for multiple tagger working points.

BACKGROUND The challenges for inflammatory bowel disease(IBD)diagnostics are to discriminate it from gut conditions with similar symptoms such as irritable bowel syndrome(IBS),to distinguish IBD subtypes,to predict disease progression,and to establish the risk to develop colorectal cancer(CRC).Alterations in gut microbiota have been proposed as a source of information to assist in IBD *** prausnitzii(***),its phylogroups,and Escherichia coli(***)have been reported as potential biomarkers,but their performance in challenging IBD diagnostic situations remains *** hypothesize that bacterial biomarkers based in these species may help to discriminate these conditions of complex *** To evaluate the usefulness of indices calculated from the quantification of these species as biomarkers to aid in IBD *** A retrospective study of 131 subjects(31 controls(H);45 Crohn’s disease(CD),25 ulcerative colitis(UC),10 IBS,and 20 CRC patients)was performed to assess the usefulness of bacterial biomarkers in ***,the performance of biomarkers in faeces was studied in 29 stool samples(19 CD,10 UC).Relative abundances of total ***(FP),its phylogroups(PHGI and PHGII),and ***(E)quantification were determined by *** were combined to calculate the FP-E index,the PHGI–E index and the PHGII-E *** accuracy to discriminate among conditions was measured by the area under the receiver operating characteristic curve(AUC).RESULTS In biopsies,FP-E index was good for discriminating IBS from CD(AUC=0.752)while PHGII-E index was suitable for discriminating IBS from UC(AUC=0.632).The FP-E index would be the choice to discriminate IBD from CRC,especially from all UC subtypes(AUC≥0.875),regardless of the activity status of the *** between UC patients that had the longest disease duration and those with CRC featured slightly lower AUC *** differentiation in IB

BACKGROUND The results obtained to date concerning food groups,diet quality and colorectal cancer(CRC)risk vary according to criteria used and the study *** To study the relationships between food groups,diet quality and CRC risk,in an adult population of the Basque Country(North of Spain).METHODS This observational study included 308 patients diagnosed with CRC and 308 ageand sex-matched subjects as *** recruitment,dietary,anthropometric,lifestyle,socioeconomic,demographic and health status information was *** to the dietary recommendations was evaluated utilizing the Healthy Eating Index for the Spanish Diet and the *** logistic regressions were used to evaluate the associations of food group intakes,diet quality scores,categorized in tertiles,with CRC *** The adjusted models for potential confounding factors showed a direct association between milk and dairy products consumption,in particular high-fat cheeses[odds ratio(OR)third tertile vs first tertile=1.87,95%confidence intervals(CI):1.11-3.16],and CRC *** the consumption of fiber-containing foods,especially whole grains(OR third tertile vs first tertile=0.62,95%CI:0.39-0.98),and fatty fish(OR third tertile vs first tertile=0.53,95%CI:0.27-0.99)was associated with a lower risk for ***,higher MD adherence was associated with a reduced CRC risk in adjusted models(OR third tertile vs first tertile=0.40,95%CI:0.20-0.80).CONCLUSION Direct associations were found for high-fat cheese,whereas an inverse relation was reported for fiber-containing foods and fatty fish,as well as adherence to a Mediterranean dietary pattern.
