The potato psyllid, Baetericera （= Paratrioza） cockerelli （gulc）（Hemiptera： Triozidae）, is a major pest of potato. studies were conducted to determine the age at which both males and females reach reproductive maturity and the effect of age and time of day on sex attraction. Adult B. cockerelli reach reproductive maturity within 48 h post-eclosion, with females being mature on the day of eclosion and males at 1 day post-eclosion. Oviposition generally began 2 days after mating but was delayed when females mated within 2 days post-eclosion. In laboratory olfactometer assays, the age of females used as odor sources and the age of males assayed to these odors did not affect sex attraction, with both younger （1-4-day-old） and older （8-10-day-old） males being attracted to females, regardless of female age （1-4-day-old or 8-10-day-old）. Males assayed to live females at different times during the photophase （between 8：00 and 20：00 hours） were attracted to females between 11：00 and 17：00 hours, showing a temporal periodicity in sex attraction with B. cockerelli at least during the photophase.

The keV and XUV spectra of plasmas produced by the interaction of a laser pulse of various duration and wavelengths with,a solid Al target are compared and *** decrease of the XUV emission from the high ionization states was observed with the shortest pulses(500fs)and the shortest wavelength(0.5μm),which may be due to rapid cooling and quenching of ultrashort-lived and initially ultra-dense plasmas.

Herein we review the current state-of-the-art of plant hydraulics in the context of plant physiology, ecology, and evolution, focusing on current and future research opportunities. We explain the physics of water transport in plants and the limits of this transport system, highlighting the relationships between xylem structure and function. We describe the great variety of techniques existing for evaluating xylem resistance to cavitation. We address several methodological issues and their connec- tion with current debates on conduit refilling and exponentially shaped vulnerability curves. We analyze the trade-offs existing between water transport safety and efficiency. We also stress how little information is available on molecular biology of cavitation and the potential role of aquaporins in conduit refilling. Finally, we draw attention to how plant hydraulic traits can be used for modeling stomatal responses to environmental variables and climate change, including drought mortality.

The yellow granules in the gastral cuticle of the Oriental hornet Vespa oriental＆（Hymenoptera, Vespinae） are located in yellow stripes. In the present study, we focus on the micromorphology and formation of the yellow granules from their inception to their spread in the regions which are destined to acquire a yellow color, The cuticle was observed with several methods of electron microscopy. The results showed that the yellow granules comprise a layer which is 20-25 μm thick, within the total cuticular thickness of 40-45 μm. In the mentioned regions one can see, from above, many apertures of about 0.5μm in diameter which extends into a peripheral photoreceptor cell. In each yellow granule, one discerns a myoid envelope inside which there are 9 fibrils arranged in a circle. Yellow granules maturation process involves infiltration of canals that give rise to the incipient ball-shaped primary granules which increase in number （as a result of continues budding off the walls of a canal） as the cuticle matures and transform into secondary barrel shaped granules, becoming elongated and then splitting into shorter barrels that fill up the entire area. Preliminary examinations have suggested liver-like function activity within the layer of yellow granules.

Zn-5wt% Al eutectic alloy was directionally solidified with different growth rates （5.32-250.0μm/s） at a constant temperature gradient of 8.50 K/mm using a Bridgman-type growth *** values of eutectic spacing were measured from transverse sections of the *** dependences of the eutectic spacing and undercooling on growth rate are determined as λ=9.21V-0.53 and ΔT=0.0245V0.53,*** results obtained in this work were compared with the jackson-Hunt eutectic theory and the similar experimental results in the *** of directionally solidified samples was also measured by using a microhardness test *** dependency of the microhardness on growth rate is found as Hv=***,the electrical resistivity （r） of the casting alloy changes from 40×10-9 to 108×10-9 Ω·m with the temperature rising in the range of 300-630 *** enthalpy of fusion （ΔH） and specific heat （Cp） for the Zn-Al eutectic alloy are calculated to be 113.37 j/g and 0.309 j/（g·K）,respectively by means of differential scanning calorimetry （DsC） from heating trace during the transformation from liquid to solid.
